Hi, thank you so much for posting. I am now day 13 post op. I have been eating soft food for a couple of days now and have found eating really strange. I can taste everything fine but can’t feel my teeth/ chewing when I eat… Is it the same for you? How is your lower lips and chin area? Getting some sensation back yet?

Hey no worries! Thanks for watching and congrats with the surgery! I could feel my teeth when I ate but it’s all very independent and I’m sure you’ll get feeling in time. I was super lucky and basically got all feeling back after 3 days... apart from the area between my nose and upper lips, below the eyes and still to this day the very back of my upper palate/inside of my mouth.

@@AmyChenYT I think you are 2/3 weeks ahead of me. What is the most adventurous food you have eaten so far?
Mine is chopped up chicken and it’s delicious… other than that I have been living on soft food such as egg and bread. Anything else seems to required so much effort as I don’t have much strength in my teeth to chew and of course my inside of mouth is still numb.
Are you happy with the result?

Hey, in time you’ll get there... hopefully not too long. I can eat anything now so it’s pretty much back ‘to normal’. Super happy with the results and the op feels like it was ages ago somehow.

I’m very happy for you. I’m entering week 6 so you must be at week 9? Hope all is good?
I’m eating more now… although I am still coming to terms to my new face as my nose has changed quite lot and part of my face is still quite numb and ‘tight’ so my smile is quite unnatural. I’m 36 so my recovery may be a bit slower than yours! But yesss i keep telling myself to trust the process!

May I ask how much weight have you lost ??

    • @AmyChenYT

I didn’t actually lose any, perhaps +/- few lbs (most likely water weight, hormones etc)! I made sure I drankkk my calories as I eat a lot at maintenance compared to most as a female... so I didn’t want to decrease my calories or lose a drastic amount of weight only to put it back on and more!
