Ive seen the song of the south! It's on internet archive! I will say that it's really hard to say that the song of the south takes place after the Civil war... you literally have to go to third party source to find someone who worked on the movie say that it takes place after the Civil war... very bad on the movies part... I'm half African American and i don't believe the movie to be racist. It definitely has it's stereotypes....

I know a lot of people prefer DL SM, but for me it's WDW, hands down. DL has better theming, smoother ride, more comfortable seats, more music, able to see more stars, blah, blah, blah. But it is BORING. Just right turn after right turn after right turn and no drops. The whole point is the thrill of danger and cacaphony in the dark. You just feel more in danger at WDW precisely because the ride is less smooth, twists and turns unpredictably, and has drops. To say DL SM is better is like saying driving in LA is better than a mountain village in Italy because you have more modern, smoother, wider highways, bigger cars with better audio systems, and the roads are more logical. boring, Boring, BORING! Who chooses LA in a Toyota Camry over mountain Italy in a tiny Fiat? Ah, Americans.

I know this sounds dumb....but do you think they should sell the US parks, or least partly own them?

Same thing as other people all they had to do was upgrade the rides like every few years or at least every 4 years the atmosphere was just fun bro even when i hit like a little older i still enjoyed the pirates ride thing where u shoot ships and then id love to go get soke snacks and send an email to myself which was cool back in the day lol but just the atmosphere walking around somthing about the air you smelled in it was nice call me strange but i loved the thing make your own virtual roller coaster was awesome

The Problem with Tiana's Bayou Adventure is the story is way too underwhelming and boring, it's like watching Belle's Magical World 1998 or The Hunchback of Norte Dame II 2001 or an underwhelming Disney Junior episode. There's too much dark spaces. I'm sad there aren't as much critters and I don't see a skunk, otter, gopher, 3 possums hanging on a tree branch, or cave bats, no lady butterflies, no pink flamingos, the songs "Never Knew I Needed" by Ne-Yo, "Friends on the Other Side" sung by Dr. Facilier, "Ma Belle Evangeline", "When we're human" should've been played on the ride. Also there's no villains like Buford Tiana's former boss, Lawrence, Reggie, Darnell, Two Fingers. Or even Dr. Facilier. There aren't even shadow spirits or skeletons or dead twisted trees or brambles to make it scary. The Disney World Imagineers should've followed the events of the movie and called it "The Princess and the Frog" ride and even promote it for Halloween season with Dr. Facilier's Magic Show. I don't have hope for the Disneyland version which I predict will very likely be just as boring and underwhelming like the Disney World version, I'll ride it once and if it's that bad, I'll go on the awful spinning teacups and forget about Tiana's Bayou Adventure ride. Hopefully Tiana's Bayou Adventure will close and get redone to make it more re ridable for us Disney fans like me and kids. This reminds me of A Goofy Movie 1994 scene where Goofy takes Max to a Possum animatronic show which Max disliked very much. If Disney World and Disneyland refuse to improve it, then I'll wait for over a decade for a second retheme "Pocahontas Around the Riverbend" and hopefully move Tiana's Bayou Adventure to a more gentle dark ride which isn't likely to happen as I'm just dreaming about it.

Its amazing with the lights and effects and its fun. But it lacks story and makes absolutely no sense.

Imagine the ride as the original movie. Where Tiana in her blue dress, kisses the frog and then we turn into frogs in the bayou while Dr faciller chases us with his demons! Imagine “are you ready” as you’re going up the hill and dr facillier poofs smoke and his eyes are showing in the dark as you splash down!!!! And then the ending is Tiana and naveens wedding, then a peppers ghost effect of the frogs turning into their human forms. Tiana in her beautiful green dress!!! With mama odie!!!

I remember when Disney World was such an intelligent unique place. It’s such a shame to see what has happened to one of the cleverest places I had ever been to. It’s become so generic. Everything unique they decided to view as dated, it’s so sad.

The fact that you mentioned the story as searching for the spice and they didn't even keep that idea is the root of why this failed. The ride has no story, it has no purpose. It's the theme park equivalent of a toddler board book. This page shows Tiana. This page shows Louis. This page shows Tiana and Louis. This page shows fireflies. And on the last page Louis, Tiana, and the fireflies have a party. The end. Pathetic.

