    About the stargate print issue: the pieces bound to be printed together are put always on black plates. This Black plate is acting as a base and is fixed mechanically in the printing device. The chance of damaging or scratching this "base plate" in the process is given. So the Black plate is never supposed to be a Part of the set itself.

    By the way, the Beliskner is a very nice Set. I love the design, the quality is really good and it was fun building it. Plus there are tons of prints all over it and the little Stargate plate is an awesome gimmick. All that for a price Lego fanboys can only dream of

    This set looks amazing!! I agree that those prints look really nice.
    I find it odd, though, that they would include a black disk to print the Gate on rather than recoloring it in blue, unless the printer needs it black or it damages the piece.
    How well do the BlueBrixx pieces compare to Lego, quality-wise? Do they fit to each other as well as Lego to Lego? And do they connect well to the other brand's pieces?

    • @klemmkraft9000
      @klemmkraft9000  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The printed tiles which are preattached to that black disk are translucent and look better with a blue plate in the back. I have no idea why they didn't preattach those tiles on a blue disc in the first place. Instead we have to detach the tiles from one disk and attach them again to another one. Maybe the printing machine sometimes accidently puts some colour on the disk itself which then would make it useless. We also don't simply transfer those tiles from one disk to another, at the rim we have to place small plates between disk and tiles. But they could have shown that in the instructions if they had decided to only include the disk from the printing process.
      In general for Pro sets they use bricks by Xingbao. Those are definitely not the best bricks on the market. Most of those bricks come with ugly injection holes. The bricks feel slightly differently than those by LEGO but they work perfectly fine. There is no problem with the clutch power. For Special sets they use bricks by another manufacturer (I can't remember the name at the moment). Those bricks are seen as being of slightly higher quality. Nevertheless many of those bricks come with ugly injection holes on the studs, too. Luckily they cover almost all studs with tiles in their sets for adults. I think sometimes they include in these sets also bricks by several companies, I once found a piece by Cada. Older Special sets sometimes had problems with the clutch power but that's a problem of the past. Nowadays the bricks work totally fine but they feel a bit differently than LEGO bricks. I guess the clutch power is a bit higher. A few selected Pro and Special sets come with bricks by Gobricks. For many people those are the best bricks on the market with even better quality than today's LEGO bricks. I don't think that I would go that far but the quality is definitely comparable to LEGO's and the injection points are often even better. The bricks feel like LEGO bricks. In older charges I think the bricks had higher clutch power than LEGO but the quality has always been perfect. Sadly the tiles tend to come with a used look. I would say the glossiness of LEGO tiles is unrivaled. The colours of bricks by all alternative bricks manufacturers often differ very slightly to those used by LEGO. Gobricks comes extremely close but even LEGO sets from different batches come with slightly different colours. All pieces used by BlueBrixx can be interlocked with pieces by LEGO and other companies. I have used a mixture of bricks sold by BlueBrixx, LEGO and many others for MOCs without any problem. If there are huge flat segments of bricks of the same colour in your build then I would try to only use bricks by one manufacturer or only mix LEGO with Gobricks. For my MOCs I use for bricks with visible studs preferably Gobricks. Everything else can be built with bricks of lesser quality. I use for my MOCs only a small amount of LEGO pieces, nowadays I think there aren't many manufacturers with really bad bricks left.
      Oh, wide technic axles, those are horrible in BlueBrixx Special sets. The axles in Pro sets are better.

    Would you recommend this set for my first BlueBrixx set, or start with something smaller? I have not built Lego in years, so I'm not an experienced builder.

      Most BlueBrixx sets are a bit more difficult to build than LEGO sets because they like to use some crazy building techniques to achive way more detailed models. But it's nothing one can't manage, you just need a bit more time to place all those tiny pieces. (But they also sell some sets which are in parts crazy complicated.) In general the BlueBrixx Stargate sets are quite easy to build. This also applies to this set here with one exception: It's a bit tricky to interlock the blue power line (or whatever it is supposed to be) on the ships underside. It consists of several segments which use bars. When working with bars like here you have to be very precise because they don't simply interlock like normal bricks do. Another problem might be to not miste one piece for another when building the tiny stargate. My advice is to simply look at the boxcover. There the pieces can be seen already assembled and in a bigger scale. I don't think that the size of the set might become a problem, the model is small enough to be handled with ease. Maybe because of the Beliskner's powerline as a first set the Aurora would be the better choice if you want to get a Stargate themed set.

      Thank you so much for the generous response. I have my eye on many of their Star Trek sets, and the Stargate sets as well. It seems logical to start with something smaller so I can become acquainted with how to build them.

