Y’all i need help. I wanna play L4D2 and i managed to install it, and i can play it, but when i’m past the intro cutscene the audio just gets insanely choppy and distorted. Need some help if anyone knows what i could do to try n fix

It's best said in the Apple Gaming Wiki: "The games engine has issues on M1 so it might crash on startup or be a black screen, If it does keep opening it until you get to menu as once it's in game I haven't experienced any crashes. Also might need to close "nwjs helper" in Activity Monitor if steam reports it as running. Also, deleting omori folder at "~/Library/Application Support/OMORI" can help launch game if it's crashing. And after some time it will memory leak and will become laggy (Relaunch fixes that of course). Otherwise it runs nice.". I've been rebooting this game so many times just to get a lackluster experience since I have to reboot after memory leak. I really hope they fix this, but the problem is due to nwjs mainly since it's not native. Also not sure if anyone needs this or if it applies, but if you get slowed by memory leak while heading to a basket save, hold two movement keys to get faster speed. Don't know why it works ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I wanted to add another datapoint: I'm running a 2023 16" MacBook Pro w/ the M2 Max chip (12xCPU, 38xGPU) and 32GB of ram. I'm running Subnautica full screen at 2650x1600 using the "High" graphics preset. It runs completely smooth, looks fantastic, and the GPU averages around 80-90% load with the fps limit set to 60. The CPU load during gameplay is negligible and loading times seem totally reasonable but I have no basis for comparison to other platforms. Furthermore, Activity Monitor indicates that Subnautica is compiled for Intel architecture, so that means it running via Rosetta 2.
