Following the legally driven 2020 policy directive on gender parity in the armed forces, the pathway was cleared for equal participation for Indian women in all streams, except the mechanized infantry and armored corps. Peace agreements resulting from a peace process where women negotiators take part are 20% more likely to last at least two years and 35% more likely to last at least 15 years. Yet, women constitute only around 4% of the signatories at major peace processes and negotiations. So although we know it's more effective, we're actually not doing it yet. At the same time, women should not have to const...
Women in Peacekeeping Forces | Dr. Roshan Khanijo

In 2020, women constituted only about 4.8 percent of military contingents and 10.9 percent in formal police units. Targets for 2028 aim for 15% in military contingents, 25% as military observers and staff officers, and 20% in police units. Achieving these targets will be an uphill task as there are institutional, logistical, systemic, and psychological challenges. Women peacekeepers play a pivo...

Women, even when part of the affected group, may respond similarly to men, adhering to established narratives. Speaking out or presenting different perspectives is met with severe counteractions. In the midst of this gloom, the call for solidarity among peace activists is crucial, and mentorship on peace processes is greatly needed. The challenge lies in empowering women to have a voice that is...
Peacebuilding Experiences from South Asia | Dr. Mallika Joseph
มุมมอง 112ปีที่แล้ว
"Men often view peace as the end of conflict, while women perceive it as the end of violence" A significant disconnect persists between grassroots women peacebuilders and those shaping global peace-building narratives at the policy level. Bridging this gap remains a challenge, even with efforts aimed at connecting local and global perspectives. Women's participation not only enhances the peace ...

Thank you! ❤🙏
Salute to madam for being part of this very important debate.
So appaling.. Who cut of her breast ? It is Cooked up story... There ain't any historical evidence... There was Thalakkaram and Mulakkaram... Thalakkaram = head tax, professional tax on men.. Mulakkaram = breast tax.. Professional tax on women.... Breast tax is already discarded argument... It was well debated in kerala... You are talking about a time when writing was prevalent. Tax records are available... None of the social reformers talked about breast tax... Suddenly The Hindu published this hoax... And now you are parroting.... Ms Gopinath verify before you speak........ If you are making tall claims, you ought to be legally answerable.

Was fortunate to have met Dr Riva Ganguly at Agartala, Tripura at a Conference on Indo Japan economic policies and trade. We need women diplomats as they have a larger and more neutral world view.
It is not gender... Men & women..
Thank you for this 👏👏!!! Get to know the secret > P r o m o s m !
Though it's sad to hear this, we all have faced torture in one or another form but I was expecting more from this session! There's so much going on, there's a direct attack on Muslim women and their choice of hijab. We are already divided, let's talk about coming together as one community instead of living in the past.
My point is don't you think that something what you called is your choice that's not exactly yours because friends family and society indirectly enforce you to do this or they must be telling you some so-called positive stories like if you are following proper religion you are good one and so on... But plz think about it why women should follow all the rules society is always liberal toward men regarding anything and In Islamic Society it is even more towards men. See every religion has flowed. But the most concerning thing is you are still following the extreme version of it. Every religion goes through a reform. But in islam I haven't seen that. I am not against any religion but you must think this way also. After all we made religion either you agree or not so we can change it..Humanity should be priority otherwise women will lost always in men' war
I am greatful to have with you.. It's an honor for us. My regards respect and love to you Maa (Dr. Giri).
