Hey! Everyone has a super different perception of pain and tolerance and if I’m honest it’s so hard to predict or describe until you’re experiencing it yourself. However, on the whole I’d say I only had a few days where the pain was pretty intense (prescribed medicine helped massively) but for the most part it’s SUPER UNCOMFORTABLE rather than painful. I don’t regret it one bit and would go through it all again knowing what I know now so I hope this gives you some comfort. Wishing you all the best.

Hey, super normal… it’s something you just have to accept and trust the process. Most likely it will go down or not be as ‘flared and wide’ in time, but it’s not guaranteed. Hoping recovery goes well for you!

My numbness went away completely after 3 months! Super grateful to have full sensation back everywhere. Hope recovery is going well :)

Hey, apologies for only replying now. I was told in 2015 that I’d need jaw surgery… in terms of getting my teeth aligned and ready for surgery/ signing the consent forms for a surgery date, it was under 5 months between signing them and the date of surgery.

I had a really good experience! Good luck!

Hello, Hope it all went well and recovery will be great! Honestly, it’s all about patience… you’ll have to wait for at least 6 months to know and around a year for the most accurate results of your new nose and jaw aesthetics. Wishing you all the best!!

I have an underbite and tbh I have zero issues at all like breathing, chewing, sleeping etc, and my underbite is not that obvious but my side profile is a lil ugly. But since my underbite is not severe I'm worried I'll be put far back the waiting list or they might tell me that if I want to go through with the surgery I would have to do it private (I don't know if that's ever happened with anyone). Tbh I have no idea why I'm even getting free treatment considering I have zero health issues apart from aesthetics lol. I got referred to the orthodontist when I was 12/13 by my dentist, told that I would have surgery when I'm 18 and started my braces at 15. I haven't questioned shit lol and I'm just going along with what they plan for me. I'm thankful for my orthodontist 🙏

I’ve had jaw surgery about 3 weeks ago, they ended up moving my upper jaw forward but my cheeks and nose were flat too, by bringing it forward it caused so much facial harmony and balance but I’m still pretty swollen at the moment and from the front my nose seems flared and wide which I hate😭 I’m not sure if it will go away but lmk if you’d like an update on that

@@flawlessnightcore5621 no my surgery was supposed to be on july 24 but it was cancelled and moved to august 💀. Anyways I looked at a lot of UJS results and your nose will shrink as swelling heals but it will be wider than before. I think 90% of the time it doesn't look bad though and something only you will notice. I'm excited about the facial harmony, I hope it'll fix my flat midface. I hope your healing and results turns out amazing :)

Double jaw surgery!

I had double jaw surgery for an underbite plus all four wisdom teeth removed… this was post surgery and hence extremely swollen!!

I can see from the description she got doble jaw surgery and now she take good care of her jawbone by not eating big chunks and not forcing her jaw ❤

Hello, sorry for only getting back to you now! They were fully aware that I was a student and asked for my preferences which they tried to fulfil. Initially my surgery was supposed to be at the start of July but there was an emergency patient so mine was delayed by a month as that person took my surgery place. Hope that helps - yes mine was done via NHS :)

Sorry for only just seeing this now! How are you? For me, I’d say I began eating normally again (minus biting into an apple or carrot) around 2/3months!

@@AmyChenYT I am doing good. Im in my third week now. I am very positive now. I look and feel normal again. As if i never had the surgery :) But still have to wait 2 weeks untill i can chew again. I hope i can re-learn the chewing fast. I got a vacation planned in november lol. Or else this might be a problem. I hope ur doing fine aswel. Thank u for the reply :)

Yay that’s so good to hear, no worries about replying!! I’m sorry I didn’t reply at the time. Honestly the 2 weeks will go by very quickly so just think of it as a temporary inconvenience for a lifetime of correct chewing and eating whatever you want aha!! I’m doing great thanks, it’s been 14months now, so so crazy!! Enjoy your vacation, best wishes from me 😊

I’d say it took me a full 8months

Chin is definitely smaller as it’s no longer protruding, imo my face has got wider/looked more rounded

No, the grey desk lamp was mine! But I actually didn’t use mine as there’s a light beam underneath the overhanging shelving unit which is super bright and covers any work done at the desk!

Yes, definitely space on the desk for a TV (depending on the size) as I’ve seen other flat mates do this. However it will obviously limit your space.

Yes, bathroom is a wet room and has a shower!

Very happy with my results, swelling probably lasted for 4 months in my case!

It got wider as the base of my nose (attached to my upper jaw) was moved forward!

I actually didn’t do any exercises and was never told to by my surgeon/orthodontist... I only did a few exercises after seeing videos and I probably didn’t do them any more than on two separate occasions. I guess just eating and talking helped. Good luck! Time and patience really is the key :)

@@AmyChenYT well I had both my joints replacement surgery so that is why my surgeon told me to do excercise but anyways thank you so much for your time to reply me back it really means a lot.
