Arthur Morgan is the single most powerful protagonist I’ve ever played in a game. Without his death his story would not have been nearly as moving. All that time, work, and sacrifice by both him and John culminated in little Jack exacting revenge and closing the book on Wild West outlaws.

RDR2 is Arthur's story. After that fantastic story with his Dutch's gang, and Arthur's personal psychologic journey culminating with his epic sacrifice and death (in high honour ending) - anything after Arthur's death doesn't feel good or welcomed. The game should've ended with Arthur's death, having Micah die then - one way or the other. Playing anyone else after Arthur's death in the same game leaves a sour taste, like a TV show that overstays its welcome with more seasons than necessary.

Here's my take. Micah was in cahoots with Joe and maybe Cleet before Micah joined the gang. He had Dutch's 1k wanted poster. And decided, I'm going to join that gang and destroy it. I'll make friends with the 'few good guns' get rid of the deadwood and the righthand men. If I pass information to Joe, to pass to the Pinkertons anonymously, so they either catch or kill Dutch and the Big cheeses. Then I can step in as the boss man of the perfect little gang, plus I'll have their reward monies and the Blackwater money to keep us solvent. But, how do I avoid getting killed before that? Joe can tell the Law and Pinkertons not to shoot the guy in the white hat as he is my guy on the inside. Micah's plan fails when the gang escaped Blackwater. Now Micah needs to schmooze Dutch even nice to trust him and lose trust in the big cheeses. That works to a certain extent until the end of chapter 6 and we know the rest. Micah knows Joe before joining the gang? Yes, in Online play, you can meet Joe, and one of the first things he asks you is "Do you know Micah?" The first time you meet Sean online, he asks, "Have you seen my friends? Big group?" Showing that the Blackwater heist has just recently happened. And the gang is en route to Colter. I also reckon Joe ran with the O'Driscolls during Arthur's kidnapping by Colm scenes. We just don't see him.

I played through with high honor and I didn’t realize just how different the endings could be. Seeing Arthur get shot was brand new to me and had me SHOOK! I was not expecting that at all! I’m like, wait… where’s the… how’s…. what about the sunset???

I always felt pity for micah until his parley trap got arthur almost killed. This got me wondering about that cowpoke’s recent behaviors as well. From then on, micah= auto antogonize. 😒And dutch is just a fool who does not know anything else then “one last score and we’re done “

Micah knows Joe before Micah joins Dutch's Boys. Online is supposed to be set before Blackwater. But when you first meet Joe online he says to your character "Do you know Micah?"

How did you not see the end coming if you played the first game?

3:15-3:19 (The future world harnessed it through machines and weapons-the first game also did this but all people selectively remember is the "Avatar Jak" aspect-which we explicitly see Jak use throughout the entire Jak 2 game. Naughty Dog were clever with that, among many other things. It's not acknowledged, celebrated, or appreciated enough that, contrary to weirdly popular belief, how Jak II kept prominent links and connections to THE FIRST GAME. Jak II also utterly lacks a shameful tone whenever referencing or moving forward from ideas in the previous game, and people just childishly overlook that as if it's not a big deal. Cough, anyways.) 9:42--9:43 But they actually aren't. They're bomb experts, the demolition squad which is a difference. 9:43-9:47 A lot of aspects in this game, like the escort missions, are either widely grossly exaggerated or convincing lies. It's not that they don't do anything, it's that they have pistols AND do something when the enemies get close. It's just mostly up to the player to take care of enemies at mid to long range, which within this entire contextual situation is how we want it and should be. 9:47-10:03. This was moreso the case back in the day. Over time people have began to learn the weaknesses and alternative effective (legit) methods to conquering this level. It's mostly the casuals, both on the fandom side and general public side, who still continue to have outdated troubles with this stage today. In reality this is actually one of the easiest missions in the game, with or without its plethora of varied approaches to completion. This level is one of those quintessential examples of "looks can be deceiving", "answer is hidden in plain sight", and whatever other variations. One of those looks brutal on the surface but is actually easy when taking the actual mature time to learn and then come to the realization that you were being overdramatic/unexperimental. Considering how such a distinct mission type like this has various simple methods of BREEZY completion methods had to be an intentional (genius) design choice. It presents itself as brutal through being an "Ambush" mission type, having no checkpoints, no mission exiting, water being a hazard but with the hidden depth that Dark Bombing it negates it, extreme onslaught of enemies, etc, but ends up being a spectacle deception in the end. They throw all these crazy concepts at you, but at the sametime give you "hidden" methods of easy completion. And the mission ultimately being UNDER 2mins when you don't play the worse way possible (as most people were fooled into) is a testament to these facts. Cool video overall though.

