First minute of the video is so awesome...just total Amtrak. The station can be seen in the distance! It's the building with the chain link fence and port-a-potty. Once inside, the escalator is out of service.

traveling adventures with dan -- did you experience the bad smell on this trip? I have only rode the Coast Starlight (several times) and never encountered the odor on that train, but I heard that on the Zephyr, there's a mechanical issue on some cars that causes a septic smell to be vented inside the cars. 😲

I seen how reliable flicks is not very reliable at all. I was in Vegas and I took a different bus and flicks. Had a scheduled pick up of people on the same street I was on they actually left those people standing there bus, never even arrived.

The Crazy fact around Frankfurt Airport is, thanks to non-electrification, the DB has to use Steam-Locomotives for parts of the Network there, while they are renewing the tracks ^^ They had to borrow steam locomotives from museums.

This is why commuter rail lines should be connected with each other. MBTA to CT Rail would be useful. It's just like how SEPTA is connected to NJ Transit

Mate, firstly Switzerland is not “in the EU”. It’s part of the Schengen zone so that’s the reason no immigration/customs appeared at the border. Secondly, my son and I took the same services as you (Chur to St Moritz on a Regional service and then the Bernina Express from Sy Moritz to Tirana about a month ago. This trip was the highlight of our five weeks in the UK/Europe. It’s disappointing that you otherwise pleasant video was inflicted by whinging over the cost and expecting “freebies” to be included. I suggest you try travelling on the LNER service from Edinburgh to Kings Cross London in “1st class”. No “freebies” included there and the seats were the most uncomfortable I’ve ever experienced!!!! Given the outrageous price this “rail company” charged, one should have expected a much better travel experience. You’ll be pleased to know I’m not bothering to follow your other “travel logs”. Grüße aus Australien. Tschüss.

This is mildly upsetting. This is what I was expecting when I bought a ticket from LA to San Diego en route to Ensenada about 6 years ago. What I got was a commuter train with no assigned seats, that only went as far as Irvine. By the time I searched through 5 double Decker cars and finally found a seat, they were unloading us so we could take a bus the rest of the way. I was really looking forward to crossing the "trestles" trestles. Pretty much my only unpleasant Amtrak experience. I took Amtrak across country on multiple occasions in my youth, and it was always great. I was expecting the Pacific surfliner to be even better than the empire builder, which was awesome, especially the glacier national Park portion.

Thank you for your video ! I'm planning to do the same trip but wondering if I choose to leave from Montréal or Longueuil. Longueuil would be more convenient for us not having to drive downtown Montréal but if we step in in Longueuil there will be not much choice for the seats (to be with my friend) ?
