You are correct about race being a creation of conquering Europeans. The US is the country that really pushed the race thing for obvious reasons I shouldn't have to get into.

As I was growing up I was told don't pick a side because they both cant stand you...I was told you will never be accepted your different and they will hate something they don't understand..your going to have to be tuff because you are always going to be misunderstood ...my Dad and my grandmother were right.. it was rough and damaging.. I remember I will get so excited when I saw a mixed person like me..man it was harsh.. I was told multiple times that I was only here through rape when I know my mom and dad were married before I was born and slavery in that kind of way didn't exist anymore in the brutal way we used to be treated. treating me like I did it .. I always hated a part of me because of what the white man did.. But as I got older I started to embrace who i was snd i knew me and my family around me where strong loving people ...being alone was wonderful I'm surprised I didn't grow up and became a hateful person.. luckily I had a loving biracial family.. we stayed among each other and that was it.. but we got called bougie and stuck up for it.. but I love the skin I'm in ain't no other race cant make me feel im less then..

😊 I visited Bangkok a few months ago. I'm mixed as well lol kinda similar 2 u actually. Born in Canada + have 1 Caribbean parent. Kind of an army brat + have lived all over the place. Luv, luv, loved Thailand! Went 2 Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Phuket + Pattaya. Found Thailand way more accepting than Japan + I enjoyed learning about their spirituality, the buddhism etc. Also the mix of food I had in the malls...I found that really amazing how u can get halal, japanese, korean, thai, indian, american + european pastries all in one mall. Such a high standard of food there + great price ranges. The accessibility + innovation w' transport was also another plus. If I had the opportunity 2 live in Thailand I would however the visa run situation is a bit of discourager. I keep in touch w' my caribbean + american friends that still are over there now + I live vicariously through their culinary experiences lolll 🍽

Hey Victoria I am I guess an intermediate learner who has lived in Thailand and has a Thai wife. My tone control is quite good but I am lacking vocabulary. Have you heard of the LTP: Learn-Thai-Podcast? I signed up with them many years ago for a year (Now there is lifetime access) and I thought it was a great way to learn. Unfortunately career and children got in the way but now I have more time I am looking to subscribe once again to improve my vocabulary and conversational Thai.

I don't know Thai, but I do watch Thai bl dramas and your Thai sounds really good.

The thing is mixed race people are not black but a lot claim that they have full ownership of black culture just as much as a black person, which imo is not right.

It's a difficult subject because most people in the world are mixed if you go back far enough in time. Calling some people mixed implies that other people are pure. I don't think anyone in the world is 100% pure anything.

They go at break neck speed Teachers wear masks that affects you seeing their lips and affects pronunciation They also do not help students they can clearly see are battling .I would not recommend that school at all They only speak a thai during course so you are totally lost with no help i left half way
