I stopped having a TV set four years ago as I was fed up of the Covid Bullshit coming at us all the time. I am 75 and it used to be free but they stopped allowing that. I keep getting letters which I use to light the fire. They keep coming and I am not spending £1.60 postage to tell them I do not need one. They must spend a fortune sending out a lot of letters to all the people that are not paying the licence.

Don’t open the letters put on the front not at this address post them back no stamp. Don’t talk to anyone at your door. If you won’t to get a big envelope but some junk mail in it make sure your name address is not on the junk mail no stamp on envelope write urgent than post it back to them. Doesn’t matter if they don’t get the mail it makes me smile.

Just ignore em don’t answer the door and never say who you are

In my personal experience absolutely nothing, zero, zilch, I cancelled my BBC funding about 2013 and have not even received a letter, which surprised me but is true and not a single visit either 🤷🏻‍♂️

Thanks for the videos. I have got the same problem right now. After power up I can drive the Z axis up and down but after a Homing it acts just like in the video. and then I can not drive the Z axis down. Up is fine. What I did was changed my Ender 3 V1.1.4 mother board to a V4.2.7 board. Thought it might be a bad board. Got another new board and it does the same thing. I am not a coder at all but did get the newest firmware from Creality and installed it. No luck as of yet Any ideas?

So long as you do not allow the goons in, and mute your TV or pause your YV when you anwser the door, they will have no basis for any further action. Just "no thanks" and shut the door. If you do not give any indication and say something stupid (these goons are trained to trap you) they will leave without a licence and with tails between their legs.

I get letters every few months or so - as all the letters have a return address of PO in Darlington, I just cross out my address and write on PLEASE RETURN TO SENDER and put it in the letter box. Don't use iPlayer as you need an email add to use it so this can be traced. I have a satellite dish attached but all places hve an aerial and most have a dish so unless you get caught watching live TV you are OK.

To paraphrase Private Eye, three steps to cancelling TV Licence: 1. Cancel the direct debit 2. Er 3. That's it. Don't bother with the TV Licencing declaration. Just cancel the DD. And every time you answer the door, get in the habit of either muting your TV or pausing it if you have that function. Every time. And do not talk to any TV Licencing Goon, as soon as he IDs himself just say "no thanks" and shut the door. Don't argue, don't hranague, don't follow them and record their car reg, just "no thanks" shut the door and do not EVER let them in. Detector Vans were never a thing, a total lie.

It doz not bother me because thay never found me in 36 years if thay come to me I hope he can wark on water as special if tide is up

my 10,00 pound gates and harris fencing on concrete posts help a lot also if they shout only the dogs answer back

Just cancel your TV licence if you haven't already done so. As long as you don't watch live TV, record TV or use the iPlayer you don't need a TV licence. If you get a TV goon on your doorstep don't answer the door or if you do open your door just say no thank you. Do not engage with them.

Your under no obligation whatsoever to cancel or buy a tv licence or to let anyone know! So long as you don’t watch live tv or bbc I player your not breaking any law …. I only watch Netflix, when a goon knocks on my door simply look on my ring doorbell and don’t bother to answer the door , it really is that simple.

the way i look at it is, if i pay for subscription services, then why should i pay for a tv licence? the tv licence was brought in to fund the BBC, NOT anything else. if you go to the website, it tells you basicly have to pay for everything. and define live tv? to me its any thing shown live events, not something thats previously been recorded to watch? they are just grabbing for money because they think they are bigger than everyone else. why should i have to pay to watch youtube, netflix, ect if im not watching "live tv" on a tv? bang out of order. ive not had a tv licence now for 7 years, been visited once, and threatened on that occasion. well no more i say. its time we all stood up to these tyrants and bullies

Have received countless laughable threatening letters which I ignore,and if the big bad wolf turns up at the door he can fook off. And we lived happily ever after. The end.

You might have a tv on if they knock on door,qnd can see , BUT they dunno what you are watching, could be Netflix or whatever

I my real life I work with disabled people that haven't got their benefits yet. And can't afford TVL. I don't have a TV or have watch live for 12 years.. I stand by my cliants and will not buy a TVL until it stops bullying women and the disabled. or make ads or becomes prescription. Then I would probably prescribe?

Why isn't there a campaign to force ITVX, 4, U, Daqve and all the other catch up services to make the "WATCH LIVE" buttons to insist on a TV licence number to be inserted before allowing access?

Haha, what happens next is the Beeb get annoyed and send Capita to harass you monthly...am STILL waiting for them to come, have a bag full of letters to return 🤣 I filled in the online 'no licence reqd' BS for the first few years but it made no difference so I stopped doing it...am 10+ years of no licence so far and have convinced so many people they dont need it, who thought they did...

I’d have thought those red envelopes would fall under what the Post Office used to call “Embarrassing Packets”, which it could refuse to deliver. Obviously didn’t work in your case.

Only got on demand now and haven't looked back since I opted out of paying their poxy licence 2 years ago.

Got an email last week saying my annual DD for TV licence will be requested from my bank in next few days as my licence expires 31/10/24. I cancelled my DD and rang Capita this morning. Was on phone for about 20 minutes asking me various questions. I was courteous and so was the Capita operator. All done and dusted. Told me they'll send me a letter in 12 months time see if my circumstances change. They won't! I have Amazon Prime, TH-cam and the countless catch up channels. I very much doubt anyone will be looking through my window. I live alone on the 18th floor of a 27 storey building in Newcastle upon Tyne. If they use the intercom system to visit me I can see who it is without having to speak. If it's someone I'm not expecting or recognise I won't answer! Saved myself £169.50. Thinking of paying for ad free TH-cam instead. 😂

I updated my firmware last night, from 4.2.2 to 4.2.7, and now i have no XYZ & E movement, i try to auto home, it pauses form like 5 sec, then i get a message come up "Homing Failed, PRINTER HALTED, Please Reset". I Have tried to remove the micro switches, even the CR touch, but still not movement. Can anybody help please?

Just left today. I don't watch live TV I've not watched BBC for a while as their output is junk. About 10 years ago after being homeless we moved into a property. We had no TV, no PC or lap top or smart phones. We informed the BBC and got a weekly threat letter. We did get a TV licence when we started watching TV again. Over the years I've watched less and less of the BBC. It's outrageous this is a anachronism the BBC should be forced into becoming a subscription service so that people who want to watch their garbage can pay for it.

TVL are welcome to keep sending letters since I never open them, & have no clue what they say. If it doesn't have my name on it then it may not be for me. Every so often I write 'Return to Sender' & post them back causing TVL to pay the return post. Goons are also welcome to visit but I only close the door without conversation. I stopped paying in 2015, & will never pay again!.

Don't watch live tv, then no licence needed. NEVER give your name. End of problem. Live is "any channel with time scheduled programs". Catch up is watch anything, any time. ie, UTUBE etc.

I got two letters within 2 wks of each other they say my address is now under investigation well I don’t know what I am under investigation for I go to bed at 7pm at night & watch TH-cam in the day

I cancelled mine 15 years ago, made it very clear to them, I don’t want any of your letters or visits, I removed their right of access and, 15 years later no letters , no visits.

Don't have a TV licence and have no intention of getting one either. Not breaking the law as I don't watch or record any broadcast TV, my aerial isn't even plugged in. I stream old movies and shows, watch TH-cam and DVDs + Blu-rays. Not answering the door to any goons.
