Advanced Pilates Reformer Workout (50 min of classical pilates)
Welcome to our advanced Pilates reformer session! Today, I'll be guiding my friend Renata Jarvi through a challenging hour of advanced exercises. We'll be following the advanced order, focusing on a continuous flow of movements. While there are more exercises we could add, we're keeping it simple today, following our manual for apprentices who are studying their advanced order.
Stay tuned for an upcoming video where we'll workshop each of these advanced exercises, providing more detail and insight. Hope you enjoy!

Beginner classical Pilates reformer session

A great video for apprentices learning their basic system: Reviewing hands-on, verbiage, and where to stand. Or for someone who has never done Pilates and curious what a session might be like. This is Fatimas first time ever doing Pilates, she did an amazing job! Anyone can enjoy the benefits of Pilates. We have systems for all body types, you don't need to be a dancer or an athlete.

    Hi April! Thanks for sharing a bit of your work. Your teaching style is great, very calm and precise. Love how you stay strong in your center while teaching Renata. Also, many thanks to Renata, who did this challenging workout to help your apprentices - and us! Quick question: I noticed you keep the mirrors behind the Reformer instead of in front of them. Is there any particular reason for that? Greetings! João

    • @apriltillmanpilates
      @apriltillmanpilates 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for all the kind compliments. You probably couldn't see in the video but I do have mirrors in front of the reformers as well as behind. When teaching I mostly use the behind mirrors and side mirror. The behind mirrors help me with seeing posture and alignment so I can do a lot of correcting has I stand in front of the foot bar and I like it when clients turn around and are doing exercises like pull-straps, chest expansion, thigh stretch ect...they can see their own alignment and make adjustments. I think more mirrors the better. Thank you for watching!

    Hi April! Thanks for the video, love how you make each tip fit seamlessly into the movement, so there's no need to stop! I have a quick question about the Roll Up: I've done it for a long time with flexed feet. I tried a couple times with pointed toes, and I could feel better my seat and my inner thighs. I've noticed it helps keeping my lower spine rounded as I lift off from my hips. But I'm not sure if it's the purpose, or it has another reason. I would love to know, if you don't mind! XO

    • @apriltillmanpilates
      @apriltillmanpilates ปีที่แล้ว

      Sounds like you got it! You should definitely be feeling all parts working. I like to mix it up with flexed and sometimes pointed depending on what I'm working on. The flexed feet I tend to feel my backside more plus you gain stretch--- both ways are correct. And the lower spine lifting off your hips, is key! Thank you :)
