Port Warrinton was a pit prop yard many years ago .....pit props where made there for holding up coal pit ceilingsin coal pits......boats brought in the timber ....the workiing pit prop. Yard was called The Lay by.,...it was run by my Grandfather Edward Bodell.,...my grand parents lived and worked on site .....my mother was born there ..,.i also have happy memorys of playing there with my brother and sistér....i can remember the trains loading with manufactured pit props.,,....coal board steam trains.,,..the yard also had a small steam engine it was called Haydock....,haydock is on display at Penryn castle in wales.,......haydock used to run down the canel bank past cheste road swing bride.,..,.hope this helps shed light on this area of moore and its past

You want to do a video of Breck Road, Anfield, walked down last week with rubbish all over the place, rubbish bins overflowing, huge pot holes in the patch work road, shops boarded up and derelict, as far as I know there's always been a Labour council running the area, wth have they been doing all these years to let this area go to ruin, place needs some urgent investment. What people from outside the city visiting LFC ground must think of the place.

I remember having a tour around that mill as a kid when it was owned by Wilson King I think? They invited our local bakery association who my dad was part of to look around the mill then had a preview tour of the Liverpool Garden Festival before it opened to the public. Just googled the year and it was 1984, that now makes me feel old!!

It's so sad to see all the historic warehouses being redeveloped. My auld man worked at UMS on the dock road when I was a kid. An old 1800's warehouse also knocked down.
