Blues for Louis – Oscar Klein & Philadelphia Jerry Ricks
A clip from a Swiss school TV series produced in the early 1980s intended to introduce young people to jazz and the blues.
Oscar Klein, born in Austria, was a highly talented multi-instrumentalist who played guitar, trumpet, clarinet and harmonica. His career took off in the early sixties when he joined the renowned Dutch Swing College Band.
In the late seventies and early eighties Oscar Klein performed and recorded regularly together with Philadelphia Jerry Ricks, who had made his home in Europe after leaving the USA.

Thirty Dirty Women - Louisiana Red

A clip from a performance given by Louisiana Red at the Nyon Festival, Switzerland, in 1986. Born in Alabama, USA, Louisiana Red had a long stage and recording career beginning in the late1950s. In 1981 he moved to Germany and subsequently made frequent appearances at many festivals and clubs throughout Europe. Sorry about the poor picture quality of this clip that was salvaged off an old VHS c...
Low Down Dog - Leonard "Baby Doo" Caston
มุมมอง 6K11 ปีที่แล้ว
Recorded at Wilebski's Blues Saloon, Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA, in March 1984. Perhaps not one of the best-known names on the blues scene, Baby Doo Caston was nevertheless a successful Chicago musician in his day. His recording career began about 1940 when he formed the group The Five Breezes together with Willie Dixon. Backing him on this number are the Minnesota Barking Ducks. Sorry about th...

Long Black Car - Rick Vito and The Lucky Devils
มุมมอง 38K12 ปีที่แล้ว
A clip from a concert first shown on German TV in 2000. The song was written by Rick Vito and Tony Marsico. Rick Vito played with Fleetwood Mac for several years in the late eighties and early nineties before becoming a long-standing member of Bonnie Raitt's band. In more recent years he has been touring and recording once again with Mick Fleetwood, playing some quite convincing covers of Peter...
Albatross - Peter Green with The Splinter Group
มุมมอง 1.7M12 ปีที่แล้ว
A clip from a concert first shown on a German TV channel in 1998. Nigel Watson does most of the guitar work on this piece, and makes an excellent job of it, while Peter adds the harmony. It would be interesting to know who played what on the original recording by Fleetwood Mac. Is Nigel Watson simply playing Danny Kirwan's part?

This is a clip from a concert first shown on German TV in 1998. The song was written by Peter Green and originally recorded in 1968 during his days with Fleetwood Mac. Nigel Watson does most of the guitar work on this live version while Peter concentrates on the soulful but rather strained vocal. For a better indication of Peter's capabilities as a vocalist I suggest you listen to some of his e...
Homework - Rick Vito and The Lucky Devils

I think this was first shown on German TV in 2000. A great cover of this old Otis Rush song. Rick Vito played with Fleetwood Mac in the late eighties and early nineties before becoming a member of Bonne Raitt's band. More recently he has toured as the frontman in The Mick Fleetwood Blues Band, covering many of the songs recorded in the sixties and early seventies by the original Peter Green's F...

Always right where he is in the universe. Thank you kind sir …
Great take on a favorite! What brand of amps are they using?
Peter Green💚🎸
Peter Green had that Black Magic Woman ability to mesmerise with his musical talents.
another heavenly guitar master...conversing with💪😁
Als Fleetwood Mac war Herr Grün aber besser... 🎈🦉
Wonderful! Stomp your feet and grin! Makes me happy to hear these guys.
In VERY loving memory of Mr. Philadelphia Jerry Ricks (1940 - 2007 R.I.P. Gone but NOT forgotten).
Him and Danny Kirwan had it tough..
Bravo!! Thank-you Peter. Never to be forgotten. RIP
love it, love his music. if there wasn't a young PG to compare to, what would we say about this old man's playing? like BB King, but actually better, for my personal taste. (I love BB as well).
Seen him live at the Albert Hall years ago. Said who wants a six pack when you can have the whole barrel
Saw Peter and The Splinter group alongside John Mayall’s blues breakers, Sunderland Empire. 1999 . A real honour 🙏🏻
Never seen Peter playing a Telecaster before this clip ! 🎸
Are you kidding me. Amazing. Thanks for posting. There was a time I coulda seen em. Blew it.
It is unfortunate that the LSD also turned him into Arthur Scargill.
Now that's a good name for a band. Peter Green is a legend . I want that strat
Is the man in the yellow shirt in the audience possibly Mike Oldfield?

So great to hear Peter doing Supernatural again after so many years. His perserverence itself was supernatural. RIP, friend. ❤
Seen him live and i had a nice chat with him in the 90`s when he visited Norway
Now THATS entertainment!!
Stones did a good version on Exile
The other God of English Blues Mr Peter Green the Best of the Best Boogie on his guitar 🎸🎸🎹🥁
Leider hat er sich zu oft unter Preis verkauft. Oder, soll ich sagen, gluecklichweise? Ich sah ihn 1983 in meiner Stammkneipe in einer Kleinstadt ( max 50.000 E.w), und zwar UMSONST! DANKE, DAS WAR EIN erlebnis fuer mein Leben.
WOW
I dont care if peters not playing or not playing much its peter green ffs i saw him live in 2000 and it made hairs stand up on back of my neck. Just magical. ❤
Sad Peter has left us and the music here isn't as good as his younger days, I often wonder just what his career would have been like if he hadn't had all the drug problems........
Rick Veto, always enjoy hearing you play this tune. Great job of a classic
Han är ju naturligtvis en av de bästa gitarrister all time!!!
I love this guy and I always will, R.i p
The difference between Clapton and Greeny is that the People Love Greeny!
I am so glad that Pete made it back to being what he always was in his heart - a Bluesman!
I saw him play one Sunday Lunchtime around 1998 in a pretty small venue, 100 people maybe. i remember him as an absolutely huge man, hands like shovels and banana sized fingers. He made his guitars look like child's toys. But what a player, what a voice, he also had a massive presence about him too in that little room there was total silence apart from his singing , playing and telling stories for about 2 hours.
The concerts in Hamburg are so wonderful, but it's along time ago❤
There were so many great guitar players in my lifetime, there never was a time for him . He never made an lmpact on me , and he didn’t play shows when I was going to see everyone, and I mean everyone!!! 70 years of concerts, he was always like a mystery guy??
Very musical man. The famous studio cut of this...I can get his tone and it's surprisingly easy to play in D. The four notes that he sustains forever are F (on 13th). A, C. D (on 20th) and all the phrases following the dominants are just Dm pent. If he was using his Les Paul to record that, which is semi hollow, I don't know what he did to get the fluid sustain. Might be done mixing, since he does that 60's thing where the sound goes left to right. I'm glad he came back to his music. That illness is devastating.
In this version the other guitarist plays whole theme. Peter just plays along. If you don't trust, see the video carefully again. 😢

The Most Incredible Resurrection of an artist that I know of! Peter put a Happy Ending on his music! It still has the Power of Rattlesnake Shake! Shake the World!

Je confirme 😊
I love Peter Green and Otis Rush but this has me becoming a Ric Vito fan.
Me too.
