The events of the true story were condensed and slightly rearranged, with one noticeable bit being the Von Erichs vs Freebirds beef/rivalry being followed by Kevin’s wedding to Pam, and David’s death occurring after the wedding, Kerry’s victory at the David Von Erich Memorial Parade of Champions against Ric Flair in which he won the World Heavyweight Championship belt did occur in the months following David’s death, though Kerry would lose the belt just over two weeks later to Ric Flair because for reasons unknown to myself he’d no showed to a couple of matches, the next stretch of events following his victory are also rearranged with Kerry’s accident which occurred in 1986, being placed after his victory at Parade of Champions, despite occurring two years after that match, Mike’s dislocated shoulder and subsequent coma occurred in 1985, during this whole string of tragic events Fritz repackaged a somewhat known wrestler as a member of the family, giving this wrestler the new persona of Lance Von Erich. Now, this wrestler having been re-dubbed Lance was marketed as the cousin to Kevin and his brothers, but that was all kayfabe since the new persona’s father was supposed to be Fritz/Jack’s kayfabe brother from his own wrestling days, given that ‘Lance’ was somewhat known under his prior wrestling persona, this attempt to pull one over on the fans didn’t exactly work and made the fans upset. ‘Lance’ real name William Vaughn technically shows up in the movie, played by Maxwell Friedman, he’s the wrestler in the ring during the scene where Kevin is just standing outside waiting to be tagged in.

I really liked this movie- as one of 4 kids and having just lost my sister when I went to watch it - I was moved and sobbed the whole way through. Really interesting story- of brotherhood, of togetherness, of passions, of hard work and persistence, and of a string of bad luck and heartbreak. :(

Please note that, at the point in Middle Earth history wherein this occurred, Saruman had not yet been corrupted by Sauron. You can see that he is a bit less wise and, well, "in tune" than Galadriel, Elrond and Gandalf, but he still is being true to the purpose for which he and the other Istari were sent.

This movie deserved to win an Oscar... I'm really pissed off that the issue they were talking about was "why Greta Gerwig was not nominated for the oscar?" This fake controversy was ridiculous.

Wrestling is scripted. What they do is tell a story in the ring, so disqualifications, interference, attacking the referee is all planned. Wrestlers are divided into good guys and bad guys, its the role they play, given to them usually by the booker or the promoter. The booker or promoter also decide who wins, how they win, or how the match will end. Its a live stunt performance show with characters. The more popular a wrestler gets the more push he gets. You asked why David? He was the most charismatic and people loved him so he was chosen by the booker. Wrestlers do get hurt, you can't fake gravity, but they do this multiple times a week that they get used to the bumps.

Yup, I cried while watching this movie. It’s such a beautiful portrayal of friendship and how raw it can be, even as kids.

Littlefinger doesn't actually remember their first "wedding night". After his duel with Brandon, he was drugged up. Lysa took advantage of him. He thought was Cat. Her father had her take moon tea (the morning after pill). There is even a fan theory that Robin is Baelish's son.

As other people pointed out, there was a 6th Von Erich son named Chris who had also committed suicide like Mike before him and Kerry after him. Chris was omitted from the movie because the director felt that there was already too much tragedy in the movie to take. At the time of Kerry's suicide, he was going through a nasty divorce and was facing jail time for violating a probation for forging prescriptions for painkillers. Kerry left behind 2 daughters named Holly and Lacey. Lacey would get into the Wrestling Business herself competing in TNA Wrestling from 2009 to 2011. 2 of Kevin's children Ross and Marshall are currently in the Wrestling Business as a Tag Team and have appeared in TNA Wrestling, AEW, MLW and several Independent companies.

That you so much for sharing this and having the courage to be so raw and open with the emotions that it made you feel. From my personal perspective, I feel as if you reacted to this film in the exact same way as I did, only much more eloquently. I cried along with you watching your video and also had to pause it to get some tissues. Such a beautiful but heartbreakingly tragic film.

At the very start when Lipps says "Aww he has such a nice smile" I was like "yeah you're doomed." 😭😭😭😭😭

They surmise that because they don’t know any better. I won’t say what he is becoming, as it’s a spoiler if I’m right. I can’t wait to see him again in season 2, though!

A few differences between the movie and real life: There was another brother named Chris who wasn't in the film. They basically combined him into the Michael character. He also died by suicide. Kerry was actually found by the dad. Kevin called him to say that Kerry would be coming and that he'd need to look after him until Kevin could get there. The dad was doing some paving/concrete work out front, so when he answered the phone he basically cut Kevin off with an "I'm really busy I'll have to call you back". Kevin called back but couldn't get him to answer the phone. The gun that Kerry used wasn't given to Fritz for Christmas...it was a Father's Day gift. Definitely has a little more of a f*ck you sting to it. Great reaction. It made me wish that when I watched this movie I wasn't familiar with the Von Erich story already. I feel like the reveal of Kerry missing his foot would've completely floored me.

One of the movies that make you realize wrestling isn't "fake" these guys live breathe and die by that shit.

The best way to look at wrestling is this - it is a movie telling a story about a fight between good and bad, with the action sceenes played out by trained athletes in front of a live audiance. I would reccomend watching Mankind and The Undertaker Revisit Their Infamous Hell in a Cell Match.
