I have a 981S with PDK here in the states and I love it. It’s a great car, although my headliner has started to droop. Luckily my father in law owns an automotive upholstery business
Im hopefully going to start my search for a 981 cayman soon this year or next year. Im moving more to the non S now mainly due to budget plus i dont hear its much different between the S engine unless someone lets me know. Another thing is manual or pdk 🤔
Go for the base on the assumption that you are like most people an average driver, they are not night and day apart, when driven within the legal limits then they are identical in performance, buy the S if you intend to track the car for the extra power. To pay premium to buy the S only to drive it within the national speed limits is as good as pissing in the wind, If money is not as issue then S is ok.
The PDK is incredibly fast even today. And the car still looks sharp! The interior is perfectly layed out and it sounds amazing.
One of the best gearboxes out there. What do you drive?
@@invictusporsche I am 14 years old so no car for me sadly. However, my dad said when i turn 16 he will get a 986 Boxster for me.
Just sold my cayman s 2010. Loved it , there superb cars
Oh those Gen 2 987s are very desirable
It's a 981, not 918.
Thank you for correction. Slip of tongue
This is the best looking year for the Caymans.
I agree, a bit like E46 generation for bmw 3 series.

i think im going to buy one this fall. theyre quite reliable arent they?
Guardsman red ?
981 looks better than the 718.
It does have cleaner lines; do you have a 981?
@@invictusporsche yes, I had a 987 also. I didn't like the back lights of it. I also don't like the back lights of a 718. That's just my taste.

Go for the S if you can afford it. And also manual if you are not doing a lot of city or town driving
