Hey, What's Next?
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 2 ก.ย. 2021
This channel is a passion project revolving around my exploration of audio, video, computers, and solar. Ever since I was young, I would look through catalogs from Radio Shack or another similar retailer and meticulously go through each page imagining what it would be like to have a chance to learn about how these items worked and function.
I hope we can share this adventure together and see where it takes use, and who knows, maybe have some surprises along the way. Let's see what's next together.

Another trip to ALDI and another ALDI Finds to review. This episode we review the Bauhn LED Bluetooth Speaker, model #BX214. What I found interesting with this speaker compared to a prior review was a feature called "True Wireless Stereo"; however, for this to work, you need to two of them. And that's what I did, picked up a pair to test to see if this is worth it. Let's say that this episode d...

The Hunt for Desktop Speakers

I've struggled to get good sound for the last several computer speakers I've used. I avoided spending money for a while and just used the speakers I already had with no luck. I bought one of these and I was playing some old Randy Travis and it sounded like I was 12 years old in my father’s work shop again. Super cool worth the 8$.
That’s fantastic, thanks for sharing!
where do we find a 130 watt external power supply???
Thanks for watching. I found my 150 watt power supply on eBay. Use “hp elitedesk 705 g4 power supply 135 watt” in the search.
I have one, but I don't know how to charge it. Could you explain please? Thanks!
@TheRijorelo Hello, and thanks for watching. Your speaker should have come with a USB-A to Micro-USB cable. There is no power supply included in the box. If you have a computer, USB Hub, or another power supply with a USB-A connection, you should be able to charge the speaker. To charge the speaker: 1) Take the USB-A end (the larger connection) and plug it into a power supply, hub, or computer. 2) Take the Micro-USB end, and on top of the speaker with the speaker facing you, plug it into USB connection. This is the thrid connection from the left. You should see a red light behind the buttons. NOTE: The Micro-USB connection can only plug in one way. Hope this helps. If not, I can make a TH-cam short for you showing this process.
Hello, how are You? I just found your video and really interesting. I will try on mine. I would like to ask you if you think it can support 64gb ram ? (2x32gb).
Thanks for watching. I believe it officially it supports up to 32 GB (2x 16GB). At least that is what’s stated in the product guide. As I don’t have two 32 GB sticks lying around, I couldn’t test it out.
@heywhatisnext thanks for the answer ! I will try and then come back to tell in a few weeks. 💪
I wish these kinds of things had an easily replaceable battery. I don't like throwing things away just because the battery won't take a charge.
Thanks for watching. That is a downside to this.
I found something similar at a thrift store, model hm11 but it was harry potter themed "wizard radio". Couldn't find any exact details on it and nothing with a image search. Weird cute little Bluetooth speakers.
That sounds interesting. Thanks for sharing!
Excellent video. Enjoy your content very much. Looking forward to 2025. Happy holidays!!
Thank you so much for your kind words. Happy Holidays to you as well!
I'd be a candidate for this but I'm replacing my 2010 MacPro6,1 with a new Mac Mini M4 Pro. I might still do this upgrade before passing it on to a relative. It's been a very reliable computer.
Thanks for watching. It’s great to read that you’ve gotten a lot of use from that Mac Pro, but I totally get the interest in the M4 processors.
Nice! Have we finally reached a point where the cost of using usb-c is so low that micro usb is phased out? I hope you have a happy holiday celebration!
I agree with your assessment on USB-C. Thanks for the well wishes and your comments on my videos. It encourages me to continue this endeavor. Have a great holiday season as well! I have some fun stuff planned for 2025 so stay tuned.
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽I actually loved the video on this.I purchased about two weeks ago and didn’t know how to operate it. Searched and you showed up. I’m glad. I’ve subscribed. You make it funny interesting and k love the step by step review. Also, you laugh at yourself which is a humble trait. So thank you. Lastly, it says on this to change the battery monthly, when you took it apart you didn’t show up the battery or I missed that part (I watched to the end for the final review) anyway, can just charging it work? Do you know? I wondered if it safe just to keep it charged. Share your thoughts, if you see this and thanks again. You have some great videos I’ve watched several now. 👍🏾👍🏾
