I think these are the same bricks BlueBrixx uses for their Specials sets. I had these kind of problems with some of those sets too when building bigger "walls". It seems that one has to avoid too complex building technics with these bricks but als too simple technics. Edit: I think the bricks are by Qunlong.

@@klemmkraft9000 Oof... I knew Qunlong has issues with some of their Technic parts but I didn't expect it to be this bad with standard bricks. Their much needed "Jing" branded initiative to update their molds seems to have gone pretty chaotic and now seems to be over without a reliable improvement in brick quality, much like what Xingbao did when they updated molds without actually getting rid of the old crap ones in practice. Not sure I have much patience for this stuff left when there are reliably better and improving brands like GoBricks, CaDA and Panlos on the market.

I do not have any of the Brick Buddies yet, most of them do not really appeal to me. But I plan to build some Stargate MOCs in BrickHeadz style, I found some on Rebrickable that I like very much.

I put the torso on the stand before connecting the wings. That made handling the whole thing much easier and less fragile. Displaying several Bird-of-Preys next to each other is fun, one can never have a big enough Klingon fleet. Using the Cobi tool is a good idea, the standard bars which BlueBrixx uses are sometimes really annoying. Sadly I do not have any of those tools because I do not have any Cobi sets. But I guess I will get one of the smaller sets just to get one of those cool tools.

@@klemmkraft9000 I definitly recommend you to get some of Cobi sets, they are better quality then Bluebrixx, i would say they are on level with LEGO, but yes that tool for small round pieces is much much better than this long blue one from Bluebrixx, less annoyance when building and you do it faster. Both Bird of Preys looks great together, i think Bluebrixx did mini version but that is no longer available. I dont get every set from Bluebrixx, but when i buy i try to pair them. However in case of Enterprise D, i have large one but not mid version (i dont like mid version at all). Hope wave six is on the way.

Actually I'm quite surprised that all in all the used building technics work quite well. I had feared that it would be complicated to assemble everything without crushing half of the build. I had heard from other people that they had problems with this build but I think when you pay a bit attention this set is really manageable.

Auf der Produktseite des Sets ist dann ein Link einsehbar, der zur PDF führt. Die PDF lässt sich so auch downloaden wenn man das Set nicht bei BlueBrixx oder sogar gar nicht gekauft hat, man muss sich nur einen kostenlosen Account anlegen.

Oh wow, ich habe nicht mit dir persönlich gerechnet. Vielen lieben Dank für das Abo und deinen Kommentar. Es ist sehr cool diese Einblicke aus erster Hand zu bekommen. Jetzt wo du das mit der grünen Limie erklärt hast, leuchtet es mir absolut ein. Ich stand während des Baus auf dem Schlauch und habe wohl das Offensichtliche nicht erkannt. Ich finde dein Design echt klasse, es sieht super aus. Ich freue mich schon auf die kommenden Dioramen.

@@klemmkraft9000 Indeed. It arrived today, time for putting it together. By the way do you plan to get Enterprise D, larger model, i got that on sale and well i still building it. Some methods are quite "interesting" (not wanting to use hard). But hey, once its done, i just remove the warp nacelles and pylons and i have a ping pong paddle.

Haha, yeah, the shapes of these ships really give ping pong vibes. I haven't bought the Enterprise D yet. I'm still hoping that this set gets a revised version even though this becomes more and more unrealistic. This set has been in sale for ages and now they even reduced the price again. I fear even if they sell every single copy left, we are not going to see a new version. It seems that this set isn't as popular as BlueBrixx expected it to be. In the community it is even rumored that BlueBrixx couldn't renew the licensing contract. I used the new sale to get the Bird of Prey. Maybe I will buy the DS9 set, too, soon. I will wait with buying the Enterprise D and the TOS Enterprise. If BlueBrixx really does not continue their Star Trek series then I'm going to bite the bullet and get those sets. I'm just a bit afraid of the quality of the bricks of the early waves of Star Trek sets.

Luckily those chairs can be replaced without any problem. I hope this won't become more difficult in future sets. It's always a bit tricky to find minifigures with appealing custom prints. The best minifigs come with hefty price tags and are sold out most of the time because of the tiny quantity. An alternative is to hire a printing service to print those decals which you can find online directly on minifig torsos and heads but that's not cheap either. I plan to get some TOS minifigs but since Voyager is my favourit Star Trek series I have to buy minifigs of Captain Janeway's crew first.

My biggest issue with those bricks is that those injection marks are so huge and maybe that black looks a bit washed out. The bricks work totally fine but the quality is definitely not on a par with LEGO or Gobricks. Compared to other BlueBrixx sets a price of 6.7 cents per piece is not cheap but I think compared to a typical LEGO movie franchise set with 11 or even 15 cents per piece there is still a huge gap. We can only cross fingers and hope that BlueBrixx' suppliers will improve the quality. I doubt that BlueBrixx will replace their suppliers. For a handful of sets they use Gobricks but I guess this remains the exception.

@@klemmkraft9000 yeah the injection mould points are hard to hide without spending a serious amount on the tooling of the dies. Lego does, but they also use a better quality of ABS and their colour dyes are better. Plus they take a lot of care in sterilising the moulds and material so that there isn’t any foreign material in the mix!

I hope the next wave can keep up with this awesome ship.

@@klemmkraft9000 question is, is there gonna be wave six, i hope it will be. Right now i am i dilema, should i go for Enterprise E or Enterprise D (or Delta Flyer), oh i wish to get all three, but with tiny monthly income, its impossible.