I think it would've been a lot more visually appealing if they went the shadow man route since its so dark they could've used it to their advantage for making it a bit if a more scary ride lowkey

such a pity, this one remembers Splash Mountain being one of the few attractions this one wanted to go on multiple times the one time it went to Disney World(not that it remembers anything about the ride, it was in 1st grade at the time, and they were still running a Honey I Shrunk The Kids ride along with a Journey Inside the Body-type one at Epcot, iirc. The new animatronics and effects at least look good in the abstract, but between nostalgia, knowing this one'll never get to relive any part of that trip, and the new version seeming a bit mid at best(and this from someone who doesn't really have any experience with theme park rides besides a nearly 3 decade ago trip it can't even really remember), consider this one disappointed. Still, the basics are there, and maybe in the future it could get some minor modifications to improve the story and add in some of the darker elements of the movie. Even if they don't wanna bring back the villain himself, do something with those darker elements of voodoo. or heck, DO bring him back to a point. make part of the plot his attempt to escape his fate from the movie only to fail at the end and get dragged back into The Other Side

Princess and the Frog is one of my absolute favorite Disney movies, however this ride is just a disappointment honestly.. It’s a cute idea but with pretty bad execution. But hey, at least the animatronics faces aren’t projected on

I didn't have any problem finding the full length film. Maybe a DVD is hard. But finding a watchable version wasn't difficult.

Sad to lose the great splash mountain for this. Sure it has colorful spots but any amusement park can do that. Boring and no story thats interesting. Oh well thats the way things go i guess.

It was about 3 weeks before Disney quest closed that I was able to go again. It had always been the perfect birthday spot to just go and chill for the day playing tons of arcade games with my dad. During my early childhood I was never into new games and I normally sticked with games like marble madness, or super Mario 64. Seeing Disney quest knowing it would be closed soon was absolutely heartbreaking for 10 year old me, and I honestly never really saw any reason to get rid of it like others saw. I definitely feel emotionally attached to Disney quest as I cry sometimes when thinking about how fun it was and how I’ll never be able to experience that awesome feel that Disney quest brought. I still have hope that they could build a bit of a redesign with some upgraded tech, while keeping that old classic arcade feel. I loved Disney quest.

There's not even a comparison. Yes the haunted Mansion absolutely set the tone and got the ball rolling but phantom Manor is filled with everything a ghost story should have. Love death pathos redemption. It's straight out of an Edgar Allan Poe poem. It's magnificent.

Did you know that the laughter the Phantom does was done by the Movie/ Horror Legend Vincent Price. Also Vincent Price did the English translate audio for Phantom Manor. You meant know him from The 13'th Ghost Of Scooby- Doo he played Vincent Vnghoul. He did the speaking part in Michael Jackson's Thriller and the laghting in the end of the song. He played one of the main characters in The Raven with Boris Karloff . He played Iorn Tail in Peter Cottontail in the classic. He played Professor Ratigan in The Great Mouse Detective.

I personally had no problem with Splash Mountain theme *coming from a black male* but to be accurate Uncle Remus was a slave living on a plantation with other slaves…great video though

If the scenario was that of the movie Princes and the Frog that could have worked: there’s a lot of characters that translate nicely to animatronics and the movies setting matches that of the original splash mountain without much change. Honestly the movie has enough of a tense plot line to work alongside that drop. But then you hear the story: it’s apparently Tiana gathering ingredients? Umm…k…adventure ho! This is what I’ve heard. Maybe they’ll surprise but I doubt it. Disney threw context to the wind and valued budget cuts. I heard rumors that the experience is mostly screens which I personally can’t stand because it kills the immersive factor.

I do own a copy of Song of the South. I watch it now and again and I get the same feeling every time. Aside from the wonderful animation, it really isn't that good of a film. It's also not this horrible racist movie that a vocal minority make it out to be. And I have a pretty good bet that none of them have actually seen the film. To use that as an excuse to take out Splash Mountain is pretty ridiculous.

I can see them turning it into a more elaborate Frozen ride. Doesn’t fit the area, but i think all that went out the window a while ago. I can see Disney one day eliminating the lines between lands so the can fit what ever they want, anywhere they want to better utilize space and existing buildings. Right now it seems they might find a space needing some sort of update, realizing a new attraction is in order and creating a movie around that fact to fill that space. Seems like they did that with the subs.. Coming out with water themed movies till one was successful, then re-themed the ride with it.

Theme parks need year round horror and children horror attractions.... Like the hounted mansion...one of the most popular rides of all time...that yearly gets stupidly turned into a Nightmare before Christmas in October (that should have its own ride)

They have not stated it takes place in salt mines but in the bayou.

Too much IP in the parks is ruining disney

Cars land should have been used as Car Land based on California. Soarin should have stayed California based. Paradise pier was just a bad area in general but should have been reimagined towards a Victorian styled land. Tower of terror should have stayed. Web slingers should have never been built and should use a different ride system with the theme being located in California at least. That’s how I would’ve done DCA. Or you could just rename it Disney’s Cinematic Adventure
