We use Zorin as our base OS with Open Media Vault to handle our in-house datacenter. It's not big, just 96 Tb, but it goes smoothly, no lose of any data, very quick, user friendly and reliable. We tried Windows server with disastrous results, and Windows 11 or 10 were not that much better. Although we did try other Linux distro's, Zorin plays very nicely so we're going to stick to what works( at least we didn't have the Crowdstrike fiasco hit us)! And for those idiots who complain that it cannot play games: tell you what... when you have to pay your own bills then maybe you can join the world of adults.

Zorin was my second Linux experience. I used it as a gateway from mac os. Although i did switch to MX in the end Zorin holds a place in my heart.

My honest opinion and this is your channel do whatever you want. But i like your Linux videos mainly it bring back the LHG and PuppyLinuxWorld nostalgia. Gaming i like seeing you live stream games because i can hang out in chat while watching you or use it as a podcast. For me i dislike the AI videos, when i see one i click right off but again this is YOUR channel do what you want with it. Love you EB and hope your doing well

I love this! Great job showcasing how flexible and powerful linux/proton are for running games. DON'T PLAY DESTINY LIKE THIS THOUGH. For any existing D2 players, bungie WILL ban your account for running the game via emulation. Just wanted to give a heads up before anyone loses progress.

Hi EB Is there some reason why you are not using the amdgpu driver for your RX 580? It is the open source AMD driver built in to the Kernel. Way better option than the noveau driver which is the open source version of the Nvidia driver.

I dont think windows will ever have a sub. Microsoft doesnt even care if you use pirated windows, it still lets you sign in and buy their productivity apps. Windows is just their gateway to other services and the average user doesnt disable telemetry so they farm their data for ads.

The Windows subscription is likely to be bundled with Office 365 to make people think it's good value. A lot of people are addicted to Word and Excel (probably more than are addicted to Windows itself)

You shouldn't disagree with my comment you are awesome you helped me back in the day with your videos when I tried Ubuntu 12.04 and helped me learn linux the same thing when I tried to learn manjaro your videos helped me again even used puppylinux because of you. EB you helped me out a lot during the years and I want to say thank you I wouldn't be windows free if it wasn't for people like you.

I use ZorinOS on my laptop an ASUS gaming laptop with a ryzen5 and an Invidia gtx1650, and on my desktop wich is a ryzen 7 cpu with a amd graphics card. I have treid many distro's but now I am stuck on Zorin and to use other distro's I use distrobox and run them in a container. Too anyone thinking about switching to Linux, once you use snaps and flatpaks the distro does not matter so much and Zorin is a nice distro and it runs wine out of the box.... As for your channel and doing more Linux stuff except gaming, try to do Linux tasks without using the terminal too much. I enjoy the terminal, but most Linux starters fear the terminal. Good luck with you channel and you just earned one subscriber....

I have turned off updates so my Windows experience is good.

I have just said goodbye to Windows 11 and installed MX Linux KDE Plasma on my gaming PC and laptop following your video entitled "Why MX Linux is Simply The Best in 2024". So I am very new to the Linux world and learning every day. I must say the Zorin OS is a good starting point for Windows 11 users who want to install Linux, but tools available in MX Linux made my decision easy.

If Windows go over to a subscription I can see a lot off independent computer shop advertising to install Linux on your pc.

Zorin OS is basically pay distro; just use Ubuntu 24.04 LTS. Linux Mint is basically just Ubuntu but without snaps and that Cinnamon Desktop. Ya, I got an ASUS laptop back in 2021 with a 6 GB VRAN Mobile RTX 3060.

ehh wrong mate i enjoy your gaming more then your linux videos nevertheless with that said i also do watch your linux content ... your a variety of videos as categorized . don't by any means delete your gaming videos ... they are great specially trucking . i don't get much views on my trucking videos and i still make then because that what my channel is about simulation specially with trucks , that's what started me on the trucking because of your gaming videos they are very enjoyable ..but thats you mate its your channel you do with it as pleased but just because people don't enjoy gaming does not mean others don't or do . its not all about the views you know . like my titanic videos they only gave me 2k views each ... it's the content yes i've noticed that , does that mean am going to stop uploading trucking simulation games ahh no am going to upload what i like doing best that's what the channels are all about i've been working on my youtube channel for almost 2 years . and all i have is 165 subs .. and does that stop me for the uploads of the trucking nop . but its up to you either way i enjoy your content long time fallowed and still fallows you till end of times .

Kind sir, thank you very much for your review and recommendation. Post listening to your video and absorbing your review along with completing a little more research on Zorin OS (along with trying Linux Mint), I plunged into Zorin OS fully today. I literally formatted my SSD containing the ridiculously bloated and intrusive Windows 11 and ran Zorin all day on my desktop and am very, very impressed thus far. This OS is absolutely beautiful, it is silky smooth and is very fast and snappy with ease of use. In addition, this OS offers a great UI that offers simple tailoring and customization of the OS interface in relation to design and functionality of it. Everything just works with Linux too. I am a little in awe to be honest, as I have not really used Linux too much to date but am sold on day one. The visuals within this UI are majestic I must admit...premium indeed. We are sadly being taken by Microsoft. I actually ended up getting Zorin Pro; I could have tailored the free version easily but do believe in supporting strong efforts made as to what I have seen in Zorin - I do not regret this version a bit. The open source programs are very powerful. They do come with a bit of a learning curve but if you are okay with office and design applications, you will catch on quickly with little issue. This has been a very sound upgrade on day one. Thank you again for sharing - well done within your advise and review. Cheers!!

I love your contents and in the same time in search on a up to date AMD Graphic Driver install lol I hit a brick wall with the out dated way of installing it on YT hahaha. I just installed Java JRE and made sure echo Java was working right as well which made websites dependent on Java work like magic. Maybe if you have a idea of installing it be a nice up to date AMD Driver Vid hahaha.
