Why are people paying 1,800.00 a month payment ? Plus insurance, depreciation, you have gas, upkeep, you have rent, food, clothes and medical to pay for.
While there’s no question that truck prices are getting ridiculous, the fact remains that as long as customers keep demanding the latest and greatest in technology and comfort, manufacturers are going to keep providing and at a premium price. They charge this much because they know that they will always have a customer base that is willing to buy them. If any of the big 3 truck companies come out with a quarter of a million dollar half ton truck, I can say with absolute 100% certainty, that there will be people willing to pay for it. TFL has already proven that most truck buyers look for the top end trim packages rather than something basic. Until that trend stops or changes course, finding affordable trucks for the average person is going to become less and less common.
Insurance prices are going up too. I don't think people consider that. It's not just the truck payment. Also the high interest rates. Who in their right mind wants to pay over a thousand dollars a month for 7 years!! It's insane!

I keep hearing the truck market is crashing but most dealerships have inventory’s with trucks well north of 50K and people are still paying. I need a basic work truck but I refuse to pay $35,000 for something that sold a few years back for 25K.
When it's a couple years old the fancy electronics start going goofy and quit working. Add then a nice new thousand bucks to try and fix it. And may have to wait a few weeks for them to find the part somewhere. Then try to sell it when prospective buyers know the vehicle is just waiting to give you an unpleasant surprise when even more fancy computer stuff malfunctions.
Yes, the people who are addicted to getting the 'style points' in the super market parking lot are the ones who keep screwing themselves. These fancy truck and SUVs have been over priced for many years but people keep needing the validation of having a new and huge fancy vehicle. A construction business owner does not need the luxury cab, fancy appointments and 'look at me' expensive rims and tires that for the most part never get a spec of dirt on them from doing real work.
Better yet "Zambelli's" next door, we pull up website and view their pictures of pizza, prime rib, etc. looks magnificently delicious. We are from South Louisiana where the entire world comes for the best Cajun foods and "Zambelli's looks like they could be our long lost relatives!
idk... I'm good for about 15 years. 2019 Warlock. crew cab 5.7L... Black 32k miles....No extras inside. 36k used 2 years ago. Got screwed on the warranty though... should have not bought that.. came out to 40k after all the dealer and tax BS. I have 15k left. on it. Had no problems with it. 45k miles. It's gonna need a set of rubber soon, though.
Some people are dumb enough to pay whatever it takes to have a cool ride. Then two years later it's getting repo'd and they blame everyone but themselves.
Please grow up! Neither side gives a rats ass about you or anyone else. Your favorite politician is taking money from these corporations and doing for them, not the people.
@1:45 Yes, but only if you stick to the extended American oil change intervals and extended American tire change intervals. That means, either your engine has blown up or you hit a flag pole really hard because you were too cheap to buy proper tires. 😘😁 Seriously, bro, you mostly either bought the wrong vehicle, ran it into the ground or it was totaled due to some circumstance in or out of your control. 🤷♂
I just saw a beat up 2022 power wagon with 57k and they still wanted 47k for the truck. No thanks! That's what I should be paying for a low mileage well kept truck. Perhaps I am dreaming.
Don't forget to mention that new rates are better then pre owned rates. You'll pay the same for a 2 year old truck as you would a new one in the life time of the loan with higher rates on pre owned.
Manufacturers need to start selling direct to the public. Get rid of the middleman. I dont need a salesman and GM and Managers all getting their fingers in my purchase. Id rather be able to afford a new truck.
Small pp and big ego syndrome is a common trait these days. It's why those candidates want big oversized masculine trucks to compensate for their shortcomings.
If the quality was there and the vehicle could 500k miles without issue I might consider these prices. But a pre COVID used vehicle is better quality and will last longer.
97 chevy 2500. Paid 1200.00 and rebuilt the engine and manual transmission. Still a better truck then what they are selling now. Have fun with your payments!
YOU , JUST, DON'T, GET IT, DOYA! You all choose to let the gov print massive amounts of money in the name of "safety" The prices didnt go up at all, the purchasing power of your Canadian dollar went down
Great video. But the more TH-camrs talk about how expensive they are, the more people want to get them. It's like free advertising for the trucks. Just like you always say, life is short, why drive boring cars?
In some cases it’s an overall health check and general days supply which is easier to monitor is an indicator of sales indirectly. The rate of sales slows and backlog builds so seeing 2022 and even 23s should not exist
it buys the manufacturers time...cars/trucks on dealers lots are considered sold units by the manufacturer and are included as such in their quarterly sales reports etc...sales numbers are then considered up and the shareholders are happy and stock price remains stable.... but eventually the 'channel stuffing' has to stop.
