    Hey there crafting community! This coliseum is one of the most intricate buildings I’ve ever made, just behind the Moathouse ( • I Built The Moathouse ... ). It’s an advanced level project for tabletop gamers who want to have an impressive, static, large battleground for all of their intense encounters.
    I built this for a client who specifically requested the layout and design, and I might just have to make one for myself now.
    This particular fighting arena is great because it provides a dynamic and engaging setting for your game sessions. The arena is removable from the base if you’d ever like to change the setting too.
    Hope you guys enjoy this video, and enjoy making your new arena even more! Feel free to shoot me a message if you have any questions about the build. Happy crafting!

    The arena looks awesome. You can always make the arena bigger if you magnetized in spots.

    Très joli! Nice video! A massive project like this also takes a lot of storage space. Is that a problem that you've encountered yet?

      Thanks so much! I have a smaller house, and my shelves are almost at capacity. Luckily, most of the large projects I’ve made have been for other people. I simply build it and ship it out 📦

    Very cool, it's just big enough to give a sense of scale. Have you considered actually grouting in your bricks? I've seen a few people do that and it's always a high impact detail. I'm also curious how expensive those foam safe spray cans are vs black and grey airbrush primers.

    • @parttimetabletopper
      @parttimetabletopper  7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thanks! I use the spray cans because I don’t own an airbrush. The Krylon Shortcuts are $4 per 3oz can, and the Liquitex is about $15 for 12oz. Also, I actually have grouted the bricks before! I did it for a 3D printed castle and thought the effect was really cool.

      @@parttimetabletopper If your in the US try looking up the reviews for the harbor freight airbrush, from the reviews I've seen it's an acceptable beginners airbrush that is at least good enough for priming zenithal priming and terrain once you get good with them, and wont break the bank. Also keep the recite if you hate it just take it back.

    Anyone else having issues finding the $1.25 Tree foam boards? I'm wondering if it's just a local problem or if they've stopped selling them. Also that colosseum turned out fantastic!

    • @parttimetabletopper
      @parttimetabletopper  7 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      It’s definitely regional, and I go through issues from time to time. I restocked last year, but had to drive 30+ minutes to find some. I went through a phase where if I was ever far from home and saw a Dollar Tree, I’d swing in and grab a couple boards if they had them.

      Thank you! Not specifically for this build, but in general absolutely. Jeremy’s one of the big OG TH-cam crafters, and his channel helped me build a solid foundation of techniques and recipes when I was getting started. Neil from Real Terrain Hobbies was another big one. This build in particular drew a lot of inspiration from the Coliseum from Tabletop Witchcraft, a couple battle maps I found online, and reference art my buyer sent me earlier this year.

    the painted product looks surprisingly good. I say this as you made quite some mistakes along the way... the way you used the brick stencil I assume you had a way too high temperature on the wire... also careful planning beforehand would have made these indent sections look a bit better if you aktual used the stencil for the arches with the hot wire cutter... or even a hand held one... again... the painted version really hid a lot of the errors... and looks very good! sorry for the perhaps harsh critique... Thanks for watching, Mathias, and I’m glad you liked the finished product. To quote the late great, there were no mistakes, just happy accidents. It’s easy to turn small imperfections into something that gives the piece character or to just cover them up. For instance, the arch indents getting burned by the hot wire knife meant I didn’t have to texture the stones before painting. My goal for every build is to create an awesome piece that enhances the game table, and I think this achieved that. 🤙
