Donna's Adventures
Canada
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 29 พ.ค. 2006
Hello everyone! I enjoy wandering through the many parks that Edmonton and the area has, and learning about wildlife and plants that I otherwise would have never thought to look up. I also enjoy traveling around the huge country and exploring what Canada has to offer. I also enjoy cycling and painting. As an Ojibwe or Anishinaabe, I paint in the Woodlands style which depicts the deeper source of energy emitted by living and non-living beings. Tag along and see!
Maybe my videos will inspire some people to go explore their local city. Maybe visit the zoo. Or find some hidden park that you didn't know was there. Or maybe travel somewhere. Or maybe travel here. But I hope you enjoy your time here. ^_^

Coleman, Alberta - Mining! Murder! And Minor Mayhem!
มุมมอง 22621 วันที่ผ่านมา
On our way south, I wanted to make a visit to a special little town nestled in the Crowsnest Pass of Alberta - Coleman. This video was inspired by Marjorie Mahieu artist Thuin @marjoriemahieuartistthuin as she asked me a couple of years ago if it would be possible to visit this place and look around. Sorry it took so long, but I got there finally and I really am glad we did. We have a Patreon a...

Willmore Wilderness Area Backcountry Hiking Trip - The Wild Hay River and Seep Creek
มุมมอง 201หลายเดือนก่อน
We made a two-night backcountry hiking trip into the Willmore Wilderness Area. It's a very enjoyable area nestled in among the Rocky Mountains. If you go be prepared as there are a number of water crossings in the area. It's also a popular area for horseback riding so there will be a fair amount of horse manure along the trails and at campsites. We have a Patreon account for those would like to...
Cute Meerkat on Guard Duty at the Edmonton Valley Zoo (Slender-tailed Meerkat)
มุมมอง 55หลายเดือนก่อน
Meerkats have a complex social structure to their family. For the safety of the group, one meerkat will often serve as a lookout for danger. Today, this one was sitting upright and monitoring the zoo patrons and possible dangers overhead. Even though they were very serious about their job, they still look cute. Cuteness Overload! Meerkat in Bed at the Edmonton Valley Zoo (Slender-tailed Meerkat)

The Slender-tailed Meerkat is one of the many inhabitants at the Edmonton Valley Zoo. They have two enclosures - one outdoors and this one which is indoors. Lucy the Elephant at the Edmonton Valley Zoo, August 2024
มุมมอง 1.3Kหลายเดือนก่อน
Lucy the Indian Elephant lives at the Edmonton Valley Zoo. She is about 48 years old, and is in semi-retirement, so she is not on public display but sometimes can be seen when she is out for walks with her handlers. A great place to relax and recharge! The dessert looks very creative 👍
Dear Donna, my trip to the Canadian Rockies was my favorite vacation ever. You've brought all the beautiful memories back to me, as I watch today. Those gorgeous mountains, the fine lodges with their wonderful meals. My soul was filled with every experience. Thank you so much for taking us with you here. I remember Waterton so well. Have a beautiful day. Linda
Thank you so much, Linda! It's one of the reasons I was willing to move to Alberta and be near the Rockies - such a gorgeous set of mountains both in Canada and the U.S. After posting this I am surprised how many Americans have visited Waterton. Hope you have a great day as well.
What an incredible National Park, Donna. The lake, mountains, waterfalls, and landscapes are just stunning, and the birdlife is wonderful to see. The video capture of the bald eagle was especially impressive. I also loved the vintage hotel; it has such charm. Thank you for sharing all of this with us.
The grouse family took their sweet time crossing the road lol. So much beautiful nature you encountered. The food looked so good! Love the story behind the food. Absolutely beautiful here Donna. 👍😊🇨🇦
Wow that log house looks perfect! What a view to have living there.
This hotel can see lake. And mountain

super amazing footages...wonderful place....big like
AWESOME!❤✨️❤✨️ This is a really great job!💙👍 Thank you!🇧🇷❤❤✨️❤ 💙✨️💙✨️💙🙋♀️
That's some stunning scenery there Donna! Mule deer, interesting, we don't have those in the UK and it's my first time seeing one! That is indeed a cool hotel. Reminds me a little of The Shining though 😬 oh wow, beautiful inside, it reminds me of classic old movies. I like the little details like the tartan on the menus. That's by far the best-looking Welsh Rarebit I've seen, and I've travelled extensively in Wales 😅 wow the main and dessert looked great too. Definitely a place for a special occasion. Nice that it's walkable to burn off some of that food. Poop display, I'm glad that wasn't during dinner 😅 that's useful info though, for those that like to get out in the woods. You need to know when there might be bears around. Nice to see the First Nations represented. From what I've seen of your videos, it seems they're acknowledged more in Canada than in the US. Mmm Nice choice, curry! Chicken looked good too! Loads to see and do there and a little more luxurious than wild camping!
Hi Matt! I didn't film it but the waiters were dressed in kilts as well. The fancy meal was by far the best we had while we were there, and honestly wasn't that expensive. I think after the Truth and Reconciliation a lot of places have strived to include or at the very least, acknowledge the Indigenous people that lived on the lands. There was also a garden in behind the tourist info place that had more info and I always enjoy seeing the traditional names of the animals and places. Lol, the place we stayed at was very nice to base ourselves out of for hiking. Have a great day Matt and hope you don't get lost on any Chicken buses!
beautiful alberta
Thank you
What a stunning place to visit!
I agree. Thanks!
absolutely beautiful. lovely place to visit. thanks for sharing
Thanks, it truly is a beautiful place!
Waterton Lakes National Park was one of my favorite places that I visited when I was younger. The town is so cute and the lake is beautiful. Me and my Dad canoed on the lake which was so enjoyable. We stayed in a campground in town. I can remember Cameron Falls as well. Thanks for taking me back! Now I think I need to visit again. 😊👍

