I challenged myself to make some red, white and blue themed bouquets for the 4th, and I think I achieved the mission! Thanks for watching!

Flower Farmer Heart to Heart 💕 This season has been tough (Season 2 Episode 10)
มุมมอง 2.1Kปีที่แล้ว
I debated uploading this video because it feels a bit whiny. But I want to be honest with everyone that running a small scale flower farm is not all sunshine and rainbows. Farming is tough, and the finances of farming are even tougher. In this video, I'm opening up about how I've been feeling about the farm and where I see it going in the future. Hopefully this helps you feel less alone if you'...

Thanks for watching!
Multiply your dahlia tubers by taking cuttings 🌱 (Season 2 Episode 6)
มุมมอง 2Kปีที่แล้ว
Hi everyone! In this video I'm showing you how to turn one $15 dahlia tuber into 5 new plants, which will produce flowers all season long and give you many more tubers! This is how the professional flower farmers reduce input costs and increase their stock. It takes some patience and you need to keep on top of the cuttings since they grow quickly, but it is well worth it for all of those new tu...

Never tried AI. I just discovered your videos yesterday when I wanted to figure out the bookkeeping aspect of flower farming to try and decide if I wanted to take my dahlia growing into a business. Awesome stuff and I totally DONT want to be in business cause I only have my side yard to work in (can grow about 450 plants) and thats it. So, I'm still growing the plants and gifting my neighbors and occasionally selling some flowers here and there to people who pass by and ask for some. I am going to keep watching you to see if I change my mind in the future. Plus, I love your personality and your honest up front approach.

I’m so glad I found your videos! I’m starting a small flower business with my 13 yr old granddaughter. Our intention is to sell bouquets from a stand on our driveway. Your videos are well done and so informative. I’ve got a better idea of what we can expect and will definitely help with expectations this year. We’re also in the PNW and I’m finding city/county/state (Ore) regulatory information difficult to first find, and then understand. Hi there..know this is a late post. But this is really the only time of the yr. that I check in. You need to follow your heart for now. As I read the other posts that were made ..it seems there's alot of us in the same boat. Mine started as just a few sunflower seeds/zinnias to go to market with in early retirement because of family illness, etc. ..etc. Anyway..I've tried several different crops1/2 acre. I have grown older..67.. and even though it's not a money maker for me, I'll do something in the field as long as I can. I was 54/55 when I started, and didn't really put in the bones of farming. Although I already had other garden areas I could gather from, too. I saw what you were doing last yr, and it was awesome. I felt bad for you that they didn't sell. I think it's great that you're trying to figure it all out..and you will. What you said about learning the ropes for now was good. If you still want to grow on..keep it simple. Focus on a few crops that do well for you.. and do as many as you can in your space. Try to break even..and if you're not going to stay where you are, I wouldn't put alot of bones in the ground. Sounds like you have a beautiful life ahead with plans..It will all fall into place somehow. Take care now.

Great video. Really helpful information about temperatures and what each plant actually needs. I once was too eager to plant basil, so put the seeds in the pot in march (too cold here for basil). Those plants never got as big as the ones planted in may, when temperature was appropriate.
