Like people who were alive when Kennedy was assassinated, I’ll never forget where I was during 9/11. Freshman year of college. In my basic electricity class, I thought wanted to be an electrician lol. The teacher came in and said, a plane just hit the World Trade Center ! I thought what a terrible accident! A minute later he comes back “another plane just hit it!” That’s when we all knew. What a dark and scary day. Kids today just don’t understand the feeling we all had, to them it’s just history, but we lived it and experience it,whew what a day. What do I do to stand against evil? Every time I stand at the pulpit and proclaim God’s word, I’m taking a stand against evil. I know that not a little thing but it’s true

I'm observing the day by smoking one of my corncobs---can't get more American than that. On that 9/11 morning, I parked my car in the lot adjoining my law office and headed in. Somehow, the feeling in the air was different. Inside, I heard two lawyers and a secretary talking about something that seemed to make no sense. When I was told of what happened, I walked across the street to the coffee-and-doughnut shop to think the situation over. The place was crowded, and nearly everyone was staring at the large television set. People's coffee was getting cold, since nobody looked as though they remembered ordering it. I cannot remember what we did for the rest of the day in the office.

I was, unfortunately, quitting my time at ITT as a student, before I graduated (long story) not realizing that I has been put on the Students of the quarter list for my outstanding grades when someone from the admin office said that a plane just crashed into the WTC....I couldn't fir the life of me figure out how they were going to help that pilot and crew and before I knew it, another plane hit the other tower. 😢 It was then that we knew this was no coincidence. Everyone is confronted by evil in some form almost every day. I don't know how exactly I stand up to it. I would like to say that my vote is one way I try to stand up to it...but daily? I can't say that I am always able to stand up to it...sometimes I succumb...in some form or another...but, as always, we get up, we ask for forgiveness, and we try to keep going and do better the next day.

I was working on a project in Aylesbury in the UK, I am from the Netherlands but when it happened the office went quiet and we started looking at the TV's on what was happening. The craziest stories where told. When i was at the Birmingham Airport for a flight back to Amsterdam, All flights where delayed and strange stories where told, about planes that where short out of the sky by the US Air force. When i finally arrived in Amsterdam and was waiting for the shuttle bus to take me to the hotel their where several Arab People waiting for their shuttle bus, and when the pictures where shown that the plans flow in to the Towers they where cheering, then I knew the world has changed. SO from that day forward we have history from before and after September 11th 2001. One things is sure, the world is looking different to people who practice the Muslim faith, is that good or not good, I would say NOT Good. But one thing I know the World has changed because of this terrible attack. Have a good day and may all rest in peace those who where affected by this tragedy.

Yes Steve things have never changed the feuding is still going on in our inner cities. The people like the Hatfields and McCoys brought the feuding from Scotland. Have you heard of The Baker-White feud it was a violent conflict between two families in Clay County, Kentucky that lasted from the 1820s to 1932. The feud was one of the deadliest in the history of the United States east of the Mississippi River, with an estimated 150 lives lost. I try to be ay peace with myself. Very interesting topic and a little depressing...but, it is what it is. I got to think about this very idea over the long weekend as I helped to move my Mom out of her apartment and into a nursing home. Everything that we packed up told me all that she had cared about...whether it was trivial or not. Each item, each paper, each note...they spoke of what she cherished and was interested in at the time...and once everything was boxed up and out of sight, you think about how, for the most part, all of that is gone. No one else will care for most of those things in the way that she did ever again. So, what do we store in Heaven then? (Is that truly the very first online storage before we even realized it?!) So much to think about. Have a great day! Until next time...

My mom's decline started in 2019. While she was convalescing with us, my wife and I traveled regularly three hours to the house where I grew up to clean and renovate it for her return. We then went through a similar process when we had to sell her house and move her to an independent living apartment near us in 2023. And then we went through it again emptying that apartment when she went into nursing care early in 2024 before passing away this last Christmas. In short, I know exactly what you mean. I do like your idea that Heaven was the original online storage!

Amazing video sir! Absolutely beautiful meerschaum and beautiful pipe! I am currently smoking a leather wrapped estate pipe from 1925 myself so almost 100 years old. Very deep but yet lightly delivered topic! Many humans have tried to place a physical reasoning behind the exactly what it truly means to control and understand all of the different perceived dimensions, but only God truly understands! Have a great evening sir!

Enjoyed the commentary. SWR is my favorite codger blend. And I agree, in a cob is best!

Awesome as usual... From a psychological point of view, to a large extent, our emotions create our perceptions of reality. For this reason, expressive poetry has much to offer regarding our understanding of reality. Exact sciences also provide some discoveries on the realities of the universe. However, there are aspects of the real that only god knows, and we may never find out; that`s alright because we`re likely not supposed to know or understand. Corpus Hypercubus depicts this quite well. As for the pipe you`re smoking, it is a beauty. I wish it could tell the stories from its past, it would have been so interesting 😉

@@siriuszenith4512 Keen points as always, my friend. Glad you enjoyed it. Your comment reminds of a poem a friend of mine once wrote. I’ll have to make an episode about it. And yes, it would be wonderful to hear what that pipe could say!

Thank you, my friend! After completing the video, I savored the rest of the pipe, and it smoked wonderfully for a very long time.

I recently discovered Malcolm Guite, love his channel. When you said "I dont understand and that's ok!" Something about that lifted some weight off my chest. Really enjoy your videos. And what a beauty of a pipe!

Glad you enjoyed it! I can guarantee that treasure of a pipe will be in many more. As for not understanding something, I find that the longer I live and the more I learn, the more comfortable I am in admitting that. There is no shame in not understanding something.

Steve that is a beautiful pipe. I like to believe that my great-grandfather smoked one like that. I have a newspaper clipping of a pipe club he belonged to called the goose Town smokers casino. I wish I knew what kind of pie he smoked. Or better yet had his pipe. I have always been fascinated with that painting there's just something about it that speaks to me. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Very best regards Ron

I am not at all surprised that you like this painting, Ron, since you and I seem to share so many interests. As for the pipe, it is shot to the top as one of my favorites.
