Black Spot on Tomatoes 🍅 After Rainy Days
Thanks for sharing! I heard about making potting soil with leaf mould but wasn't sure how. How were your results with this mix compared to what you used before.
Almost everything grew very well. Can't say there was a great and noticeable difference, but it definitely didn't hurt. Stretched my soil, kept some money in my pockets, and added nutrients to the garden. A win win for me. Thanx for watching.
I’ll try this too! Appreciate you for sharing your garden! Take it easy with those peppers 😊
Thanx for stopping by
I learn something new everyday but I am very grateful I have a few fruits growing and so are the gnats! Any suggestion on what to do with bag soil
I've never tried it with bag soil. Don't know if the water would kill the beneficial things in a bagged soil.
How did this turn out any plants harmed also did you ever prune your melon plant looks like over the trellis
This is 1 of my sprays for pest control. It helps. I normally start off pruning, but eventually, it gets away from me
Is this a general spray most main problem is mealybugs? Thanks for responding !!
@Minggglei fortunately I've not had to deal with mealybugs but it is a general spray that I use for most things. The bt is great for pest that chew and the neem seems to work on those soft body pest.
It is my first time on your channel and I have just subscribed. Thank you so much for sharing. Keep up the good work. All the best on this journey.
Thanks for stopping by. Hopefully, my schedule will free up a little and I'll get back to posting more videos.
A little late but would this also work with salvia or mint?
Yes. I do the same thing with all my herbs. I also put in the moisture evaporation packs now. Thanks for watching.
Thank you
Thank you
Nice. This was the only video I could find that specifically dealt with using a dehydrator. We are in Maine and it's not supposed to be a perennial up here, but, we piled a bunch of leaves around a couple of plants 3 years ago and it has Leafed right out every Spring since. Actually just trimmed the plant, that looks like a bush, (has 2 trunks) this morning. We're loving having free sage for our sausage making! TYFS
Thanks for stopping by.
Nicely done Jay! That finished product looks perfect!
Thanks. I'm looking forward to having a lg amount of it this next season.
@GrowingWithJay , have you made any major changes/improvements to the irrigation setup over the last couple years since this video was recorded? Thanks, Steve.
First off, thanks for watching. Now to the good stuff. I actually redid the whole system. I'll just try to give you the details and keep it as short as possible. 1. I garden on a hill, so I moved the main supply shut offs from the side of the garden to the top and ran the lines downhill. 2. Rearranged the zones to include expansion of the garden. 3. Added drain ports to each line at the bottom and wherever I felt water might sit. I would have to fix 2 or 3 cracked pipes every spring. 4. Changed all piping to 3/4 schedule 40 pvc. It's just easier to deal with 1 size piping.
Great info here, Jay! Thank you for the details on the construction and where to source those timers on the cheap. I was thinking about one time for the whole setup but I'm leaning to your setup more and more. Where do you get your 1/4 inch soaker line? Thanks, Steve.
Raindrip 015005T 1/4-Inch by 50-Foot Soaker Hose Tubing for Drip Irrigation, Use in Vegetable Garden, Planters, and Borders, 50-Foot, Black a.co/d/eXBiVa7
Great looking compost pile, Jay! I also use the 4x2 wire fencing for some but in circles- I may convert one into the square w/ posts like yours. That looks nice, big, and effective at getting those temps up!
It was up to 150 degrees 36 hrs ago. It's been working well for me. I'll be adding more layers to it tomorrow.
Welcome back, Jay! The garden is looking fantastic- well organized, healthy, and full of life! Hope you have another great growing season!
Thanx fam.
I have the same problem smebody please hel
I think it's due to over watering
@@growingwithjay1 This is due to the Allium Leaf Miner. It's a new pest caused by flies that puncture and deposed their eggs inside the leaves, the eggs become maggots and eat their way down the bulb, on the way they transformed themselves into oblong, hard-shelled looking insects called pupaes, these pupaes will then bury in the soil and wait for their time to become the adult ALM flies to begin the cycle all over again, in the spring (March-April), in the fall (August-September). ALM attack all the allium plant family, onions, garlic, chives...Professional organic garlic and onion growers now have to grow under cover during the months of infestation.
