That looks like a fun day out Donna. Did you "enjoy"(?) some good old Haggish there? Haha... Many thanks for sharing this lovely day with us. Warm greetings from Ang Kha, Thailand, Thomas
Thank you so much, Thomas! The haggis was alright but I wouldn't say I could taste much of anything different from a regular beef patty. It was such a fun event to attend.
That was a fun event to watch. Those people are tough!!! Cool to see the animals, cars, and hear the Music. Well done highlighting the event. Have a great day.
Awesome Donna. The bagpipes are lovely to hear. It was fun to watch how much skill it takes to throw that massive ball and long wooden pole. What a nice event. 👍😊👋
Like 🎉 wonderful teacher, thank you for sharing beautiful precious videos❤️ I hope you will always have a beautiful and wonderful life like a festival🙏
Hi ya Donna, My Husband loves Bagpipes,, he was listening in the background!! That sure is a fun festive! Very strong guys doing that! I bet the little pony was happy to see with its haircut!! Have a wonderful weekend!
It was a lot of fun visiting, and I really enjoyed seeing the Highland Games and learning about them - all the strong people were so inspirational. I also really enjoy hearing bagpipes, and seeing the full traditional dress was awesome, too. Hope you're having a great day!
A great fair Donna. I can see why you wrote it's like traveling. So much to learn about the competitions they have - I never really knew much about those heavy events or throwing what that they call a stick. Nice to hear the bagpipes and see haggis and those very stylish chickens ;) A very cool gathering. Thanks for sharing the views of the day. Best regards, Cathy
The strongman competition is so much fun with all the different events. I could never throw those things myself! It's great that there are even British classic car shows too! I was so excited watching them! 🤩👍✨
Hello Donna. Such a nice event. It was great to see the athletes compete in the Highland Games. Nice views of the different items for sale and listen to the traditional Scottish music. Also love all those vintage cars. Have a nice weekend my friend.
I'm not planning to indulge in the events either, no matter if I'm wearing funny looking, but well balanced shoes. My not so well balanced hip just hurts watching! Not sure if 21 ft. qualify as a "stick." Sticks and stones may break my bones, but these logs could really kill us! We enjoyed the bagpipes, events, dry burgers and the classic cars, especially with a sense of humor. Thanks for bringing us along.
Lol, I wasn't sure about the stick-size comment either. It was a lot of fun to attend and see these events. Since then I learned about several other gatherings that occur in the area. Thanks so much, Dave & Kathy and have a great weekend!
Oh Donna what fun/ Sp glad you decided to attend this festival. Love the Highland Games...the heritage being lived so as to pass the love and knowledge on. And the animals too- so cute. The vintage cars were gorgeous. I've often seen the Highland Games and they are so interesting to watch. The strength of some of those participants is admirable. Plenty of practice I'm thinking. The cherry on the cake must be the bagpipes- a lovely sound. Thanks for sharing this piece of Scottish history Donna. 👌🇳🇱🙋♀🥝
Thank you so much, Anita! It was a very fun event to visit and explore. I really learned a lot about the various Highland Games and seeing the strong ladies was really inspirational. It was great hearing the bagpipes as well. Have a great day!
Oh that was a stunning event. You’re right , it was like traveling without leaving home. Great that you captured the event. How I wish I could watch like that kind of show too :)
Great to have the Highland Games in Edmonton! I’ve seen them advertised near us, but we’ve never gone. I was really impressed by the athletic competitions, especially the women! That must be amazingly difficult to lift those logs poles, hold them up while walking, then throw them!! I wonder if only Scottish people join in these events. Great to have a touch of Scotland in Canada and hear the bagpipes. Fun cars too! 😄👌⭐️⭐️
It was really inspirational seeing those strong ladies and hearing that some of them compete professionally, too. I think they welcome people of any nationality, but I think the kilt is the only requirement. It would be interesting to learn how to throw it properly (and safely) but maybe with a much smaller stick to start. Thanks so much for watching, Jennifer!
