I work for a major airline and we are so over staffed by a ridiculous amount l work in maintenance and we are so over over staffed by at least 60% We have a lot younger employees but this younger generation refuses to work and just stare at their iPhone all day and collect their pay checks,it’s unbelievable as this new management are also in their late 20’s
Senator Collins has asked the SS Administration to expedite these bac payments.
Okay, so they cut my SS benefit by half when I was in the hospital January of 2024. Will I get retroactive payments, returning this half starting January of ‘24? I’m thinking so.
You're cool. 😎
Thank you I appreciate that and you don’t even know me
Personally...I work much less in the office than at home....stupid dumb decisions by a few some people that we gave them our vote.
I am eligible for a VERA, but I am on the fence. It is my understanding that if I was riffed, it would be called discontinued service retirement. I would still be able to keep my health insurance and would receive the same pension because I am over 50 with 22 years of service. Also. If I received a severance package it would be more than a VSIP. VERA sounds better than a RIF, but in my case I don’t think it is. I guess I will just wait it out and see what happens.
The executive order states ''Remote''...not 'Telework''...these are two different things.
It does only refer to Remote work, and it is not an Executive Order, it is a Memorandum.
4:25 "no safe space," "smoke pot." Brother, I was in the marine corps when you were divorcing your first wife. You want to reduce the government? Give me the tools to fire poor performers. Don't arbitrarily fire new hires on probationary periods or put me at a competitive disadvantage with corporations that pay more and offer better work/life balances. You dick.
Ahhh no, you mean they'll actually have to do their jobs like the rest of us??😭🤣
OUR tax dollars pay for these bozos!! 🤡🤯
The rest of America has to show up for work in person, why shouldn't the government workers WE pay for?? 💯
I think the ultimate goal is to privatize as much of this work as possible.
Can you please have a normal person record things. Not a rude out of touch boomer slinging untrue stereotypes.
Truth hurts snowflake
Why did you watch? You could have clicked too a different video, you’re silly
I just read in the works, they will up the buyout to $40k and service time reduced from 20 to 15 for early retirement. If this is true, I already have 15 and want to bail now!
I'm disabled so my probationary period is longer. It is well known it is hard for people like me to get fulfilling and well paying jobs despite being perfectly qualified and able to do the work. I'm absolutely terrified
$25,000???? Is this a bad joke?
Get some of those genius h1b Visa tech geeks to figure out a program to expedite payments.
Why offer buyouts when there is a shortage of employees
A 1 year delay for the increased monthly SS check and up to a 2 year delay for the retroactive check is not acceptable! Make your displeasure known on the "contact us" page of the SSA website and email your elected House member and Senators requesting that they put the SSA Commissioner's feet to the fire in sending out our checks in a timely manner rather than delay them in a political stunt to get more funding and manpower.
Just worried that Republicans will try to hold on to the money that is owed . They will drag it.
oh he help kill ssi receivers
So special retirement fed firefighters are left out ?
Could I do that at 48yrs old with 20yrs service?
Nope you have to be 50
They are going to make feds lives as miserable as possible so a big hunk retire or quit, there’s not going to be any buyouts. The boomers are the highest paid. They’re fooling themselves if they think they’re going to get a job in the real world after 50.
There wont be a buy out. The plan is to fire as many as possible and make working so unpalatable the older employees retire or quit. The billionaires have decreed it.
It's retroactive to Dec. 2023, Jan 2024.
Is this guys message paid for by Trump?
MAGA ❤
I don’t think this administration will buy anyone out. They will fire everyone they can easily fire. Next, they will make life as uncomfortable as humanly possible for the remaining employees: -Ending all work from home -Reducing pay -Changing work sites requiring employees to move cross country on short notice. -Eliminating whole departments and agencies -Increased hostility against employees of color -Increased hostility toward white women Each of the strategies will force a segment of the workforce out both directly and indirectly. Anyone who can retire will retire, people who already wanted to leave will go, the rest will be forced out.
I think believe it is funny watching people just figuring out how powerful the president can be when he wants to wield his power. Maybe this is a shock that needed to happen. Particularly under a declared emergency the president has literal dictatorial power....wake up
You are repeating what we already know. What we need to know is When Social Security is going implement the Social Security Farness Act.You repeating what all youtubers are saying. We need to know when the money is going too hit our accounts. That would be very helpful.
