My personal head-cannon and what seems to possibly fit with what we see: They are Euruskan psychological warfare weapons. Cows can be pretty loud, the "balloons" all fly pretty low. Eurasia and Eurska have a high reliance on bio-enhanced or fully cybernetic troops that likely would ignore or not be affected by hearing this. Europan troops are almost entirely just un-altered people. They also tend to appear during low points in battles by my observation and do tend to fly towards Europan lines.

I think it's just a Euruskan Drone. Europa & Eruasia both have Mechanical Drones, but it would make sense if the Euruskans were using Bio-Mechanical Drones since they're obsessed with combining Machines & Flesh together

The grabber looks like a unit that should disengage when it's shot too much. This could lead to it trying to stalk you if you drive it off, needing you to somehow get it to be distracted or trying to recklessly rush through areas it might have trouble navigating to try and lose it.

I find it so fascinating that Euruska and Eurasia are billed as the technological factions while Europa is relying on vast stockpiles of old weapons held in reserve when reality is quite the opposite. The US and Europe are usually at the cutting edge military tech while Russia is literally emptying its stockpiles of cold war era weapons to fight in Ukraine.

Maybe the cows are a weapon. They produce methane gas that the "balloon" breathes in, and it exhales oxygen for thrust. Perhaps the cows are also full of some kind of toxic gas. Whatever AI is controlling them is corrupted, so the balloons just circle like vultures, as per their bird instincts, and they will also act like a flock. Nobody shoots them as 1. All sides need oxygen for something. 2 If you shoot 1 down, the nearby ones will swarm you 3 the balloon would create a huge methane explosion over your head, and 4 nobody wants a 2000 pound cow full of nerve gas landing on them haha

Not bothering with this game anymore, 272 player as i write this, i think that early access was a mistake, i really like this game tho but i don't want to farm even more just in case it will be shut down.

There is a sequence of a cow being airlifted to safety in Apocalypse Now. I think the cows are in reference to that. The games atmosphere draws a lot of inspiration from that movie I think.

This might be my favorite Killpo1 video yet. I never thought a video about flying cows could be so… unsettling.
