He is NOT responsible for Gujrat riots. He (note: this was not even 1 year into him becoming a Chief Minister for the "first time") did his level best to STOP the riots. Plus, there has been countless investigations carried out even when his arch rival party was in power in India (and he was not popular (like now) back then) and none of those investigations found anything against him and on the contrary it was found that some of the leaders in anti-Modi civilian organizations were receiving funds from "somewhere" and some (including one police officer) even went low to torture people into giving false testimony.

I think you got sidetracked too much on the railway line. Should have mentioned the large rest stop with the bird noises in the toilets. Also, the roadhouse has a lot to offer the weary traveller.

The tour of the ruins of the shale oil refinery is definitely worthwhile. There is much history with Glen Davis and nearby Newnes in the Wolgan Valley. The film The Chain Reaction starring Steve Bisley was made on location in the town. It is a little known Australian movie available on DVD.

I camped there in a park , visited the factory (its "officially" closed, but if you pay the house near the gate "$20" then they "officially" open a tour... as the sign suggests. However if you are Safety mindfull you will be fine. No creepy vibe or feelings felt. If anything the peace and quiet set in the valley was relaxing and refreshing. Not everyone needs to have a thirst for the concrete jungle (City). I recomend anyone who is interested to give this place a visit. Just expect to be very isolated, which is nothing to be spooked out about.
