Yup. I only create content when I'm in the mood for it too Chris. Love the process. For the amount of hours I spend recording, editing and making thumbnails I don't have much to show for it. My 'hobby' costs me much more time and money than I'll ever get back out of it. One thousand subs is just a personal goal/challenge that I set myself after somehow hitting the 500 mark. The pay-off is the interaction with folks (some of who I'd now class as friends) that I've talked with in the comments section. I've had so much handy advice from people over the years, and the banter is great. Makes the numb arse and suicidal GoPros a distant memory 😅
All good points, just post when you can. For me it started out like a diary. I just wanted to log my rides. When I told my friends about doings videos they wanted to check them out. So I started a channel to make it easy for them to check it out on there own time. I usually put one out every week, no pressure i just do it. Now its kind of therapeutic for me. I hate to ride alone, and its hard to get friends to ride with... most just don't have the time like I do. So doing a video is like having friends along for the ride. Its probably the biggest reason I still make videos, even though at times I have no idea what to talk about. I just ramble on about silly stuff half the time. I like your track day vids, maybe someday I will hit the track. My other racing keeps be busy and I don't want to get into another money pit with another form of racing. I know I will get addicted to the track if I go:)
Yes exactly! Track days do become addictive and expensive, but you'll know that only too well from the other racing you do already! 😂😅 Yeah. Started the channel when my dad was ill and he couldn't come along for the ride, so I recorded it and it just went from there really, but as you say, I think it too has become almost therapeutic in some ways but won't be a slave to it which I think for some people, it seems like it may be getting that way in justifying not uploading content regularly.. But as I said, I do get why they also choose to communicate about it. Thanks for watching! 😎👌
Nice vid & you make some good points. I agree with you. I guess some people do it as a living so are more beholden to their subscribers & somewhat under pressure to appease them. Also the reality is that the more videos you release, the more subs you get/keep in general & that's another pressure for some. Although with all that said hopefully you're doing it for yourself primarily & dare I say having a bit of fun in the process too. If not, it's probably time to have a break. Either way though it's important to do the type of channel you want first & foremost & the right subs will come. And if they don't, who cares as long as you enjoy it. If I did it, I'd turn the comments off lol as I just couldn't be bothered with all the daft keyboard warriors etc. Anyway more importantly, belated condolences for your dad & the bike sounds great. Enjoy & ride safe. : )
Thanks buddy, yeah totally agree. But as @Campbellzeroone has said too, you do it when you want and can't always be a slave to it, but likewise, depending on position, sometimes if the channel is that big and successful , you perhaps don't always have a choice. But it's all about fun, so for now, it's just fine. 😁😎. Thanks again for watching!
@@twistandgo3414 Yes totally agree. It definitely should be done when you want to but I guess some vloggers don't feel they have that luxury. Bit sad really as that probably defeats the object of why they started doing it in the first place. However I guess the moral of the story is don't become one of them! : )
