I had a problem to solve. We couldn't relax on our sofa as the coffee table was too far to reach when you were snuggled up to the dog and trying to enjoy a show or movie. super nice, does the lack of stain on the inside bother you at all, or more correctly can you see it from an angle?
Thank you! It's not really noticeable unless you're looking for it. There was a plan to buy some felt/leather and glue it to the inside to protect the couch which is why I didn't end up staining it originally. I haven't gotten round to doing that part yet and didn't want to wait to finish the video so right now I'm actually using a couple of strategically placed cloths for the same purpose.
Another furniture rehabber says that sanding with 220 grit can seal the pores. So she only goes up to 180 grit. That may explain the splotchiness you mentioned. Her results are very good so I believe her.
