Talented Simon Oslender (age of 14) plays the HX3 equipped Hammond B3000 organ, Live recorded on B.A.S.S. booth at OKey Tastenfestival 2012. Cheesy B3000 transistor/LSI core was completely removed in our workshop. We installed the HX3 tonewheel emulator board instead which resulted in a completely different organ with all B3 features.

I have a Roland Juno. I subscribe and want to try to emulate a hammond organ. You have the draw bars, i don't. Im just learning my juno. I actually have a lowrey organ but leat Rned on a hammond. Id like to recreate that sound. Thanks

Great project idea but it sounds like 8-bit to my ear.
Great work Carsten. The crosstalk emulation on the bass notes at 0:34 is almost perfect. Not to mention that that Leslie emulation certainly sounds good for a wannabe.
HOAX was either, ahem, just that or it's long out of production and unobtainable. It's too bad, too, because I don't think I'm alone in having an otherwise unfixable XB-2.

the "choosers" are really frustrating
FPGA stuff always sounds so good, maybe because its more direct, more real somehow.
it is an implementation of the circuit, it is as close to real as you can get with all the convenience of digital. any closer and you'd have to build a tonewheel.

This is a great video! I bought one of these 2 years ago JUST for my HX3 and have told several people how it is the best controller for any hammond hardware or software clone. Thanks Carsten for demonstrating why better than I ever could.

all midi masterkeyboards work of course with the HX3.5 organs... The correct question is if there is a another one with the possibilities of the m-audio code 61 and cheap as the m-audio code 61. Oviously not ✌️😷👍...by the way the work from Carsten Meyer introduced in this video was perfect like always...
yeah, but still "cheap" can mean a difference if for instance you don't need all of the features of the code61 offers, perhaps there are keyboards which offers you 99% or less of feature compatibility at less expensive price, that's what I meant!!!

Frage an Carsten Meyer, ich möchte aber meine Hammond XB2 als Masterkeyboard für mein altes HX3 ohne USB benutzen. leider nimmt das Soundmodul nicht die Drawbars über MIDI an. Wie kann man das einrichten.

Hej Carsten, can you send me your email? I would like to check if HX3 can be deliverd with some tuning, specially for replacing blue leds for red ones (wavelength of blue light is quite disturbing compared to any other color), a traditional LCD with black fonts and green background, and a opaque case (not transparent). Thank you

We'll introduce a WiFi interface for the HX3.5 soon, so wireless control is possible by iOS or Android devices.

Nice! I am going to be working on an additive synthesizer on the new tinyFPGA board next semester. It's much more affordable than the xilinx, but we'll see if its anywhere as capable.