Looks like it was a pretty bad idea for Feds to play James Bond, Russian spies, "saving democracy" and everything else in their delusional heads. That guy's your boss again, and hes absolutely pissed. If yall want to blame anyone, look at the leftist ideologues in your ranks who decided it was a good idea to listen to Democrats and use their positions for political and ideological ends. You're going to pay a very high price for this, and a vast majority of you aren't even to blame. Hopefully this will prevent this sort of political weaponization of our government for a very long time.
Those of us in the private sector had to go back to the office. Suck it up
I’m 50 with 30+ years and zero debt. I’d probably take it if they offer it to me. I’ll go to my shop and make bird houses or something. 😆
Smart move. Use pallet wood to make them. You can find free pallets everywhere, pure profit for you. Thinking outside the box, no way you’re a federal employee 😂
@4:24 - That was a tad insulting and it was unnecessary. Not all college students do that. Your attitude towards young people is one of the reasons why nobody wants to hire older workers.
This speaker is spot on….did he hit a nerve snowflake? Go to your safe space and smoke some weed im sure you’ll feel better
Good information to consider. Thank you!
Just hit my 15 years so glad I am Veteran with 30 plus and having a good rate. Protect
All you federal employees who argue against this have no understanding of what your duty is to the American people. You were never GUARANTEED a job and you have no right to dictate the terms of your employment.
Uh huh what agency did you "switch" from?
Do buyouts usually only get offered to those who have been with the government for many years? Do they ever get offered to feds that have been there for 3-6 years?
Has the VERA age requirement ever been decreased? (I'm 50 with 18yrs of service.)
you can get VERA with age 50 +20 yrs of service.
Nope I heard just a few days ago they are increasing the age to squeeze people out, bummer
I don’t think you’re going to make it, year short
How about the Trump administration eliminating locality pay from pension calculation, effective in 1 to 2 years, not retroactive? That would trigger earlier retirement to beat the deadline with voluntary reduction in force from accelerated attrition. It would push current federal employees into the private work force, which would reverse the government bloat trend. Penalizes those who linger on the federal payroll, which would include some "dead wood". I am a retired federal physician who was in a scarce high-demand specialty, and my locality pay was 60% of my salary. My cumulative pension (calculated on base pay plus locality pay) with colas could payout about $5M over 30 years, which is truly more than I deserve or need (my TSP has gains from 30 years 100% in the C fund). This strategy wouldn't cost the government in buyouts and would reduce entitlement spending. It would encourage administrators to raise base pay at the expense of locality pay (which probably is prone to abuses, such as rewarding those who work in high living expense Democrat-run large cities with high taxes).
29:27 ITS CALLED MULTIPLE POLITICIAN DICTATORSHIP!!!
Do you still get your FERS supplement?
I heard they are discontinuing the supplement, you’ll probably have to find another job for a few years until your pension kicks in
They took it from teachers fast enough though.. No delay there....
AMAZING how they criminalize fed employees whom have NO power yet POLITICIANS are given free reign to do anything possible to benefit themselves and 1%
Don’t worry about it folks. This mandate applied broadly to workers who were working from home during the pandemic. There are exemptions for specific situations. As an example, the DOC (commerce) sent an email letter telling its employees to get back to office but so far exempts NOAA, USPTO and its IG. Personally, I know a USPTO patent examiner has been teleworked since 1997. Its Office is fully telework and some of its buildings in Alexandria VA had been sold off. I don’t think the PTO has the means to have every employee coming back in, not all 14000 employees… maybe new hires or probational employees have to come in for a specific length of time.
Excellent information! Thank you!
It sucks that I am 49 w/just under 23 years of service, so I'm less than a year away from the age for qualifying for VERA to even have it as an option to consider.
Federal employees should have never thought that they could slack forever
Troll
Why should Americans have to pay for these federal workers to harass us over taxes that they illegally collect. SSA needs to be in the office so elderly people can go in and talk to someone if they want. A lot of elderly people do not have computer skills. Phone appoints are a joke.
