HEI stands for High Energy Ignition not Hall Effect Ignition.

@@bernardocisneros4402 No it does not. it stands for hall effect ignition. I have been automotive technician most my life. and it stands for hall effect ignition. CDI uses a magnetic pick-up. hall effect doesn't. it has have a power source to work. it's why a person has to use a nine volt battery to test HEI ignition.

@@musicauthority674 I have been a mechanic/technician since 1989 and all the books I've ever read have HEI as High Energy Ignition. Some HEI systems use hall effect sensors as pick ups but there are also reluctor type pick ups. Show me where in a manual or reputable website it says HEI stands for Hall Effect Ignition. I can show you many where it shows HEI stands for High Energy Ignition.
