Thank you for such an excellent summary of the outcomes. You kept me from a lot of research. I am about 7 months away from surgery for esotropia that switches from one eye to the other, depending on which eye my brain chooses to use. It is a really long-term condition for which I only recently got decent diagnostic care. I wasn't looking for information out of fear, but out of curiosity about what to expect. Thank you again.

Hi, Thanks for the review, Extremely helpful. My 5yr old has Strabismus (Esotropia), She has had surgery when she was 3 and has been wearing glasses. With glasses, it is going well. Doctor has recommended doing some home vision therapy (hand eye coordination exercises), building her depth vision with virtual reality etc, also computer activities which help with 3D vision. Do you think this will be a good fit especially with your experience with Strabismus.

I'm curious about a few things. Do you see double now? Or is it obvious when you walk with someone at your lazy eye level and look at them? That is, like before surgery.

As an athlete with strabismus, my number one tip is turning your head and squinting. Sure, my lazy eye turning inwards will be visible in certain situations, but a slight squint can help a lot.

Sorry to contradict you, but your insert shot of you when your eyes were not coordinating together showed your eyes pointing outwards by quite a lot. They clearly were not pointing in as you had explained.

Hi I'd like to just have a quick chat about the second corrective surgery as I had my first yesterday and they've over corrected slightly,just want to know if after a few weeks your eye actually relaxes to where you want it to be or is that the fixed position now

Hello!! Thank you so much for giving tons of advice about strabismus on your channel. I was thinking about getting the surgery myself, hoping that it'd be the final and even more so permeant solution. Is your eye turn still an ongoing struggle even after surgery? Do you still have to do a lot to keep your eyes straight, or are they straight 100% of the time without you needing to do anything to keep them that way now that you've had your surgery.

Is the problem in the eye muscles or the brain?

Actually, I had hit in my right aye The blow caused me to squint in my right eye, and I had surgery on both eyes , and now the squint has returned again, but I cannot say that my operation failed because no one will notice it until talk to someone after then I find him tells me you I have issues in your ayes.

Hello I have this exotropia squint eye condition, where one of my eyes turn outwards and I’ve had it since I was a kid I’m 22 now and been thinking about getting this surgery but was wondering if I should a good amount of money saved up before I go ahead with the surgery where I’m gonna need time off work and unsure how long it’s gonna take to get back to work and unsure if this surgery is expensive, thank you for this video

Melissa I love you. I remember as a kid listening to my great aunt mumbling something while we were all eating breakfast. She didn't have her teeth in. My dad said "she's talking to you." I said "how was I supposed to know? She was looking way over there." I believe karma came back on me cause now I'm in my 50's and my eye looks like Bill Cosby. I saw your video and started doing the exercises. I had already tried the patch and everytime I took it off my eye drifted right back to the way it was. I love this exercise. I feel normal. I may not act it but I feel it. 😂

Driving in rain at night is nearly impossible.

I've had a lazy eye since I was a young child, but it was only when learning how to drive that I discovered I had absolutely 0 depth perception. Shadows and size were great ways to gauge distance - up until I was in a giant metal box driving 60 miles an hour surrounded by others, especially when a life-threatening decision would need to be made in seconds. The sudden stops and turns aren't so difficult once you get used to it. But even in broad daylight, slowly gaining on someone in front of my because I'm driving 5 mph faster than they are is nearly impossible for me to spot right away.

3 surgeries as a kid in the 70’s with a brilliant surgeon for his time in NYC. My eyes are pretty straight but suppression in my right eye. When I cover the left dominant, right eye turns in and on. My suppression isn’t as bad as most I think and vision is great in that eye, but still no steropsys at 57. Bought equal eyes just to try and the rings (I forget what they’re called,) I can see them moving away and close, instead of right to left as if only using one eye, but struggle to see the L and R letters together in their boxes below the rings. The L nd R comes and goes, but they move around instead of lining up just staring at the rings. Seems I’m so close, but frustrated! Found your channel, and love what you’re doing!

OMG I have strabismus and this is literally my entire piano experience as a child…from 7 til hs…..realizing im not the only one who experienced this is life changing

Did you wear prisms at all during your journey of vision therapy?

I am 2 weeks in with my vision therapy and I have alot of those symptoms you mentioned but also getting headaches or migraines. Did you experience that and how long did you do vision therapy for? Right now I am 5 days on and 2 days off.
