Since commenting 8 months ago I stumbled into a Hammond X66 offer I couldn't refuse. I listed a Bonvicini Pianacord pedestal accordion on Craigslist last week and pretty much exactly one week ago from right now I received an email from a gentleman offering me a Hammond X66 & original series 12 cabinet for the Pianacord. He had no idea I would even want an organ much less a Hammond X66. He told me the X66 was said to work when he got it, but when he brought it home it didn't play. Cont.

cont.- He pointed out he only tried to hook it up and play it one time and never moved it from his garage after this one time. The organ is fitted with a TREK II Transposer. I have found that players add this when the tone wheel generator fails ( 12 tone wheels btw). I am aware that since the 12 tone wheels are immediately converted to square waves it's not as critical to be original as a true Hammond sine wave organ like a B3. So I am fine w/ the Trek II. The grey wire is loose, am fixing now.

@BOVIST Sounds great, of course the Hammond organ is universally accepeted as THEE organ. There are many of us who love our Hammond organs, but we also would love to see affordable FPGA's of Conn, Gulbransen, Wersi, Dr. - Böhm organ (modules:-), and my personal favorite - Wurlitzer's 4500 (4520). Also Wurlitzer had an electrically similar cousin to the Hammond, the electrostatic reed organ, models 20,30,31, 44,4410,4600,4602. Please take a moment & google article ' Wurlitzer 4600 series organ '

Actually the organ that would be excellent to do an FPGA of is the great Hammond X66. I think the X66 has wonderful headroom and the sampling/modeling would translate very well on an FPGA platform. Not only does the X66 sound great, but it would be interesting to construct an all new 2012 X66 cabinet that would look just like the original and have the same controls, but more streamlined and much lighter. Would anyone else like to see an FPGA of an X66?