I did a full 180 on the end, i had super Low honor, i grinded a long time befor the final Mission, i wanted to arthur to at least See the Sun one last time, after making sure John got away from micah and dutch

No matter what it sounds like, Micah is the person I would get along. I don't think otherwise, even if times are different: take what you want and fuck everything else. The United States, then and now, was a place where people want be "free" - free of laws, before they changed with the times. When modernity came, these gangs were hunted and k*lled - for money and other profits either. Micah is fully aware of these things and it's all or nothing. You see how far you can go, but you just have to accept the potential loss and never get too caught up in your emotions - over time it stops you from surviving and then they get you. Turning off your conscience is not as difficult as many people think - yes, today it is completely different with the left-wing population and their moralizers. If you know you're going to be captured or practically dead, you have to accept it because you tried, at least when you have no other choice. All you can say is: “Run and leave me here, keep running and don’t look back” - that’s the concept of an outlaw. When you have nothing left to lose in life, you are willing to do anything, no matter how brutal that will be. Human stays Human. That's what I call radical honesty. Of course he could have left Micah to rot in prison, of course, and Micah of course thought "lol they really came, okay, now out from here, blowing this o'driscoll away, pick up the guns in that house, and run away". But honestly? A stupid move just happens to everyone 😂 It's obviously bitter if you just get k*lled off by chance - but well, that was just a matter of luck. I mean, hey, some people were just to lucky, but had just the half of that mind. 🤣

After the death of hosea dutch rly shifted, hosea was the only one who kept dutch in check to an extend, arthur was like a son but hosea was there from the start, He was the only one who could disagree with dutch without feeling his wrath. But then comes micah Hes a yes Men,he knows how to manipulate dutch, dutch just needs the right Words, and micah figured them out

The epilog is boring. 1/4 of it is listening to Abigail whine and dis John. Building that ranch. Doing those chores. The only real exciting part of taking out Micah. But then he let's Dutch walk.

I understand why John went to get revenge but Arthur *literally* told him to *NOT* look back. You can hear Arthur's internal screaming from the Great Beyond telling him to stop.

I remember my first play through like last year. I didn’t do all bad things in-game I did a mix of both good and bad things. But I at the end when I had the choice to help John or go back. I decided to go back for the money. Watching Micah stab Author in the back before dying. It genuinely made me question my real life choices. I’ve always been proud and determine to make more money and keep working more hours but was never afraid to give it to those I knew needed money. After seeing Arthur’s death it made me think of myself about being greedy. It was like a wake up call. I never had a game make me seriously think about my life.

I knew there was something off about Dutch when he murdered that strange woman in that cave in Guarma and he showed no remorse whatsoever

Getting to play as John again was bittersweet. After loving the first game so much (but Jack not being as fun as John), wishing for more John Marston gameplay, it should have felt exciting to play as John again... ...but Arthur's Redemption story hit so hard. The first bit of the epilogue, I found myself wishing I could've kept playing as Arthur (much like how RDR made you wish you could've kept playing as John).

Arthur dying was so sad. Amazing game! We will never experience anything like that.

The canon ending is high honor while helping John get to his family cause with that ending you get to end Arthurs story in the way he would have wanted, facing the West while remembering all the good times he had with the gang.... that imo is the only right ending

Ever since I finished the game years ago I always wondered imagine how different things could’ve turned out for Arthur and John if Charles was still with them and even if Sean or Lenny didn’t die they probably would’ve all been able to escape

There’s no way you left out the elephant in the room about the Saint Denis bank robbery. Literally everyone in the gang is where black except Micah. He is wearing all white. I refuse to believe that he wasn’t talking to the Pinkertons until after Guarma. I can imagine the conversation about the SD bank robbery. “Don’t shoot me I’ll be the only one in white”.

Why is no one talking about how Sadie named Arthur "honey" when asked to cover her saving Abigail? 16:34 It's a wholesome moment and probably either her expressing her feelings to him in his last moments, either attempt to influence arthur to accept her plan

The Storyteller wants you to believe that Micah is the rat but its Abigail. Why would they kidnapp her? Like Dutch does not care at all. Why does she want Arthur to take his son Fishing and the under tone was like she had something different in mind? Why Bronte who probably had connections to the pinkertons kidnap her son but no one else? out of all Persons why does she take the task of distracting the police with hosea, who is Dutchs right hand? Why does she have the key to dutchs money? Did the Pinkerton expect to bring them the key and all of a sudden she decided not to do so and they kidnapped her? And she shots Pinkerton without a blink.. Micah is just a bad Criminal and he just wants money. Thats why he is asking it all the time. Yes he is the Rat but in the Sense of He wants the Money for himself.. Its not his Problem that dutch loses his mind and betrays his gang..The Storyteller dressed him white in St. Denis in order to distract you from the real traitor. But the Rat who works with the pinkertons is Abigail.. But thats just my subjective opinion..

The only thing I would add to this, is I think Arthur's sickness had a bit to do with Dutch's favoritism with Micah. He knew Arthur was soon to be dead and was looking to his own selfish future that included someone being alive