Thanks for watching, the kind words, and yes, I have no problem laughing at myself. Does it say change the battery monthly or charge the battery monthly. I guess if it sits around and you aren’t using it, you might want to charge it monthly. There is no changing the battery. I have some fun stuff planned for 2025 so stay tuned. 😁
I have been using old diigtal cameras with low megapixel counts combined with AI upscaling to improve them. The higher the number of pixels etc you have, the better it works and if you then size them back down to somewhere between the upscaled size and the original, the results can be pretty sharp. A 3-4mp camera denoised and upscaled then scaled back down can look good on a modern 4k monitor...
Thanks for sharing your method, and thanks for watching.
Cheaper sounded like it had more wow and flutter when still.
Hi, and thanks for watching. I know Fiio and We Are Rewind are trying to make good units with the components that exist today. While I really like the Fiio product, I still long for a good quality sounding portable.
Is there no play/pause button on actual unit,do I have to use remote?
Hi, and thank you for watching. While not showing the usual icons, the OK button located in the middle of the directional buttons is the Play / Pause button. I just tested this to confirm.
@@heywhatisnext That’s great thank you…I’m ordering one today.👍
@@christianhill2088 I hope you enjoy it. Thanks for watching!
Holy crap, I never thought I'd see one of these again. This was the first digital camera I've ever used, I had no recollection of what company made it. My Dad had borrowed it from his work place to take some photos at his Moms birthday. I was fascinated by the thing and got to use it a bunch, such a good memory, thank you fro the video. Cheers
Thanks for watching and for sharing your memory.
Okay first of all, the device is virtually useless. All it can do is send alerts to your smartphone about some arcing problem. It doesn't do anything to fix the problem. If you live in a house built since 1999, by code you have to have afci Outlets which prevent fires from arcing problems . This device sends a lot of false positives and guess who they get sent to? The company that makes this device, whisker labs, was spun off from another company called Earth Networks. Once it became a separate company guess who led the round of funding for the company back in 2020? It was none other than State Farm Ventures, the investment arm of State Farm Insurance this is about money not keeping people safe. Once the three free years are up, the money that they charge for The Ting device is going to go right back into State Farm Ventures pocket. And if they have a financial stake in the company I'm betting they get access to the data. Not about safety, it's about money. The last I looked this was installed in 2 million homes. They claim with no evidence that I can see that it prevented 8,000 fires in the last four or five years or whatever. Yeah where's the data?
Interesting. I was not aware of that information.
No...
Thanks for watching.
Hi, everyone! As it was pointed out, I inadvertently state this camera was from 1998 when I should have stated 1997. In short, my son who created the thumbnail was correct 🙂
1:38 The mavica fd7 came out in 97, not 98.
Yep, my youngest son corrected me after I posted it. I should have him review these before I post them :-)
Does it works with 220 V? For Europe
Thanks for watching. Looking at the AC to DC adapter and it shows the input as 100 to 240 volts - 50/60 Hz - .4 Amp max. Hope that helps.
Interesting I am an Adobe user, and if i want to upscale something, i use the upscaler in photoshop. When it comes to the early consumer digital cameras, you had a lot of innovation, including the floppy based sony ones. SD cards arrived in 1999 and cost wise the floppy was an established format. Also for a 640x480 resolution you did stored a certain amount of photos before you had to change the floppy, and if you were running out the nearest store that sold floppy diskettes would help you out! Thanks for the video!
I completely forgot about the upscaling feature in PS. Thanks for the comment.
The charging thing did not work on mine. And it's okay that I had to have my own chargers ...just did not charge. Quality is exceptional, especially at $9.99
Thanks for watching and for sharing your experience!
Nice Review ! Sata cable/adapter Seems to be a million dollar question , you have any info on the cable/adapter to use for SATA connector to install a SSD drive ?
Thanks for the compliment. I am planning a follow up video to cover that and adding DDR-5 RAM. I did purchase a six-inch SATA cable to test.
Thank you so much. I want to be a filmmaker. Found this camara from grandpa, and Im just stoked about the aesthetic and how much can they add to storytelling. Its amazing. Thank you. FR
I am so glad you enjoyed this video. Thanks for watching and good luck with your filmmaking!

