In a a very similar situation using a 4 prism 2 in each eye. I was hell to adjust to but it does help however their are still issues. I know my doc will just try to increase it since their very anti surgery...its all so frustrating
I have a question after watching your video. Did your eye doctor prescribe glasses that reduced the prism from 6 diopters to 4, then from 4 to 2, and finally from 2 to 0? At which prism diopter level did you start training without prism?
I used a fresnel stick on prism that I would wear over one eye and he would switch it out every few weeks. When I got down to 4-6 diopters I didn't really need the prism anymore and was able to do the work without the help of prism. I did get prism ground into my glasses 3 diopters base out to use in case of double vision while driving, etc. I don't ever use them anymore though.
Can strabismus surgery be done on an amblyopic eye??? I actually don't use that eye that much. So,will the result last??? My vision in that eye is C.F.
You can have surgery with amblyopia, but the success rates aren't as high. Have you considered trying vision therapy first? You can go to strabismussolutions.com/findvt/ to find an office.
When I was a child I had been told I had lazy Eye by MD eye dr. Had operation on left eye in 1st grade and then in 8th grade on right eye. Always told the left eye would always be weaker and turn out some. I can tell it is really weak. Yet a few years back and I am 57 now headed to 58 was told you never had Lazy eye, you have strabismus. I am like what that is what I was told. I ask all the time when I go in if anything can be done for the left eye because I know it is weak and even when you look at me it is off in the la la land. I am always told NOPE, that is it. It is what it is. Of course now that I am older the good right eye is like I am tired of this shit and not working as well. It is like I have carried the load for 57 years. What worried me recently went to DMV for lic and had to read they eye machine and unless I closed the right eye I could not see what I was suppose to with the left eye. They said are you seeing anything with the left. I can see out of the left but the right does all the work. HELP HELP or is it a lost cause as I am always told.
