my theory: humans and earth came to be from the atheist perspective. over time as they developed their own beliefs and religion, their faith gave birth to their mythologies and gods. the gods themselves don’t even understand their own creation and have no way of confirming if their creation myths are the real ones. but the lands people with faith inhabit take on the rules of their beliefs. seems very thematic to me with the current direction of GOW that it will be revealed that mortals possess the most power and the gods were always as powerful as those who worship them.

You guys should try reading the novel series, "Iron Druid Chronicles" by author Kevin Hearne. All mythologies exist and all Gods exists but the world is explained well. The earth is one, one sun and one moon and all that, but there are planes of existence that are tied to the earth based on the different mythologies. Its a good read The protagonist has the ability to travel to different planes. Its like in the multiverse stuff where there are earths overlaped on each other. In this novel, the different planes are overlapped with each other but the gods can only travel between their respective planes and the earth

Playing the psp game "Ghost of sparta" leaves you with the feeling that everything kratos did was justified, no more, no less, fuck Athena

god o war 3 was the only one of the original i played. I didn't hate him but i understood his revenge and rage was unrelentlessly and non caring for only one think in think in mind. But i love the new one alot. His transformation after all these years is amazing

There really isn’t much of a paradox here. Anyone who got to learn about Greek Mythology and knows the prophecies would side with Kratos and his misdeeds. He is truly a man living out a terrible Greek tragedy, but the tragedy is truly the fault of Zeus. Though we see Kratos’ trials and struggles, Zeus made the ultimate mistake defying the Fates. Kratos is a prophecy fulfilling itself in the worst way. In fact it’s why the GoW4 game explores the topic of prophecy so thoroughly. Kratos’ only knows he’s the child of Zeus, but doesn’t know his mother is Thetis, a Nymph whom was said to give birth to a child that would destroy Olympus if it were sired by one of the big three: Zeus, Poseidon, or Hades. Zeus f’ed around and all three games were the glorious play of him finding out.

I truly am disappointed to this day that They replaced the third gorgon sister Stheno with Scorpius. I would gladly pay to have her brought back in the PS5 remaster/remake. The Gorgon sisters are what Got me into greek mythology and from there God of War. Especially Giving that you can still find the old Audio Dialouge in the game files of Kratos confronting Stheno. "Let's see if you die as easily as your Sisters."

Here’s my theory as to how Christianity fits into the God of War Universe: God is created by the Primordial Elements, who in turn creates the Universe (including the Higher Plane of Existence). While god is creating the Universe, he creates the Gnosticism deities who in turn creates the Gods of Earth. When god creates and: or uses dark matter (dark matter may be a Primordial Element), he returns to Earth only to see the world full of chaos due to Kratos’ rampage across the realms, and thus make the Holy Spirit to replace the Gnosticism deities and creates Jesus to break down the grid system and sending the Gods of War from all realms to destroy their mythology. When they do, God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit come in and become the sole God of Earth, and the God of Wars just become mortals again.

biggest mistake was making Kratos death a bait and switch.

the reason people didnt care what kratos did is because if youve played the whole franchise before this, especially GOW2, you already have this sentiment about killing zeus. YOU the player wanting to kill him. and exactly like kratos, youre so focused on killing zeus, that you forget/dont care abt what youre doing. The game is very good at making you LIKE kratos. becoming the character itself. you want to do what he wants to do. imp, thats what also makes a good franchise, show etc. if you feel like youre the character in it. this is the same. thats why this franchise is the undisputable goat

How do the nine realms work in this? Are they just alternate dimensions of the same domain? Odin had no power in the primordial realms, so is the Norse area of the earth just like a multilayered cake?

So in the 2018 game, the only people that can go to other mythologies are people who can freely travel the 9 realms. Therefor, the other pantheons are simply other branches of reality. We do get some insight as to what happened on kratos' boat. And its very similar to realm travel. This realm travel thing would explain why theres some things in common with each pantheon (primordial flame for instance) as we saw in ragnarok, a realm can be destroyed and itll do nothing to the others. So itd stand to reason that the other pantheons are other realms. The dark elves had their own deities, but were also controlled by odin. Odin probably was their kratos.
