I’m looking at a 2006 Porsche cayman s. Supposedly it’s had excellent care, and has 108k miles. What should I expect if I constantly use it for the track like an hour per day?
Mine is a 2013 Porsche 991.1 Carrera S ordered from Germany by myself and owned since brand new with 0 miles. It now has only 17,000 miles on it.

Not many talk about driving these things at top RPM. 100 boring. 110 gets rid of the RiffRaff. 120 to 175 Is where it starts. Slow by today's standards.
These cars are about the journey and not the top speed or how quickly it accelerates. You are correct plenty fast electric cars with no soul

i love my 991.2 turbo s but always love the 997 turbo. this one is nice. just ditch the stuck on window tint looks horrible bubbling on the matrix

from what I gather and I haven’t driven one yet…. doesn’t this turbo also address the long gearing issues of porsches? i think the flat 6 4.0 is probably ideal, but for people who like to row, the turbo 4 gives you more to do if you want.. or not bc torque and overlap in the gears

Hello my friend! Thank the the fabulous content . I watching your channel here in Los Angeles California! I finally purchased the car of my dreams. A 2006 997.1 Cab. Although I heard so much about the potential issues that may come with urge gen one 997. I still took the plunge . From an individual that really too good care of it . I’m the 3rd owner . This will be a weekend car for me . I have other daily’s . My question: hope it’s not a dumb question, but is there a wrong or right way to warm these cars up? Some say don’t let it idle no more than 1-2 minutes. Others say start it and drive . Then I heard you can idle it until it meet its temperature. What do recommend? It s kind of confusing. Thank you and keep up the great work !
Hey Dave, very pleased to hear you took the plunge and bought the car. Thank you for watching the channel. Re warm up; just drive the car and not more than 4K rpm until temperatures are optimum. They certainly don’t need to stand around during idle for warm up. Hope it helps.

Drove 6 992s including base, T, S, 4s to compare with 991.1S, none of them even close to 991.1s' excitement level.

I got the Cayman cause these 911s have just gotten too big in size! You are right about the look being similar to classics. The Cayman is perfect for the Canyons.
And the cayman is very capable handling wise too

The .2 S is rare for bore scoring. Maybe very isolated cases. The 2.9 is a fantastic engine too

I have driven both the 991.1 and own a 991.2 GTS. The .2 is the sweet spot and a true mastwr stroke by Porsche. Once you drive a .2 you will realise they are next level.
I’m warming up to the .2, I just feel at low speeds the .1 sounds better
Once you understand the dynamics of engineering required to create a .2 to sound like a .1 it is by far the pinnacle of engineering
Isn’t the .2 turbo vs NA on the .1? Wouldn’t you rather have the NA as it’s the last NA GTS
Think yours has gained an extra 10BHP over the standard 345

My best friend has a 1979 Porsche 911 SC Targa with less than 40,000 miles. Sadly It has not run for over 30 years! My only hope for the car is to acquire it after he passes, He will probably outlive me !! Ha-Ha. He bought it new in 79' with special dealer added mods, the wheels were wider, I think from a turbo. The color was a pale yellow, it was maybe "FLAX" ? interior was a chocolate brown full leather, the FUCHS wheels were body color. The last time I saw it a light paint correction would have brought it to 100%. It will be a real barn find one day...........