It all started back in the yr 2000 with the Lincoln Black Forrest 4 door pick-up truck. It was a pi k up truck with all the top tier features of a Lincoln Town Car Wh3n it came out, the concept was laughable at 1st. SUVs used to be the same long ago basic and robust... in the 80s, they made them appeal to well to do BOOMERS of the day. Prices are too high because UAW is forcing BIG Auto to pay its assembly employees 40 bucks an hr and other bull shit they didn't earn
How can you pay $110k for a pick up truck. There are so many truly luxury cars in the same price range or even less Porsche, Range Rover, Cadillac, BMW etc all are less than F150 Raptor😅
Its odd why so many drive trucks who don't need them but I suppose with harder winters, 4x4 makes sense and the towing capability works for many who tow a trailer 3 times a year to the campsite. A little over the top indeed for day to day.
I don’t need a 3,245 sq ft 5 bedroom house for 2 people, but I have one. I drive a midsize 4x4 truck. I’ve never not owned a truck since I started driving 40 years ago. My dad has always owned a truck. They are the most useful vehicle on the road in my opinion.
Being from Alberta for the past 45 years i have always had a truck. My F150 platinum has luxury for the "Stepping Out" days and a box for when it has to carry a load or pull a trailer and 4x4 to use when needed. I also like all the extra real estate over the hood for when i roll over top of those little corolas. LOL
dealers need to stop using their allocations , to order loaded, top of the line, top top luxury trim .example ram TRX final edition every opt moon roof etc $125k a base TRX no options with discount under $100k does the same thing
look at the circulating money supply in 2013 compared to now... ill give you a hint, 4 times amount of money floating around, so 27k x 4 would put your truck at 108k in todays terms
i think some of those RV type vehicles you can get a 20 year loan on...i can't remember the channel but there is a guy/gal on TH-cam that bought a large off-road van and did this.
Don't forget they are cutting quality to save them money then telling us they are saving us money, I seen power wires in new cars thinner then speaker wire in older cars, I just seen a video of a 2017 truck and he pulled back the cover on the door wire's and they were all cracked and way to thin for the job they are doing, Also older cars had padded dash and door's but today they just use plastic for everything like you used to get on bottom line starter cars. If they put these car's and truck on the market in the 70s and 80s people would laugh because you don't spend money on plastic and tin cars unless it's a toy, Today if you want a car build like they built them in the 70s its called a luxury cars. We went from a '' luxury'' car most working people had as a daily driver to what we used to call a shitbox you bought as yoru first new car because it was all plastic inside but it was cheap and for collage kids it was a new car so it was great, Now that shitbox is out of reach for most people, I bought 3 new cars since 2011 and they were all junk so ill never buy another new car,

A construction business owner does not need the luxury cab, fancy appointments and 'look at me' expensive rims and tires that for the most part never get a spec of dirt on them from doing real work.
Only people that are buying make good money. Just because you make good money doesn’t mean you’re not getting a bad deal.
Better yet "Zambelli's" next door, we pull up website and view their pictures of pizza, prime rib, etc. looks magnificently delicious. We are from South Louisiana where the entire world comes for the best Cajun foods and "Zambelli's looks like they could be our long lost relatives!
I moved over to the wholesale side.
Keep it running
They didn't have an answer for the ridiculous apr so I walked.
You have to if it’s simply not reasonable
Some people are dumb enough to pay whatever it takes to have a cool ride. Then two years later it's getting repo'd and they blame everyone but themselves.
We’ve never witnessed this before. This is a first where autos went sky high. Inflation is real. Thanks democrats.
You are welcome, MAGA boy.
I think this is a corporate greed problem…everyone is getting screwed. Left and right! Litterly lol stop the name calling 😂😂😂 thats what they want
@@jerrylundegaard2592 When Trump was president I remember gas was a $1.80 gallon and inflation was idle.
@@BP-1972 So you love Fascism, abusing women, fraud, Rocket Man, Putin.
Please grow up! Neither side gives a rats ass about you or anyone else. Your favorite politician is taking money from these corporations and doing for them, not the people.
Also, $76k for an F150??? They outa they damn minds!
The prices these days are just crazy. I bought my 2001 Tundra in 2004 for 21k. I will just hold on to her forever lol.
I would buy a house for that money before a pick up truck. In 2020 I was offered a ram big horn just the price of the truck of $29,000
Exactly
2024 colorado lt going for 38k or 40k is insane!..i hope lots fill up and business goes down!
Just how many issues are pre loaded into new vehicles?
All of them.
Don't forget to mention that new rates are better then pre owned rates. You'll pay the same for a 2 year old truck as you would a new one in the life time of the loan with higher rates on pre owned.
