Thirty Dirty Women - Louisiana Red

A clip from a performance given by Louisiana Red at the Nyon Festival, Switzerland, in 1986.
Born in Alabama, USA, Louisiana Red had a long stage and recording career beginning in the late1950s. In 1981 he moved to Germany and subsequently made frequent appearances at many festivals and clubs throughout Europe.

I saw him play one Sunday Lunchtime around 1998 in a pretty small venue, 100 people maybe. i remember him as an absolutely huge man, hands like shovels and banana sized fingers. He made his guitars look like child's toys. But what a player, what a voice, he also had a massive presence about him too in that little room there was total silence apart from his singing , playing and telling stories for about 2 hours.

Leider hat er sich zu oft unter Preis verkauft. Oder, soll ich sagen, gluecklichweise? Ich sah ihn 1983 in meiner Stammkneipe in einer Kleinstadt ( max 50.000 E.w), und zwar UMSONST!