Thanks so much, Simon! It was a lot of fun to revisit Waterton and explore at a more leisurely pace. It really is a beautiful area.
Hi Donna, what a stunning location! Great capture of the bald eagle in flight. The Prince of Wales Hotel was very impressive and your food looked amazing. That cottage looked idyllic - not sure I could afford the price tag, lol! Thank you for a lovely vlog ❤❤
Thanks so much! We really enjoyed my trip to Waterton. I was very interested to look up that cabin but was a little shocked at the price! Have a great weekend!
What an amazing National Park Donna, so beautiful. I could spend days there, no.... make that WEEKS. Gorgeous nature there. (and the food looked great too...) Thanks for a brilliant video my friend... Wishing you a great weekend..... Thomas
Hi Thomas! It was amazing to visit and spend a few days, and I totally agree, we could easily spend a few weeks hiking the backcountry as well. Hope you're having a great weekend as well!
Wow what a beautiful location, perfect for landscape photography. The hotel near the beginning was a stunning building, I particularly liked the interior doors where you had your meals.
National park 🏞️ So beautiful 😍 Wow Stunning views
Glad you enjoyed the view!
Hello Donna. These are beautiful shots. Beautiful place. I loved watching. Thanks. I send greetings and wish you a nice weekend.🌞Pavel🦊
Wow. What a place Donna. Looks like you had a wonderful time. Our daughter honeymoons in Alberta next year. I will send her the video. The hotel and town look so beautiful!! Very much enjoyed watching Have a lovely weekend you guys.
Oh, that sounds like a fabulous plan - I would highly recommend Waterton - out of the way, beautiful, and way less crowded compared to Banff. And of course Jasper just had its unfortunate fire so they're still recovering. There's oodles of other places to eat - both casual and fine dining.
That must have been amazing to have drinks and eat at that hotel. We have been to Waterton Lakes before, but we just went in to admire the hotel. It looked like you picked a nice place to stay. I'm excited to see the hikes you go on! When we were there I think we hiked Bear Hump and Crypt Lake when we were there.
Wow beautiful place love area the house and the bed look so comfortable coffee machine yeah👏👍🏼 of the boat passes by butter chicken love it delicious 😋 hope you have a great day Donna 🪑🌄 love the waterfall ❤ 15:12
Really makes me want to go back there.
I would gladly head back as well! There's more to see.
The views are indeed scenic! Great looking hotel, and I would not mind to have a meal there either ;-)
❤ I have put a thumb up for your new video🗻🏞🦌 🎥👏👏👏 Spectacular and amazing trip 👍 Thanks for sharing what you have seen and eat👍 Have a great day filled with joy dear friend Donna 🙇🏼♀️ Greetings from Belgium 🇧🇪🙇🏼♀️🎶🎤🐦

Good evening Donna. what a beautiful walk. the scenary is so wonderful. Thanks for sharing this great video Have a nice day. Greetings. Manu
Great adventure! I’m happy that you got to go together! You had so many water crossings, whew! I can just imagine how cold the water was… brr. I’d say you’re experts now! Beautiful area - pretty wildflowers and nature… cute bug too. Sorry it hear it got so cold, sometimes when the sun comes up you can really feel it warm you up. Take care guys, Jennifer 👌👍👍☀☀
Lol, after all those water crossings I definitely felt more confident about doing it. I was pretty worried about Lyndon crossing barefoot but I'm glad he made it across. I'm also glad I was able to overcome my dislike of the Spruce Bug! It really was a great place and we want to head back to explore some more.
@@DonnaTaibossigai It’s a really nice Wilderness Area, hadn’t heard about it before. You’re definitely an experienced water crosser now, lol! I haven’t had crossings like that, so far we’ve had pretty shallow crossings that we just walk across- this was some serious water! Good job with the Spruce Bug too! ⭐⭐⭐
Fun exploring in Coleman! Nice that you could finally get there for a look around. My, that was one huge piggy bank! Nice nature and history! Thanks for sharing with us! 👌☀☀
Thanks so much, Jennifer! Coleman really was worthwhile to visit and I learned a lot. I especially liked the Miners Walk.
@@DonnaTaibossigai O yes, so much history! Very nice video! 👌☀☀
