My recently-late, beloved, Italian-born Mother, never measured anything, and she was the best cook in the world. I miss her so much it's excruciating. Thank you so much Stacey for your fabulous ideas, take care of you, and I hope that you feel better soon 🙏🇦🇺❤xx t
I love “what’s for dinner” style videos. I love seeing what other families come up with, especially with food I wouldn’t normally have or I do have and I just don’t know what to do with it.
I love the bread crumb trick. I Made the mistake of checking oil with water recently. Bad I know, idk what I was thinking. Take care of yourself, I love spending time with you.
I am calling my stock powder "chicken salt" from this day forward! And using it in a cheese sauce to bump up the flavor (and save on cheese!) is brilliant! A throwaway line from this episode that was absolute gold. Feel better!
Hey Stacy, Sorry you have those darn flair ups!!! I love that!!! Yum!!! I ad tuna in my salmon patties too. I've made potatoe pancakes, but never thought of the tuna in the mashed potatoes. They look delish. I just learned how to can butter! I watch you and Whipporwill Hollar too. You guys are amazing! Thanks so much!!! Janet
Hi Stacey, sometimes I put my pots into the sink (with a cloth underneath to stop it sliding) when I'm mashing veges. It takes the pressure off my shoulder, being lower down.
Stacey, I learnt a trick of peeling eggs really quickly by using the inside of the spoon once the egg has been cracked I push the spoon under the shell and peel away by lifting the shell away from the egg, I dipped the spoon in water every now and then as it lubricates making it slide easily. Sorry I’m not the best at explaining things.
Lovely watching you outdoors and prepping your gardens. Listening to all the animal noises and that bleating goat. You did alot.It was an enjoyable video. Love to see more😊. Take care of yourself.
I hope get well soon Stacey! All these meals look so delicious I bet your kitchen always smellsgood. The last dinner oh my gosh... I just love a nicely roasted meat and the sides ❤It was royal ❤I am looking forward to your next video :) Lots of love from Budapest ❤
Here in the States we have a brand of healthy bread called Dave's Killer Bread, and there's a 21 grain one that looks just like your bread and it is my FAVE!!! I really enjoyed this one withe the meals you made. Sorry you were hurting, I hope you've been able to get some rest and are on the mend. Love & BIG HUGS to you!
Hi hun, ooo you didn't look well hun...hope you are feeling better now. Thankyou for your video...really enjoy them. You always have great ideas... You look after yourself. Jasper says hello to Trix xx
I so relate to your way of cooking as that’s my way too - see what I’ve got and just make something that comes to mind. We’ve only got one child left at home now and he’s super fussy so that has taken quite a bit the joy out of cooking I must say, so I like watching your enthusiasm and can- do attitude - as you say, it’s the kiwi way - well at least for us who have been around for a while, lol. Thanks for your videos from down here in the South Island❤
My parents never grew leeks in the garden, so I did not grow up eating them. Since it is one of your favorite veggies, I would enjoy seeing various ways to prepare them.
Ty so much for your videos, when I have a heap of cooking and washing up to do, you keep me going, I watch you in my kitchen. You give me encouragement to get it done!😊
ha ha so get the mystery meat - when we moved we tried to eat up all the freezer meals - often when asked whats for dinner I could only say ' it's brown " until it was defrosted - labels labels labels !!!!
Hi Stacey, hope your daughter & the bub are doing well. Great video, lots of ideas (if only I liked potato 😆). Sorry you’re still dealing with the flare, feeling for you. Healing hugs from Sydney 🤗
Lovely that you use butter, not margarine. Mama uses this swill called can’t believe it’s not butter. I finally quit bugging her about it when i realized she is 96, so she is doing something right!!!
Hope you are feeling better. I have fibromyalgia, and I can sort of understand, take care. Was nice to see you in the NZ Woman's Weekly, congratulations 😊
Enjoyed this video so much but so sorry Stacey that you aren’t feeling well and are having flare ups. I used to cook spa lot like you. Now I don’t cook very much at all. I miss it but I dont have much appetite so it’s not worth it. Thanks for inviting us into your home to watch you cook. I do love it.
