iZotope Neutron 5 Review | Is it REALLY the ULTIMATE mixing plugin?
• Neutron 5 now comes with 11 plugins: there is a mothership plugin and 10 components, you can use as single plugins.
• I am personally very excited about the new Phase module that fixes asymmetrical waveforms. It’s a common problem and till now not very easy to fix. The module can also be used to sync two kicks or kick and bass for more powerful low end.
• Speaking of dynamics, they also added clipper module they claim may compete with the best clippers on the markets - and seems to be quite easy to add some more energy using it.
• Also new is Density module that performs intelligent upward compression to give your audio more presence, detail, and fullness.
• In Neutron 5 all modules have Delta buttons, so you can hear what is being added or substructed from the singlal.
• For even more presision Neutron 5 not only works in stereo but also in Mid/side and transient/sustain channel modes
• There are also a lot of smaller improvements, including waveform and spectrum view, dials s updated visualizations are now even clearer, easier to understand, and more customizable, letting you dial-in your settings with confidence.
• Comparing to Neutron 4 New grid, there are also a lot of smaller improvements, including refreshed waveform and spectrum view, it just seems a little bit smoother. T here is some vinieting around the egdes. Gagdes knobs were replaced by new know design. There is new black color, it is a bit darker, there are also some new colors.
• Cool thing about Neutron is that you can take literally any sample and match it’s dynamics and overall tone automatically.
• There is also a Visual Mixer and Balance Assistant.
• There is also a NEW Clipper module!

While I absolutely love studio one for recording, The show page is abysmal compared to its competitors. Until they make it so the show page can send CC messages to external hardware for scene change then its just not worth it for live use.
Babe, wake up! The newest Techno-Bard subclass just dropped.
What DAW are you using?
that's ableton.
@jbornhoft thanks 😊
I was thinking about it, but this thing costs 400$, and a PS5 cost 500$. I can't justify buying such low tech for such a high price. No way this tech should cost so much. I wouldn't pay more than 150 for this device, and even then I'd still be skeptical.
You mean Play Station 5?? I have never seen anyone comparing a sampler or synthesizer to a gaming console:))) But maybe we should look this way? I don't know. Musical hardware is special, because it actually let us enter the world of art and create something unique. Gaming console is pure entertainment, playing instrument and making music can be frustrating at times, but it also can be much more rewarding than just playing the newest GTA - just my opinion. Oh, and synths will never get high tech, because they are manufactured in tousands, not mllions.
Thanks, well done! I just wished the production suite update was $100 and not $200
Hace todo solo todo es automatico loops😂😂😂 no gracias no me interesa
fuuuuck i love this :D ... KCDII inspiration i guess :D
Awesome video. Can you tell me what plugin you are using to visualize the waveform like that? I have a couple free oscilloscopes, but they just don't look as good as that one you have there. Thanks!
A very useful and informative video (and some amazing music too!) ☺️
the beats are fire❤
what gear are you using ?
Making a track or even a simple beat on this thing is so rewarding...it doesn't feel like cheating, or just dragging and dropping. There's real thought and precision in creating a track piece by piece.
Bx townhouse compressor or bx glue?
WOW! The drums on this sound pro. Incredible live performance!
Thanks a lot!
Uslyszalam polski akcent.Mialam nosa.😄A ja jestem nadal na Studio One 2😂🤣😅
Is it possible to route the samples from Leap to your DAW? I can't figure this one out.
Beat at this volume while explaining stuff is super annoying thumps down
No polyphonic aftertouch is really shocking. Stupid omission. I’m out.
This is a great review! Well balanced, valid opinions thrown in, you should have more subscribers. Criticism is deserved and I like the idea of a PreSonus Launchpad.
Hey man, what chair you have there?

@PoloTremelo : That track 'Higher Place - Diafonie' : What's that track from? I have a Maschine Mikro mk3 but have only used it for finger drumming. How'd you get that stemmed track? It's fire! 🔥
0:07 it doesn't have launchpad integration 18:38 who did you get that confirmed from, Presonus? I would doubt Novation would do the integration, needs to be Presonus.
Yes, from Presonus. It is now official info: “Native support for Novation Launchpad mini [MK3], Launchpad X, and Launchpad Pro [MK3].” www.presonus.com/en-US/studio-one-pro-features.html I hope it will be coming soon
Hey i appreciate the video! you the reason why i bought it...question though do you how to add more steps in the fl studio sequencer?
Hey, congrats it’s a beautiful keyboard! I actually got this keyboard for a few days only because I run some workshops in Poland. I don’t have it anymore in my studio, so cannot check and answer your question:(
@@PoloTremolo aww dam lol thanks for the response!
Le truc cest que tu nes pas pédagogue alors que tout le matos est bien! Sans maitrise la puissance n'est rien
can i use this device with Max/MSP?
Not sure what you mean exactly☺️ it has midi so I guess you can build some M4L devices to send MIDI to the unit but overall it’s a very simple device
I have the KO 2, just ordered the medieval. Can’t wait!