A dealer contacted me today and asked if I would consider new, I said a maverick xl AWD at 30k at 0%...I doubt they would email me back.
That’s a great offer but they will
Likely resist
Manufacturers need to start selling direct to the public. Get rid of the middleman. I dont need a salesman and GM and Managers all getting their fingers in my purchase. Id rather be able to afford a new truck.
Canadian $
With high interest rates… I’m just going to stick to cheaper cars lol
Small pp and big ego syndrome is a common trait these days. It's why those candidates want big oversized masculine trucks to compensate for their shortcomings.
People who don't actually use a truck for truck things drive the price up.
😢this is not looking good at all 😢thanks for the information ❤❤
Prices go up. Quality goes down.
If the quality was there and the vehicle could 500k miles without issue I might consider these prices. But a pre COVID used vehicle is better quality and will last longer.
So how much?
Ford Lightning in Australia AU$250,000 with RHD conversion.... crazy
97 chevy 2500. Paid 1200.00 and rebuilt the engine and manual transmission. Still a better truck then what they are selling now. Have fun with your payments!
2005 GMC Sierra for 5000 rebuilt motor trans😂😂😂 like you said
That Chevy Truck cost nearly the same as the EV model.
YOU , JUST, DON'T, GET IT, DOYA! You all choose to let the gov print massive amounts of money in the name of "safety" The prices didnt go up at all, the purchasing power of your Canadian dollar went down
Jag kör en 1999 Suzuki grand vitara 2,5 v6 4x4. Underbar bil. Skuld fri.
Jag har även en Subaru forester 2003 mycket trevligt bil det också. Skuldfri.
People are getting over charged because they are foolish enough to buy them
Great video. But the more TH-camrs talk about how expensive they are, the more people want to get them. It's like free advertising for the trucks. Just like you always say, life is short, why drive boring cars?
Where are you located?
north of Montana
Let them go backrupt! This is ridiculous
Anyone who buys these vehicles deserves to be screwed .lol i buy for nothing when they are repo.
Yes buyers have caused their own demise
You only get screwed if you buy those overpriced trucks. Keep your old good running, paid for vehicle.
How many trucks in a lot has no bearing on sales
It was a pi k up truck with all the top tier features of a Lincoln Town Car
Wh3n it came out, the concept was laughable at 1st.
SUVs used to be the same long ago basic and robust... in the 80s, they made them appeal to well to do BOOMERS of the day.
Prices are too high because UAW is forcing BIG Auto to pay its assembly employees 40 bucks an hr and other bull shit they didn't earn
120K dually proudly made in mexico
Its because there are some people that pay it even if its garbage just to say they have the latest newest thing. Ego
There is always a lot of ego attached to
How can you pay $110k for a pick up truck. There are so many truly luxury cars in the same price range or even less Porsche, Range Rover, Cadillac, BMW etc all are less than F150 Raptor😅
Mark I have to ask, you being from Alberta. Why is it that people who don't need a truck drive one? Personally this kind of drives me nuts.
@@tinymission7821 yea if it's useful no problem. But it's people who don't have a use for them I don't understand.
LOL
Why do you care
No one’s got a gun pointed to their head to buy one of these things. The screwed and the screwer are the same person.
If a person agrees to pay those prices, can they really be screwed?
Fair statement. I think people are just de sensitized already and these high prices have become normalized and people do not even question it anymore
dealers need to stop using their allocations , to order loaded, top of the line, top top luxury trim .example ram TRX final edition every opt moon roof etc $125k a base TRX no options with discount under $100k does the same thing
U.S. prices
My 2013 F150 stx 5.0 was 27k new
look at the circulating money supply in 2013 compared to now... ill give you a hint, 4 times amount of money floating around, so 27k x 4 would put your truck at 108k in todays terms
I wouldn’t give them $10 for any kind of dodge… They been junk for yrs.
The prices didnt change, the dollar hyper inflated.. these are the lowest prices youll ever see again..
trudopia in chinada
last year i mused that one will have to take out a mortgage to buy a new vehicle. we there yet?
Haha, exactly
i think some of those RV type vehicles you can get a 20 year loan on...i can't remember the channel but there is a guy/gal on TH-cam that bought a large off-road van and did this.
Just don’t buy them and they will eventually come down f the dealerships
Indeed
And the value drop 50% off the lot.
damn
Thanka
We went from a '' luxury'' car most working people had as a daily driver to what we used to call a shitbox you bought as yoru first new car because it was all plastic inside but it was cheap and for collage kids it was a new car so it was great, Now that shitbox is out of reach for most people, I bought 3 new cars since 2011 and they were all junk so ill never buy another new car,
So prices are high enough for them to keep slashing and not go out of business.oh ok
If Buyers are stupid enough to buy they deserve to overpay
