I’ve been a member of the tabletop crafting community for years. I’ve played RPGs for most of my life, but only about 5 years ago was I turned on to crafting through a passing comment at my local game store. When I looked, I discover so many of the great online content creators in our community.
Fast forward to now, and I want to help you bring the immersive experience to your table that I’ve been able to enjoy myself.
Enjoy the crafting and painting tutorials, and please let me know if there’s anything you’d like to see made!

Hey there crafting community! This coliseum is one of the most intricate buildings I’ve ever made, just behind the Moathouse (th-cam.com/video/FDEQ0UVvLvE/w-d-xo.html). It’s an advanced level project for tabletop gamers who want to have an impressive, static, large battleground for all of their intense encounters.
I built this for a client who specifically requested the layout and design, and I might just have to make one for myself now.
This particular fighting arena is great because it provides a dynamic and engaging setting for your game sessions. The arena is removable from the base if you’d ever like to change the setting too.
Hope you guys enjoy this video, and enjoy making your new arena even more! Feel free to shoot me a message if you have any questions about the build. Happy crafting!

Very cool indeed! Love the atmosphere this invokes!
you did not invent enything th-cam.com/video/Rvc0Jt8ESy4/w-d-xo.html
Amazing build! I like how you painted the brick so there was some good variation between them
Thinner than 1" foam board also really likes to warp. I love ReadiBoard for its availability and use on smaller bits of terrain and objects, but it does not like to stay flat.
This awesome. I want to make a volcano 🌋 theme one for a red dragon boss fight with active lava pools, and rivers of lave that form when they go off and really make it a good interactive battle. Maybe even make a roof for falling cave rocks and stuff. Idk how to do any of that though but this gave me so good ideas.
Great attention to detail!
There is no way that’s pipe cleaners :o you are so talented dude plus this vid has been an out for a YEAR?! Dude you are soooo underrated!!!
I appreciate you saying so! Pipe cleaner trees are some of my favorite to make. Thanks for the praise! You should make some too 🌳👏
Awesome job! I love the detail you've gone to with this build. Amazing work 👍
Thanks so much! It was a labor of love
Nice result. When you were talking about the additions like islands or dock districts, did you consider crafting large waves to represent stormy weather?
I hadn’t thought about it, but maybe I’ll give it a go 🌊
This is incredible 😮, I was looking for some inspiration. Every year i make this 13 days till Halloween calendar and this year I want to make a graveyard with 13 graves to open and then I end up watching this 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻😂😂
Thanks very much for all the tips! I'm making my own board for Kill Team and I wanted to do some water effects in the middle area rather than buying a printed game board and terrain, of which I already have a ton, and semi-regularly make more.
Awesome! I’m glad this was helpful. Best of luck with the Kill Team board 🍻
I have the most (100% fail rate) trouble with the resin seeping through the foam. And this is WITH covering the foam with plaster cloth, spackling/ joint compound, modeling paste, etc-sometimes all in the same pour and with every brand of resin I’ve tried. I just cannot get that right 😬🙀🙀
I’m still about 50-50 depending on the build, so I understand! If I can, I try to use 1” XPS sheets as my base, and then resin tape as my sealer. As long as the edges of the XPS are smooth and flat, the tape creates an air tight seal. At least most of the time 🙃
@@parttimetabletopper my issues are mostly seeping through the bottom no matter how much sealant I think I’ve secured. I look forward to using the tape on the ends though-thanks!
WOOOWWWWW. Well done! Currently running my players through the moat house, fun to see your build here.
Thanks so much!! Hope your campaign is going well ⚔️🎲
Love this! Inspires me to keep going with my content! 👍
Very nice video! I will be trying this!
Looks cool.
What was the size of this
Just shy of 2ft in diameter total
Great making things the fighting pit and graveyard. Where did you get the cocktail sticks
I appreciate that! I found them on Amazon: a.co/d/0hUYs4Xs
This was really cool to see the creative process unfold! Looking forward to seeing more builds!!
What a masterpiece, dude!
Thanks man!
great video
Well done. That is a work of art.
This is awesome!!!!!!!
Looks great! Were you inspired by Jeremy at Black Magic Crafts?
Thank you! Not specifically for this build, but in general absolutely. Jeremy’s one of the big OG TH-cam crafters, and his channel helped me build a solid foundation of techniques and recipes when I was getting started. Neil from Real Terrain Hobbies was another big one. This build in particular drew a lot of inspiration from the Coliseum from Tabletop Witchcraft, a couple battle maps I found online, and reference art my buyer sent me earlier this year.
@parttimetabletopper Well, your builds & videos are solid, as well! I love the TT crafting community & you're no exception! Keep it up, please!
