I like to watch the tobacco packing rituals of other pipe, smokers, and also their cadence. It’s partly looking for ways to improve my own smoking experience, but also I think it creates a sense of camaraderie.
I love to watch how others smoke their pipe, slow and steady, or puffing like a freight train like our old friend Matches. There is such a diversity in the pipe world, from pipe shapes, the color of the pipe, the color of the stem, smooth or rusticated, to the different tobacco to choose from. That's what makes pipe smoking fun and unique.
I like it all! I like the sound of the zippo, the smell of the tobacco and coffee.i also like to see different tobacco pipes being used. I do not have a Savinelli Bing’s yet but I do have a Merchant Service pipe,… love it, I’m smoking it now with some Lane BLWB. Happy smokes.
unfortunetly one of the my pipe smoking plesures is hard to find these days (been smoking a pipe for55-60 years). I love the smell of walking into a brick and mortar pipe shop.. It can be a transforming experience, especially an old one. The smell of tobacco, and new pipes, yeah I really miss that.
That is why I always try to purchase something, even if it is just a package of pipe cleaners, whenever I do visit a brick & mortar store. I want to do whatever I can to help them stay in business.
That tamper! I love it. My 16p nail, all polished up, works beautifully as well. 🍻 Also, I'm fairly certain that chomping down on the mouthpiece is "unacceptable" in many circles.
It’s all about watching the lighting up ritual. All the loading, packing, adjusting then the anticipation of yhe flame to the bowl. Big column of flame and smoke and the sound of the smokers puffing. It’s even better with the light after the char light, ending in thick dense pipe smoke from the mouth. Wow.
I love watching old movies and TV shows with pipe smoking characters.Fred McMurry on My Three Sons seemed to use the pipe as a tool to solve family problems or give sage advice,by the way he would hold and gesticulate with it.Another example would Be Inspector Maigret in the Gorges Siminone novels and TV shows. The pipe was a sort of object of contemplation that helped him solve his cases. It was there in every scene.
Enjoy the aroma, the pipe, the beard, the persona of the pipe smoker.

Happy smokes.
By the way I got a Savinelli Bing’s the other day.
Something about the vibe of cleaning my pipe after the last bowl of the night. With my night time jazz playing on the radio. Love it!!
Ahhh...nighttime jazz! Is there any other kind? I love good jazz, but I can only listen to it at night. Thanks for the comment!

I saw a tamper made from a spent casing, so I just had to give it a try.
@@PerkinsPipes Absolutely. I think I'll try one myself. 👍

My friend, that could be made into a poem! And isn't that dense cloud just the best?
@@PerkinsPipes the best. I’d love to get lost in it. Thanks for the comments, and all your work.

Love it! I am familiar with My Three Sons, but not the others. Will have to check them out. Thanks for the comment!