How amazing these Scottish bagpiper play's this beautiful 🎵 my most favourite music instrument,so much to see new things with these venders with toys and paintings and art work 😮, didn't know Canada has such beautiful events, what was they were throwing? Tried to figure out but couldn't,it looks amazing sports,so many things to do in his events, also with that throwing metal boll ,it's so intresting,it would be great Fun to attend this event and so much fascinating!i thought it's only for a man,but I see even females too joining this Bamboo throw,it's amazing ,why women to be left behind 😅,it's really really Amazing, oh wow those duckling and goats and sheep rabbits and chicken and so many other too joins the event, thank you so much for lot's of fun and entertaining video 📷📸 have a great weekend my friend 🙏❤
Thank you, Dinesh! Traditionally I think it the Highland Games were only for men to participate in, but I was very happy to see women participating here. They were throwing a long log - 16 foot for women and 20 foot for men. Many Scottish people immigrated to Canada in the 1700's and 1800's so along with them they have brought their lovely heritage. Canada is a very neat country to be able to celebrate and learn about various cultures like this. Have a great day!
@@DonnaTaibossigai how nice to know that all these games were played and i m sure everyone must have had a great fun, it's was something amazing and new to know from the different world and culture and beautiful things through your videos, thanks to you for filming this beautiful video for us 🤗🙏
When I read the title I thought for one moment you had moved to Scotland Donna! Amazing to keep the Scottish traditions alive here. What a brilliant event. Those Heavy Events are incredible! Hope you are having a great week. Take care, Paul
Thanks so much, Paul! It was a fabulous event to check out and great that so many Scottish people celebrate their heritage like this. Hope you're having a great week as well - things have been smoky due to wildfires unfortunately but it's been a pretty good week in spite of that.
I have put a thumb up for your new video 😃👍❤ Great Scottish Games in Alberta 👏👏👏 Congratulations for your very pleasant walk and explanation 👍 Greetings from Belgium 🇧🇪🙇🏼♀️🎶🎤🐦
Vielen lieben Dank für den tollen Beitrag 👍 wünschen dir einen schönen Freitagabend und Wochenende ❤ danke für gegenseitige Unterstützung 🔔 Siggi & Anne 👍
That looked like a blast! Thank you for letting us tag along with you. The 'games' were very interesting and the petting zoo would have been a big hit with me. :) Great stuff! Love your sense of humor.
I'm sorry Donna this is nothing like a real Highland event. I mean, what on earth is that yellow thing in the sky doing there? 😂 in all seriousness, looked a lot of fun. I didn't realise that much technique went into tossing the caber! I've never seen a goat jump before, that was pretty impressive 😅 boot, that's right! Looks like they could've made it a 4-seater and done away with some of that boot space! I wonder what we used to do before electric wipers 🤔 not sure about haggis patty, I'll have it on a plate with other stuff but not as the main ingredient 😅 looked like a fun day out 😁
Lol, it is kind of interesting how cultures get boiled down into a few choice tidbits. I was really glad they had the Heavy Events and that was what brought me there. I think before the electric wipers one would have to stop and squeegee off the dirty windshield, but I guess the slower driving speeds would have fewer splashes and bug splatters, too. I have to agree, I'm not sure the haggis patty gave a fair impression of the food. It really was a fun event to visit.

Looks amazing day, something I would love to go to.

The strength of the women in the hammer throw and log throw is amazing. It's a wonderful festival with a lot of history.👍
Thank you so much, Ramujiro! It was really great seeing all the strong competitors and hearing the pipers, too.
I enjoyed watching the Scottish Highlands Gathering in Edmonton, Alberta (^^♪
The hammer throw and other events were very exciting!
Really liked seeing the unique competition/sporting events and all while wearing kilts. I like the sound of bagpipes too.

Looks like a great event Donna. I had no idea that they celebrated the Highland Games over there. Im not a fan of Haggis, but i like HP sauce 😀💞
I had no idea either until I heard about the gathering. The HP sauce made the haggis burger pretty good. Thanks so much, Mick!
2:10 great ways to dislocate your shoulder
True, one would have to have a lot of practice to do it safely.

Did Pink Floyd perform after dark?
You know…….. Several small species gathered together in a cave and grooving with a Pict?????
I'm sure that's why the petting zoo is there.
