My girlfriend lives in Brasil and can’t get a visa so I let my 2 dogs sleep on her side. They love it. They usually freak out in the middle of the night protecting me. I never know if they are barking at a Grizzly or a chipmunk. One of them caught a coyote and was going to kill it but we saved it and it bit my son’s hand. I had him get rabies shots.

GMRS' repeater "feature" is 100% useless when you live in an area with no repeaters anywhere near range like I do. At that point it is nothing more than a glorified FRS radio with better signal strength and range to pick up all the garbage put out by weak FRS radios. At that point, MURS can actually be better because while you only get five channels, most if not all of them are probably relatively clear or even completely unused in most areas. FRS piggy backing on GMRS can be an advantage, but at the same time it can be a negative against GMRS. MURS' biggest fault is its 2-watt cap. Ham... meh. Not interested. A payment just to use the same frequencies that are otherwise free to FRS users is bad enough; having to take a test to use a radio on top of a fee is just stupid.

I run cb and gmrs in my truck and at the house. We use FRS radios for hunting and fishing trips.

A former girlfriend got a '98 Discovery. (Her family was very well-off and owned a dealership. She ended up taking it back after about a half-dozen things wend wrong in about 2 weeks. I have stayed away from them ever since. The Grand Cherokee is a glutton for punishment and parts are plentiful, but I'd take the "ugly" Xterra over any of your suggestions. There's a reason why 25 year old Mitsubishis are so scarce.

We may have sodas over here but we prefer water overall since Washington is literally WASHING a ton....

Yeah pretty much that radio is garbage. I watched another guy make a video about the Randy FCC. Literally he was in his house talking to his buddy on the Randy FCC handheld CB radio. With the rubber ducky antenna. He was able to communicate clearly and his buddy was 9 miles away. Now that's a reliable portable CB radio. And the Randy actually puts out 4 watts. I'm thinking I'm just going to go with the Randy CB FCC.

I'm still not sure which one to buy . This portable CB Radio. This portable looks exactly like a portable ham radio. Which one might confuse. The Randy handheld CB radio . Looks just like it's supposed to look like a portable CB radio. I heard this other radio only has 2 Watts. Where an actual CB radio can go up to 4 watts

Since you're already separated by the centerline pole anyway, it seems like you could put two Kakadu Blockout cot tents side by side and have a truly rugged option that better addresses the complaints you have. Plus some room for your awesome camp dog. Just a thought.

I have a little Yaesu FT1XD for ham technician stuff. But I just picked up a little KG-935G+, I like them both. I don't even talk much I just like playing with radios.

I bought one recently and they don’t ship with any mounts. The mounts have to be purchased separately in 2024. Unless there’s some loaded option you get to choose from?

They do the same thing with the Cherokee Trailhawk and it's a monster once you put a 2-in lift on it.

I wasn't able to see anywhere in the literature and manual where it can do more than 600w in power inverter mode? Perhaps this model is different in other parts of the world than it is in the US but it seems to only be 1200w for surge and 600w continuous sine wave power.

My overlanding vehicle is a 1991 Mazda b2200, built on the same platform. Has the CHEAPEST chinese walmart street tires 100 HP to the CRANK 2wd, and a payload less than most Civic's now a days, but the clearance, lightweight durable platform has brought me well off road where 4WD cars would hesitate. Get past mud pits, have done shallow 2 and a half foot river crossings, rarely does it get stuck when i exercise the most minor bit of common sense. And the car was totaled recently but I rebuilt it on my driveway for under 500$, got it retitled, and its back on the road, noway in a million years would I ever pay the price people are asking for trucks nowadays, in the Bay area people are selling 20+ year old toyota tacoma's for more than MSRP with 200K miles! It's beyond insane out here. Things are finally calming down, but nothing like how it was even 4-5 years ago before the pandemic,...

I just saw this video. If you have a moment, I would like to know what symptoms made you replace the box in the first place. I am looking at the same possibility. My D1 has about 1/3 revolution play turning to the left. Much tighter to the right.