Please see my answer below.
Beautiful
Thank you
Do you have a video on how you started it? I can’t get mine to germinate to save my life!!!

Welcome Back
Looks great thx for sharing
Thanx for watching.
Hi Jay. Beautiful beets! I'm still working on growing mine. You just toss the seeds? I am going to try that next season because of all the stuff I do, I still cannot get beets, or only a few, two years ago, maybe three😂. Thanks for the reminder, Enjoy and take care
Thank you. I just tossed them this year also, and they are starting to come up in my garden. I do the same thing with my carrots. I'll have to go through the beds and thin them out later when they grow a little more.
@@growingwithjay1 Hi Jay. Thank you for the reminder. Happy thinning. Take care
Very helpful thank you!
I'm glad it helped. Thanks for watching.
Nice harvest. I love your layout for the raised beds.
Thank you. I will be posting again soon.
Thank you for the video. Do you find that the seals release overtime on the jars? Mine stayed sealed anywhere from a week to several months but not longer.
Not that I've noticed. I'll have to go back and check some of the ones I don't use as much.
Great growth in those containers! Way to go!
Thank you
Thank you for the video. I am very new to herbs. I trimmed a bunch of sage and left it to air dry with my thyme. It all turned black and looked like mildew. I’m guessing I did it wrong. Is there another option if I don’t have a dehydrator?
I wish that I could help. I've never tried air drying. Hopefully, with a little more research, you'll find the answer.
Putting on top of BBQ in the warm sun can help dry! Or low temp in your oven!
Awesome harvest!
Thanx
Great harvest 🌱👍🏼
Thanx
Nice garlic Harvest.

Thanx. I'm in Baltimore, so rhings are just starting to produce.
Nice size beets!
Thank you. These are honestly the easiest beets I've ever grown.
You know you got my attention with the title!😂 Can't wait for the juices!😋
Hey baby 😍
Omgosh, your beets are big and beautiful! Jay, I hv been trying to grow beets for a min now, and I hv YET to actually get any to grow. 😂 I literally threw seeds randomly in a few different spots, so hopefully I get at least ONE this summer! Till then I’ll just enjoy watching you harvest yours over the season. 🥰🌱❤️ New sub! Found you by Gardening with Bernie’s recommendation.
Thank you for the support. I really appreciate bernie giving me the shout-out.
This is one of the most beautiful, beet harvest that I think I’ve ever seen on TH-cam. Now I wanna grow some beets! TFS😊
Hey Bernie. I just want to express my gratitude and appreciation for your support 🙏🏾 and give you a big ol. THANK YOU for the shout-out.
I thought I shared it on my community but I didn’t. Just corrected that😊
@@GardeningwithBernie several people have reached out and from you.
Looking good bro .. Much respect Some beet and carrot juice sounds good ..
That's the plan. Thanks for watching.
Nice looking beets. No one eats beets in our household but me, so I only grow a few for juicing and smoothies. 😊
I will either dehydrate them and make a powder for smoothies or juice them. My mother-in-law likes to pickle them with onions, so I'll give her a bunch. This is the first time I've ever grown this many. I literally just poured a bunch of seeds in y hand and tossed them on the raised beds.
Awesome Harvest Bro…Thanks for taking us along…Salute!!!🍃🍃🍃
Thanks for watching
Those are good size beets Jay. I have golden beets growing now. Thanks for sharing 🌿
Always wanted to know if the Golden beets taste any different??? 😊
@Spoon N with Sunshine Homestead yes they are mild and don't have the earthy dirt taste. I'm still working on getting use to the dirt taste of the red ones. They have a lot of great benefits.
👍🏾
You answered my ? For me.
Nice! They look perfectly round. Mine always come out looking crazy lol
These were pretty good looking but there are a few long ones I can see from the tops. They'll just fit better in the juicer