I really appreciate that 🙏🤘 The TT crafting community is awesome
Wow!!!! What an epic and beautiful piece!!! ❤😊❤
Thank you very much! 😊💙
@@parttimetabletopper you are welcome 🤗
I hope it's my DM who bought that, that's incredible!
The arena looks awesome. You can always make the arena bigger if you magnetized in spots.
Thank you! And that’s very true. There’s room to grow if you wanted.
Hi love your videos ❤ KitbashCarnage hear at the age of 31 iv recently got back into the warhammer/kitbashing community agen after taking 15year brake to pay bills and so on . I have taken the leap head on and started a youtube channel along with Instagram, Facebook and Tiktok. It's hard with this algorithm thing is somthing to get used to along with editing and so on but my love and the flame for my lost passion has been reignited more then ever and dont plan on stopping soon . Along with having lots of content plans and already in the pipeline and also a Revamp to all social media with new header picture and profile picture from a digital contractor I sorced I hope to just gain more traction to the community iv came back to 🔥 Regards KitbashCarnage
Can you list the name of the jigs you used to create the stone and pillars?
Sure thing! Both are from Shifting Lands, and are called the “Brick Cutter Template Set” and the “Pillar Template Set”
@@parttimetabletopper aces, my friend thank you!
Big fan of this ! wow ! great work !
Thank you! 😊
Huzzah,, Battletech!
Huzzah and Hell'sYeah what a wonderful creation you made .
Very cool, it's just big enough to give a sense of scale. Have you considered actually grouting in your bricks? I've seen a few people do that and it's always a high impact detail. I'm also curious how expensive those foam safe spray cans are vs black and grey airbrush primers.
Thanks! I use the spray cans because I don’t own an airbrush. The Krylon Shortcuts are $4 per 3oz can, and the Liquitex is about $15 for 12oz. Also, I actually have grouted the bricks before! I did it for a 3D printed castle and thought the effect was really cool.
@@parttimetabletopper If your in the US try looking up the reviews for the harbor freight airbrush, from the reviews I've seen it's an acceptable beginners airbrush that is at least good enough for priming zenithal priming and terrain once you get good with them, and wont break the bank. Also keep the recite if you hate it just take it back.
That’s the second recommendations I’ve had for that one. I’ll look into it 👍
Such talent and skill. 👍👍
the painted product looks surprisingly good. I say this as you made quite some mistakes along the way... the way you used the brick stencil I assume you had a way too high temperature on the wire... also careful planning beforehand would have made these indent sections look a bit better if you aktual used the stencil for the arches with the hot wire cutter... or even a hand held one... again... the painted version really hid a lot of the errors... and looks very good! sorry for the perhaps harsh critique... Mathias Schultz
Thanks for watching, Mathias, and I’m glad you liked the finished product. To quote the late great, there were no mistakes, just happy accidents. It’s easy to turn small imperfections into something that gives the piece character or to just cover them up. For instance, the arch indents getting burned by the hot wire knife meant I didn’t have to texture the stones before painting. My goal for every build is to create an awesome piece that enhances the game table, and I think this achieved that. 🤙
Wow. Holy crap.
Turned out Great! Fantastic Job.
Thank you!
Très joli! Nice video! A massive project like this also takes a lot of storage space. Is that a problem that you've encountered yet?
Thanks so much! I have a smaller house, and my shelves are almost at capacity. Luckily, most of the large projects I’ve made have been for other people. I simply build it and ship it out 📦
Anyone else having issues finding the $1.25 Tree foam boards? I'm wondering if it's just a local problem or if they've stopped selling them. Also that colosseum turned out fantastic!
It’s definitely regional, and I go through issues from time to time. I restocked last year, but had to drive 30+ minutes to find some. I went through a phase where if I was ever far from home and saw a Dollar Tree, I’d swing in and grab a couple boards if they had them.
@@parttimetabletoppergreat tip, I guess I need to go on a hunt lol
Very nice! I love it!
Thank you! 😊
Hello from France. C'est sublime ❤
Merci!
The board looks great, and I LOVE that little boat. Wheredja get it?
Thanks so much! I bought the boat on Etsy. Found the link to the shop/item here: www.etsy.com/listing/1092500224/
awesome job!!!
Wow! You're project looks great! I really dig it.
Really cool
This looks incredible!
👏👏👏
Nice video! Thank you! Re: hex nuts - I personally use wood screws instead of nuts. Works well and it adds balance to the pieces.
Thank you! I appreciate it, as always. I’ve found that having all of the weight isolated at the bottom with a zinc nut tends to keep it standing better than distributing the weight evenly with a screw. When you bump it it’s more likely to wobble back into place. Maybe a fun experiment to try side by side and see what’s preferred.
So cool. 👍🌳
Really cool. 👍
