I was once quiet and shy in my youth and early manhood. But was involved in a motorcycle accident and spent month's in a coma and in MD's shock trauma. Had a brain injury along with fractured bones. Now I will not shut up and talk to everyone about anything. Love the estate pipe, and enjoy smoking a pipe with your videos.
Good morning Steve. Working in retail one of the things that helped me overcome being a little shy. I love talking to people you can learn so much because everybody has a story to tell. Cheers Ron
I have gone through phases in my life about being conversational. For the most part now, when going about my daily routine, shopping, etc., I just want to get done and get home. There have been times when I became best friends with somebody standing in a supermarket line!
I have many thoughts of engaging with others around me, but tend not follow through with those impulses. However, on the occasions that I do, I am often rewarded beyond measure. I met me wife of 18 years that way, and met my now dearest friend just earlier this year when following an inclination to speak with him and wife.
Being autistic, i don't tend to like small talk, but I'll try my best at it at work in effort to develop more amiable relations with coworkers. That said, I tend to take the conversations into deeper or more esoteric directions than are usually expected from such chatter. I guess i just can't help myself -- less significant subject matter is just not my cup of tea.
I have to admit that "small talk" is something I have had to train myself to do. I would much rather chat one-on-one with someone and go deeply into a topic.
I’m really not a great conversationalist lol but I do get caught up in a few conversations. Seems that I’m at the age where other people think they know me or mistake me for someone else. And it’s pretty much the same if I drop by my old work place or some store.
I hate this phone. It does things I don’t like it to do. Anyway, my mother told me I was an introvert when I was a kid. Now, a retired old man, I’m probably a recluse, but I do like to talk to people. Yesterday, I was riding my bicycle and got stopped at a work zone. I began talking to the young fellow who stopped me. After a while, a pickup with a trailer pulled up behind me. The road worker said, “I’m going to let this guy go around you.” He had a big generator on the trailer and I assumed he was one of the workmen and we kept talking. A little later, another pickup came up behind me and the flagger said he was going to let him through as well. We kept talking. Finally, after a while, I asked if I could go through. He said, “Sure.” He called his partner and told him that he was sending a bicycle rider through and I went on. I guess he liked to talk too.
@@charleslathe4598 What a wonderful story! My understanding that being an introvert or extrovert has more to do with what kinds of situations energize you and which leave you drained. I have a very large personality, which people mistake for being extroverted. My personality allows me to talk with many people, but too much of it wears me out and I crave time alone.
Hi. Thanks
I very much like to talk and enjoy a good conversation as well. Especially in an explorative sense.

@@ronaldpoppe3774 Yes! Everyone has stories, and it was wonderful to hear and become part of them.

Acting on such impulses can indeed to blessings beyond measure. What a wonderful story regarding your wife!

LOL! As long as they are mistaking you for a nice guy, I guess all is well!