      @@repentdaily001 Nah. Not needed. I started a few months ago with the NX-01 and then the Beliskner followd by the Aurora. Before that it has been maybe 2 dedades that I last really build something. I surely needed a bit longer than experienced builders. But you will have no problems building it.

    did your powertrain also not fit into the opposite blue connector due different heights? it's like 1 tile too high

    • @klemmkraft9000
      @klemmkraft9000  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I didn't have any problems of this kind, everything is on the same level. Pause the video at 17:51, there the powertrain is well visible. Maybe you forgot to place a plate? The only problem I had was that I wasn't precise enough with placing the pieces on the bars. The whole powertrain was a bit too long. When I adjusted the position of those pieces a bit everything finally fell in place.

    • @RLMemeLord
      @RLMemeLord 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's for sure 1 tile too high, check page 2-53, that connection lifts off the last part of the train

    • @klemmkraft9000
      @klemmkraft9000  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Oh now I see it, too. I haven't noticed it all. Maybe this short part of the powertrain isn't supposed to be interlocked with the rest since it is added directly to the build in step 2-53 and wasn't part of the powertrain segment of the previous steps. I removed the curved slope to have a look at it, just to find out that I haven't connected the blue pieces. Thanks to the slope this is not visible when looking at the completed build.
      postimg.cc/rdt7XjPY
      Nevertheless knowing how it looks below the slope is a bit annoying. Thank you very much for pointing this out, I didn't notice this "flaw" on my own.

      @@klemmkraft9000 Unfortunately bluebrixx needs to learn abit more for the next sets i suppose, the cockpit for their 302 is also quite unfinished.. the bars arent even connected to eachother +_+

      It's sad that we didn't get a canopy. The model looks great but the cockpit really is a downer. I replaced it with LEGO canopy 13252. This piece doesn't have the perfect shape and it is a bit too big but in my eyes it looks better than what BlueBrixx did.

    Nice build, not my favorite Stargate ship. I hope they release detailed Daedalus class. Bluebrixx seems good company but their customer service is TERRIBLE! They do not answer your questions and only if you have some missing parts they will respond. From what friend told me, if you send message in German they may respond, if you send in English, they don't even bother, not cool to international customers. Still so far i didn't had any problem with their sets. Its chinese Qingbao bricks but they are okay, here and there dirty (never get any bent one), terrible insertion points but well. Who can afford only LEGOs when they are so expensive and besides, BlueBrixx gave us Star Trek!!! something Lego do not do. I wish only they made a large Akira class, the one they did is small at 505 pieces.

    • @klemmkraft9000
      @klemmkraft9000  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They already made a Daedalus as a BlueBrixx Special set a while ago before they had the Stargate licence. They called it Levitarus. For Special sets they don't use bricks by Xingbao but bricks of comparable quality. If I remember correctly they said they will design a proper Daedalus set if the Prometheus sells well enough. So far I had only Pro sets with missing pieces. One set was missing a whole bag, the other one was missing only a single piece. But I had many of their Special sets with missing pieces. It got better in recent months but it is still very annoying. You have to wait weeks for replacement parts because they order them from China. Once the pieces arrive in their central in Germany they will ship them to you. Depending on where you live this can take quite a while. I didn't have much contact with their customer service besides ordering replacement parts. I always received an answer but it also always took some time. I think about a year ago I had a question about a set the customer service couldn't answer. They wanted to contact their development team but I haven't heard back from them since.

    Thanks for the review, very informative.
    But now I'm a bit sad, because now that Bluebrixx has the license for Stargate we will never get an official Lego set.
    And although it looks decent from far, in details the model just isnt good enough. And i would also happily pay more for a better quality brick. It just looks like they don't mix the plastic and the coloring agent long and thoroughly enough. That marbeled effect on the bricks is just because of the production process, and really not necessary.
    I really hoped that i would like the sets, but its just not what I was expecting.

    • @klemmkraft9000
      @klemmkraft9000  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      The marbled effect is a "feature" of that colour. LEGO bricks in flat silver and pearl dark grey use the same effect, too.
      I agree, I also would pay more for better bricks. I really don't like the injection holes.
      But I'm glad that LEGO doesn't have the license. I think their builds tend to come with less details compared to BlueBrixx sets or good MOCs. Sadly no LEGO license also means we don't get official LEGO minifigures. The upcomming BlueBrixx minifigures are not my taste at all.

      Bro... you will get a TON of stickers instead of these prints. And you can double the price easy.
      The color effect as you say it has nothing to do with bad mixing this color. As you pump the mix into the mould the mix will follow the mould pattern. Thats why every brick has the same color pattern but slighty different in tone etc. You never see this with red, green, white etc. because there is nothing added to the color to make them shining etc.
      Before saying anything, you should at least try other brands than lego. There are too many. And there all produce in China, except of Cobi. (Yes, Lego produced its sets in China as well. That is why Lego is not the quality that it used to be. And why they loose more and more fans. Because the price never changes, or are climbing even, but the quality is sinking steadily.