Interesting question. I guess I’m just a bit odd when it comes to wearing watches 🤪

Looks like I would need WiFi to hook my phone to this speaker
@passadonut I just posted a video that I hope will help you in the connection of your speaker. I plan to do a better job at explaining these steps in future episodes. th-cam.com/video/Pw6_2gUFAfg/w-d-xo.html
Can you show how & wear exactly am I looking on my iPhone to par them & how am I finding the music ? Can I use the music on my iPhone or listen to teachings from my iPhone to the speaker ? I do not have WiFi
Hello and thanks for watching. You need to pair the phone to the speaker using Bluetooth or use a 3.5mm (headphone) cable, which isn’t include with this speaker. You would need to refer to your phone’s user manual to see how to connect wirelessly. That being said, I’ll create a step-by-step video on these two methods. Stay tuned. Give me a day or so to put something together.
@@heywhatisnext Is that video out yet, because I don't understand how to pair the phone with the speaker?
@@philvalois8824 Yes, you can access the video at th-cam.com/video/Pw6_2gUFAfg/w-d-xo.html. I go through on how to pair (connect) a phone to the speaker as well as disconnect (unpair) the phone from the speaker. Let me know if you have any other questions.
Deep Digital Bass. Unlike the rest of the frequency range which is analog? 😂
Thanks for the laugh.
I purchased one of these a couple days ago, I wasn't impressed with build quality of it at all. The plasticky outer-casing was extremely sharp on certain edges. Not uncommon on mass produced products like this. The Voice when turned on is the thing i hate about it.. FM reception is shotty even being outdoors i had it upside down to get the local stations. Appreciate the video and tear down at the end! I was honestly quite curious myself and was planning to open it up! Lol
Thanks for watching and for sharing your experience.
I have a question, I have an iMac mid-2007 that everywhere is stating that this can't upgrade anymore and I was wondering does this let me update to newest update or no?
Based on the following link (dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Legacy-Patcher/MODELS.html#imac) and the last several OS update/releases, you might be pushing your luck on compatibility. You could always back up the drive (time machine) and give it a try with an older Mac OS (v10.15 or 11). As this hardware is reaching almost 18 years old, your best luck might be Linux, but I'm not an expert on that.
Interesting device! Thanks for the review
Thank you. I really enjoy putting these together.
great video nice review
Thank you.
A nice review very fair, looks like a good value budget unit.
Thanks for watching and the compliment.
What did you do with SSD? What if you don’t have a vented top?
Thanks for watching. The SSD is just stored in a bag currently. Since it housed the original OS, I’m keeping it in case the NVME drive goes bad. As far as systems that don’t have a vented top, I’m not sure. The heat generated from the graphics card and processor can get very high. I’m not sure a non-vented box would be good long term.
I just got a black one today. The store in my area did not get the shipment when the flyer said and came later. If people Google this unit, they will find that the previous version had a speaker on each side and came with a 3-year warranty. I'm good with this unit and happy to have been able to get it.
Thanks for watching! I am glad you were able to find one.

Do you have similar tutorial for HP Elitedesk 705 G5, AMD RYZE 5 PRO 3400?
Thanks for watching. Unfortunately, I do not have a tutorial on that PC.
Ha, I just looked at the ebay link and it's $150 now. I've been wanting one of these Ryzen 5 2400g mini pcs for a while and I knew about the addon gpu but it seems like its just not worth the added cost or power usage. Lets be honest no one is going to use these mini pcs for intensive gaming so the vega 11 is likely enough for casual games. The 560 gets you maybe 30% real world performance boost in games which just isn't enough to play newer more demanding titles compared to vega 11.
Thanks for watching and the comment. I completely agree with your assessment. It is a great mini pc.
Just had one shipped for $80 (2400ge model) as an emulation machine. I have an Atomic Pi and was just not impressed with its N64 performance and inability to run 2D Dreamcast reliably. Pi4 doesn't do all N64 and costs can easily eclipse $100, same with Pi5, so decided to check out mini desktops and found that these little PCs are dirt cheap now. I was curious about upgrading to the 2400g 65w cpu and saw that the product specs contained SKUs for a discreet GPU which was crazy to me lol. I'm sure it would help with emulation, but I'm really not planning on running a ton of advanced emulators with supersampling on this thing
@@cryangallegos You’ll have to let us know how it goes.
I have a Lenovo Ideacentre with Ryzen 5 2400G, 16GB RAM for which I paid £80. Recently added a GTX 1650 OC for £70 and now I can play Forza Horizon 4 on high settings at 60 FPS 1080p.
