Good overview. I'm trying to decide between the Launchkey 25 and the mini 37. I'm not a keyboard player but I'd love to access the extra keys... but I keep hearing that the Launchkey mini keys are noisy and don't feel very good (especially compared to controllers like the Minilab).
Since you recently reviewed the Arturia Keylab 49/61 mk3, how would you compare the feel of the keys with this Novation (the full size)? You were more detailed in the other review video about the feel and this to me is the most important thing about a midi keyboard. Which one do you prefer playing on for eg piano vs synth sounds? Thanks!
For the keypad alone, I would prefer Keylab:) It is similar to high end synthesizer keyboard. I would say Novation 49/61 with semi weighed keys is somewhere between Keylab Essential mk3 and Keylab mk3. Novation is very nice and light for electric piano sounds, for synths both are good.
What about controlling V collection and Pigments on the Launchkey? I have the keylab mk2 sand looking to upgrade. I really like the features on launchkey.

Do you recommend to use with Ableton Push 3 Standalone? With one USBA to USBC cable it can be connected and control all track volumes & control devices on selected tracks ? For live performing i would like to choose complementary controller beside my Ableton Push 3 Standalone.
Very nice demonstration!Would you choose this or kompete kontrol s49 mk3 if polyphonic aftertouch will be used frequently. Also, can you tell me what plugins enable polyphonic aftertouch with komplete kontrol s49 mk3...
Great video, thank you. Please though, say "Mark 4" not "M K 4", the only reason this has happened over the last few years is because AI voiceovers say it wrong, we should be correcting them not following them.
I think there will be some overlapping. Push is still king when it comes to finger drumming, step sequencing in Ableton live. If you already have Push you’ll be better off choosing Keykab or NI Komplete Kontrol keyboard 🎹
I think the push is missing Arp (can be added through Ableton but it's fiddly) and the chord modes of the Launchkey are unmatched (filter mode to learn scales on the piano). Also, Splitmode is very interesting
Ayy 🫣 thanks 🙏 I copied it from the wrong file … if I find time I will put right timestamps. Honestly I love recording videos but hate doing thumbnails and timestamps🤣
Honestly, coming from a novation launchkey 61 mk3, do you truly see a point in upgrading?? I am willing to upgrade but i do not know what honestly is different and worth the upgrade?
I would say, I still prefer premium Keylab keybed, but it is definately much better than Keylab Essential MK3: mainly because Luanchkey 49/61 acutally have semi-weighted keybed and Keylab Essentinal is just a synth action keybed, nice but kind of flat in response - still very good though ;)
Not perfect, indeed. Inside Components, the endless encoders have limited "absolute" functionality. Minimum to maximum. The fact that Relative is not an option in the editor is a major, ridiculous oversight. They need to update Components and also, the firmware, to get this controller as good as it can be. It's close, but that is such a huge mistake, it annoys the hell out of me. Additionally, the Play button, on the Mini 37, does not send a MIDI message (often Ch16, CC115, which is standard for Transport: Play). The Record button DOES send MIDI, though (Ch16, CC117). These small oversights really make the controller craptastic. If they can fix these two things, they could really have a winner on their hands.
Dang ...you sure know your way around what seems to be a very powerful controller!

@@PoloTremolo Appreciate the answer! Sounds like the Arturia is for me. 😊

Are the faders accurate like sensitive when mixing??? Or are the 8 encoders better for mixing volume??? Thanks!!!
which better feels NI A61 or Novation Launchkey MK4

Good point!
I have a Push 2, any reason to add one of these? Plus it has keys and the other one doesn't. Thanks

did you mean to write launchpad instead of keylab, in the timestamps?

No need to upgrade, mk3 is just fine. Sure, the pianobed are slightly better and you get some additional controls. But, it's not worth upgrading.

Dzięki! :D
this keyboard is the best on the market!what make him not perfect is the lack of the sustain fonction (need then a pedal)
goddamn this demo music slaps
Thanks 🙏 nice to hear that. Just one of my unfinished old school houses:)))