I love your recipes, have made a lot of them, I saw you use tinned beetroot, I pickle mine and it's good in the fridge for at least a year, I usually make about 5lt.
Hi from Pukekohe Stacey and Husband! What an awesome team! I hope you are feeling better Stacey. ❤ You remind me of the lady in the Molenberg bread ad on TV with a determined look and focused on reaching your goal. Well done you. Please take care of yourself. You are special. ❤❤❤❤❤
Had many a salad like that in my childhood, now I’m egg and dairy intolerant so they have to be on the side. Hoping your busy life calms down soon and your flares as well. Enjoyed this little snippet video, thanks Stacey.😘🌏
One the last next video could U tell want the green stuff was??? Also, my grandma used to do salad like that in layers but juiced a orange and poured that ontop then covered then frig it then served it up it was to die for... U should make impossible quiche recipes U will never go back and buy the pie shells as it makes itself it's own...don't mind spreading the recipe to the world as it is getting crazier the world...😂❤😂❤😂❤😊😊😊😊
Hope you get some relief at some point, its no fun having conditions that wipe you out like that...thoughts are with you, thank you for your videos, even when you are feeling like that. We understand if you can't sometimes
I don't know how you managed to keep going while having a flare. You're a trooper. It was another enjoyable video. I love leeks too - they're so delicious. I plant the root end in the garden (if they have no roots they will sprout in a small plate of water) and I've grown lots of extra leeks this way. I also grow them from seed, but they take a lot longer. Look after yourself!
Takes me back to when the kids were at home. Mashed spud by the mile and yep open the freezer and plan the meal from there. You've reminded me though to cook up some hard boiled eggs to keep in the fridge to have on hand for salads. I always forget - sigh. Take care of yourself. =-)
Hi Stacey, I made your recipe for crumpets , and it was so easy, I bought crumpets non stick rings from Temu, for about $8 a d they turned out really well so I froze them , made my 2nd batch yesterday, I double the recipe
Meals looked great .Ive never tryed putting bread crumbs in the fish cake like you do . I put egg and crumbs on the out side . Gets very messy 😂.i learn the hard way and please to say it will be your way from now on 😊 hope your flare up has settled ..really feel for you ❤
Sorry you have been unwell. I agree with you not using margarine. Why would you when New Zealand has the best butter in the world. I love watching your videos. Hope you stay well.
Have you tried the cheese sauce in your thermie? It's an amazing timesaver ... you don't have to stand and stir. As much as I enjoy making a proper white sauce, the thermie is amazing when you're time strapped
You are definitely starting to make a dint in your freezer! So sorry to hear that you have been having so much pain with your face, thankfully my nerve pain is in my right lower leg so more manageable than face pain. Where is the cheese on top of the tomato? I would have turned on my tiny oven & slapped some cheese on top & grilled it to perfection!! My kind of snack between breakfast at midday & dinner at around 7pm if I am on time, that is!! I stopped to watch your video it is now 12.50 pm so definitely time for blueberries & Greek yoghurt.
Hi Stacey, I saw your article in the Herald, what an amazing success your videos are. Please could you give a shout out to my husband, Howard who has started “gardening in the Kaipara” . He has also stopped work and is growing all our food and just started his channel. He is focussed on growing and feeding us, not cooking ! Thank you Go well , aroha Lyn Dawson 😊

You take a lickin' but keep on tickin'. Great work Stacey. Admiration and kudos to you for keeping going. Love your videos - it's all worth it, girl.
Thanks so much :)

Hi Stacey, sometimes I put my pots into the sink (with a cloth underneath to stop it sliding) when I'm mashing veges. It takes the pressure off my shoulder, being lower down.

What a clever idea with mashing veg.
Please go rest.

I put pumpkin and potato’s and curry powder in mine they tastes amazing
Extra cheese sauce is a wonderful thing. I usually do double and it saves so much time and faff later in the week.