Cool, having 2 units will be 2x fun:)
maszine ? hahahaha sounds like kkokakola i oranzus NOBODY DOES MENTION WHAT IS MISSING :-( , fpr example chord playing with the mouse...........
Good Job Bro!!!
Hi, thank you for the detailed walk through...I was wondering, did they include all the console shaper plugins, and all their analog emulation plugins like their ssl, neve compressor etc that were all add ons in past versions?
Loading samples and loops is NOT making music , it's just coloring by numbers How sad
I hope KRK does better supporting these when they are older and in need of repairs. If you are not from the US you are in for a rough ride trying to get KRKs repaired. Cheaper to throw them out.
Solid review. Has there been any improvement to the Jog wheel functionality in v7. I own a couple of Faderports, but in v6 I've only ever been able to achieve a lowest resolution of 1 bar forwards or backwards which is a real shame compared to using them in other DAWs. The interface looks a lots clearer which is nice.
Personally, I highly recommend checking out and selecting different color palettes or schemes from Personus Exchange (browser). Not sure why, but the default ones are still quite ugly(I've picked Cubase(blue)/Coramel23 combos)
After detecting the tempo and dragging it to the tempo track is there a way to stretch and it to a fixed tempo.
Yes, of course. Definitely! Maybe I cut it in the editing, but actually it is enough to select all points and delete them and then you’ve got one straight line responsible for fixed tempo. Actually, it is a requirement for searching Splice samples you can only drop loops with fixed tempo.
awesome
Most inspiring video, dude. Subcribed :) You mention (@12.50) that S7 has great K Kontrol integration - can you please explain further or share a link? Cheers!
Thanks a lot. I really appreciate it reading. Those comments makes me want to make more videos:) I had a S88 MK2 keyboard and with MK3 now it seems to work the same way so I guess you can just watch other videos with studio one 6 and kk mk2 to see how it works. I don’t have the video about MK3 yet;)
Best version 7 demonstration on the Tube A-M-A-Z-I-N-G Like you I own/use all the DAWs and must say Studio One 7 is currently my favorite
Thank you 🙏🤸♂️🥂
you can assign any shortcut or midi cc to any loop launcher function, search cell on keyboard shortcut. i can start, stop, change the cell etc with my behringer keyboard
I have 6 plus. I cant find any way to update or upgrade to 7?
Do you have a subscription? I guess you should still be able to stay on subscription and update. Upgrade price of $149 is from what I understood only for those who have any previous perpetual version. Other than that, the price is $199.
Amazing video 100% Thank you. I have just upgraded to V7. I have always had problems with using machine 2 in Studio one. I always wanted a bus channel with 16 tracks and be able to just record midi etc. I have never been able to properly achieve this properly. I don't suppose you have done a video on how to do this, or a S1 template/machine template with this in?
I did this experiment with recording 48 MIDI tracks from 3 VST instances of Maschine in 2019 and I don't know when I will find time to do it again. It may take me a few weeks, I probably will share it somehow, maybe a video, maybe Patreon. But I don't have this old projects. Thanks for motivation! Cheers!
@@PoloTremolo PATREON Sounds great 👌
Studio one user since version 4 Easily best DAW for me and well for many others for a reason:))
Secondo te si capisce qualcosa di quello che stai facendo? Se ti muovi così velocemente senza spiegare i tasti che schiacci, puoi anche fare a meno di fare un video che fa solo girare la testa
Great review! Thank you for showing Ableton link! No one else is.
I am a huge Maschine fan, so expect more about that:) I might also try to add Traktor 4 Pro via Ableton Live to that!
I have been with Studio One since version 3. I agree with you. With version 7, Studio One can arguably claim title as the best all-around DAW, not only for features but for stability and ease of use. Very excited to see how it will evolve in the coming near future, especially with three-four big updates a year with their new developmental plan. Nice review.
Thanks a lot. I almost dumped all other DAWs when Dolby Atmos in SO6 came out, but SO7 is so much more than I expected in this update! Cool!
Three-four big updates a year will never happen, mark my words
Yes Studio One is good but nothing has been added that is innovative its things I have seen already on other DAWs for years.
@@warlanefamit will happen.
6:20 - you can now loop clips on timeline, like in Live - just drag the bottom-right corner :)
Thanks for bringing that out, you are right, of course:) but for some reason I couldn’t extend loops dragged from Splice, it worked with loops dragged from library. but I guess it is a small bug of a pre-release version - I forgot to mention that.
The remix sounds great!
Thanks 🙏 maybe I should finish it ☺️
@@PoloTremolo sounds like a plan!
heavy-handedly turning another knob every half second without listening or knowing what they’re doing… then complaining about the resulting sound. 😂
I admit, I am a bit heavy-handed 🤣But it also comes down to the result and if you can get good results quickly.
No chord mode, no CV and no sequencer. Should be a few hundred dollars cheaper.
Yeah, I agree they could have added more sophisticated chord mode, and pre-programmed chord progressions in different genres - but the keyboard itself is a really good one, a pleasure to play and a nice looking piece of furniture 😉. I think they realized many modular oriented artists use other CV keyboards and I intentionally removed that feature.
Thanks for sharing. Learned a lot.
