- Hello Mac gamers! Today I will teach you how to extract game files from a LEGALLY OBTAINED gog offline installer to use on programs like OpenMW, OpenJK or Fallout CE. Enjoy the video, like and subscribe if you found this useful and I'll catch you in the next one.
To be clear, this is not software piracy as in order to get the offline installer, you need to purchase the game from GOG, don't strike me YT.

When I download the GOG offline files one is EXE and the other is BIN. The Unarachiver unable to extract either one.

@@0endofsilence @symphonix9643 Seems like what you need to do is just do the Whiskey process with the EXE file. You don't need Unarchiver or the BIN file

@@MacGamingRevolution Same thing is happening to me. Tried to download the offline file off of GOG's website, and got two files. One of them exe. and the other .bin. The .bin file is the one with the game files, the .exe is just a manual for the game. The .bin file is unable to be expanded by stuffit or terminal, and the file cannot be accessed through Whisky.
Disregard, I was mistaken. Using the .exe file to install via Whisky works fine. This method works just like it did in this video.
did all exactly the video, and all works, but still got this message: "could not find the master datafile"

hey man when I try to open with whiskey it says something went wrong please try to download installer again or contact got for support. is this not working anymore?
so every time I try to instal it its not giving me a rar file its giving me an exe file but every time I try to extract it it says can not extract using the unarchiver
You don't have to extract .exe files as they're already uncompressed and you can continue on w/ the tutorial.
When I double clic, nothing happens, I don’t get the installation screen from gog..,

If I click on the pinned exe in Whiskey. Nothing happens... the install window doesnt open or appear. Why could that be?

When I try to run my game it says it requires .Net framework is this a common problem

I haven't encountered this issue before. You could try manually installing the .net frameworks into the bottle which you can find here: dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download/dotnet-framework

What aspect ratio did you end up using?
The exe we download is not the extracted one the final game starter file, but the compressed version instead of being a rar
if it's an .exe file then you don't have to uncompress.
god man you made this way too complicated. why the hell do I have to watch multiple tutorials to do one thing. very confusing
GOG only gives me the .exe, not the .rar. How do I get the .rar?
Hello, If you have the .exe then you're good, .rar files are essentially a windows version of a zip file and are used to contain .exe files! let me know if you have any more questions.

There is, this tutorial id for native game ports that require game files.
My whiskey doesnt even show pin program.

You could try porting kit for a free one and crossover for paid.
Porting kit is basically crossover but an older version so it performs a bit worse.
@@MacGamingRevolution i have a 2019 macbook pro, whiskey didnt want to open so i used porting kit. it downloaded the game but when i try to start it up it shows me an error screen.

Real quick, just because it annoyed me ... instead of saying "gee oh gee", just say Good Old Games or gog (rhymes with dog). Saying gee oh gee takes as much effort as just saying the sites full name.