@Zagoreni02A I'm quite certain that we are going to see another wave. They already confirmed that a TOS tricorder is going to be part of it. Sadly they haven't announced any ships yet. I personally like the Enterprise E set but some people think the shape is not done well enough. I would love to build the display sized Enterprise D but I'm speculating on a rerelease of that set. It was part of an early wave and is still sold with the old packaging. They sell the sets with old packaging for a reduced price, I guess they want to get rid of them. Sets of very early waves are worse quality than sets of later waves as far as I know. They already have rereleased at least three revised sets of that wave with the new packaging (TNG shuttle, TOS shuttle, Borg cube). But I guess the old version of the Enterprise D has to be sold out before we get to see a revised set. So far I have avoided sets with the old packaging.

@@klemmkraft9000 I definitly wanted to get Enterprise D, but will wait till new one came with new packaging. Enterprise E is not bad but i wish it has more pieces. Stand is awful, i dont like that shadow like stands, they should make stand similar to that of Voyager and it would be okay. I did hear that first waves were bad in quality.

The Voyager set is great. It is a fun build and extremely sturdy.

Well, I think that the huge Star Trek display models are very detailed but those models are of cause in a completely different scale which does not allow to depict things smaller than several square meters. The shuttles in minifigure scale show a lot of tiny details in the interiour but due to Star Trek's clean look there simply is not so much stuff lying around which could be replicated. I haven't built the DS9 space station yet but it is definitely one of the Star Trek sets on my bucket list even though it doesn't seem to be too detailed. I'm going to have problems storing this huge thing somewhere if I don't want to disassemble it. lol

It really comes astonishingly close to the vehicle from the show which it was modelled after. And it is huuuge

True, I think especially his dinosaur's legs look way better.

In general I prefer accurate models but in this case here I'm absolutely fine with the cartoonish approach. I think this is more or less the best you can do when you want to keep the style of Lego's Great Pyramid of Giza. Normally I store Lego pieces seperately. I have a big box with Lego pieces prior to the colour palette revision of 2004 and a box with later pieces. Bricks by other companies have their own box but here I don't distinguish between the companies, the pieces all end in the same box. When I disassemble a MOC and there is the possibility that I will reassemble it one day then I store Lego pieces and alternative pieces all in the same little box dedicated to that MOC.

I only have a few of my sets assembled right now, I simply don't have enough space at the moment. Also from time to time I sell some sets to invest the money in new sets. I hope in the not so distant future I will be able to dedicate a whole room or part of the attic to my bricks. Then I can do a room tour.

You are right, the green stickers blend in very well. The white stickers don't do so well but as long as the white bricks don't get exposed to too much sun light and become yellow they definitely do well enough for a play set. Maybe a trasparent background would look even better.

The bricks are fine. They are not the quality of LEGO or Gobricks but they work totally fine. There is no problem with the cutch power. The only thing I don't like about them is that they come with ugly injection holes on the studs.

This sounds like a great looking MOC. I absolutely agree with you, the sets are just way too expensive. LEGO does cool stuff but not awesome enough to pay those prices. I almost exclusively buy their sets in used condition. With a bit of patience you can find most sets for a way more sane price then. Or you can build a MOC which can look way more detailed than an official LEGO set.

Thanks for your comment ☺️ Lifting those 1x1 tiles sounds like a good idea, this might solve the problem with the gaps. I was thinking about simply replacing those tiles with 1x1 plates but I haven't tried it out yet. I fear that the angle might be very slightly off and so I will not be able interlock the plates with the problematic segments above.

@@klemmkraft9000 I think both of our ideas are worth a try. I have been fixing quite a few sets over the last years, especially of the first and second wave of bluebrixx Star Trek ships. In the meantime their constructions have improved so much that it almost never happens anymore with the Sets I buy nowadays

They already made a Daedalus as a BlueBrixx Special set a while ago before they had the Stargate licence. They called it Levitarus. For Special sets they don't use bricks by Xingbao but bricks of comparable quality. If I remember correctly they said they will design a proper Daedalus set if the Prometheus sells well enough. So far I had only Pro sets with missing pieces. One set was missing a whole bag, the other one was missing only a single piece. But I had many of their Special sets with missing pieces. It got better in recent months but it is still very annoying. You have to wait weeks for replacement parts because they order them from China. Once the pieces arrive in their central in Germany they will ship them to you. Depending on where you live this can take quite a while. I didn't have much contact with their customer service besides ordering replacement parts. I always received an answer but it also always took some time. I think about a year ago I had a question about a set the customer service couldn't answer. They wanted to contact their development team but I haven't heard back from them since.

True, half the price for the instructions would be a bit more sane for MOCs of this size. You are right, I really should do something about my shaky camera work haha

@@klemmkraft9000 Honestly, your one-handed builds and hand-held camera are part of the charm of your channel. If it isn't broke, don't fix it.

I contacted the guys from superbrickbrothers.de and asked if they would print the tiles for me. I used a font called Bank Gothic for the text. Sadly my assumption that the set uses 4x4 tiles in light bluish grey was wrong. The set uses panels in flat silver. The LEGO company doesn't produce panels in that colour and I don't want to bother the Super Brick Brothers with sending them Gobricks which I ordered from China. That's why I'm going to use stickers which I ordered from avery-zweckform.com
