I think most photography channels on TH-cam are just people taking pictures, but not actual photographers. This is a perfect example. I appreciate the effort, but there’s a serious lack of concept here. For me, photography-especially if you’re shooting with an 85mm-is all about the human figure. And if we’re talking about the human figure, we’re talking about faces, about lives, about eyes full of emotion, about stories. And that’s exactly what’s missing here. There’s no concept, no real connection with the person being photographed. Without that, this just turns into a technical report. But photography is, above all, something deeply human. I started taking photos years ago, on film, with a max of 36 shots per roll. So I had to really think: What do I want to say? What do I want to express? I think that helps develop an eye, and that’s what’s missing here-there’s no vision. Meanwhile, this guy is just randomly snapping pictures in that Chinatown, walking past some incredibly striking people without taking a single shot of them. Disappointing.

Great videos! I am curious why in many of your videos you take a single shot followed up by 3-shot bursts in HS shutter, especially when you posted exif shows SS fast enough to freeze any in shot motion? What are you gaining by doing this? Thanks

I feel that it's likely a trickier lens to use day-to-day, but I find it very intriguing because it's unique. I have the 20mm 1.8 G, and it's a beautiful piece of kit. 🇨🇦

Love the videos and the shots. I’ve worked in Williamsburg the last 10 years, so it’s cool to see the way you look at the neighborhood. Quick question though…can I ask why you’re primarily staying at 2.8? Even for long distance shots. Thinking mostly of the pics you grabbed of the girl on the big mural. They look great, I’m not knocking that at all. More just curious as I’m newer to photography. Are you just trying to keep the iso low and the shutter speed high so you need all of that light? Thanks!
