The PROBLEM with Tiana's bayou adventure...

- First, let me state that if you came here to express prejudiced comments about Tiana's Bayou Adventure your comment will more than likely receive a heart from me.
I have not personally gotten to ride this but just wanted to state my opinions and see what you guys think.
Lastly, let me know what your thought are down in the comments below!

I think it would've been a lot more visually appealing if they went the shadow man route since its so dark they could've used it to their advantage for making it a bit if a more scary ride lowkey
I agree, I feel as if Disney needs to put another “scary” attraction in. We’ve had Tower and Mansion for so long now, but adding a third spooky ride would be a great addition. Of course it wouldn’t be all scary but it would contain a lot of those elements. There was so much potential with the theme
The fact that you mentioned the story as searching for the spice and they didn't even keep that idea is the root of why this failed. The ride has no story, it has no purpose. It's the theme park equivalent of a toddler board book. This page shows Tiana. This page shows Louis. This page shows Tiana and Louis. This page shows fireflies. And on the last page Louis, Tiana, and the fireflies have a party. The end. Pathetic.
Right, it has no true plot to it which is honestly required for a ride such as this with drops and thrilling elements. Someone mentioned that it feels like they’re in a Disney Junior episode and I couldn’t agree more. Having a plot or antagonistic character doesn’t mean it has to be overly scary or intimidating, splash mountain was a good example of that. It’s just a shame that there was many factors that made this into a very underwhelming ride.
@themeparktheories1040 agreed. It's also more pronounced because of the ride's length. At 10 minutes it's unthinkable to not have a storyline that captures your attention. Their lack of effort would have been much less noticeable if they would have just over laid this onto Winnie the pooh.
I agree with you. It's like watching Belle's Magical World 1999 which isn't exactly my favorite Disney sequel movie. It feels like an underwhelming Disney Junior cartoon episode.
Princess and the Frog is one of my absolute favorite Disney movies, however this ride is just a disappointment honestly.. It’s a cute idea but with pretty bad execution. But hey, at least the animatronics faces aren’t projected on
The movie is great, and this ride had a lot of potential. But they literally thrown out every iconic part of the movie for this lazy story.
Imagine the ride as the original movie. Where Tiana in her blue dress, kisses the frog and then we turn into frogs in the bayou while Dr faciller chases us with his demons! Imagine “are you ready” as you’re going up the hill and dr facillier poofs smoke and his eyes are showing in the dark as you splash down!!!! And then the ending is Tiana and naveens wedding, then a peppers ghost effect of the frogs turning into their human forms. Tiana in her beautiful green dress!!! With mama odie!!!
Now THAT would be a ride worthy of being under the Disney title. Instead we got a Disney Junior episode attraction with no plot, no risk, and no story in general.
such a pity, this one remembers Splash Mountain being one of the few attractions this one wanted to go on multiple times the one time it went to Disney World(not that it remembers anything about the ride, it was in 1st grade at the time, and they were still running a Honey I Shrunk The Kids ride along with a Journey Inside the Body-type one at Epcot, iirc.
The new animatronics and effects at least look good in the abstract, but between nostalgia, knowing this one'll never get to relive any part of that trip, and the new version seeming a bit mid at best(and this from someone who doesn't really have any experience with theme park rides besides a nearly 3 decade ago trip it can't even really remember), consider this one disappointed. Still, the basics are there, and maybe in the future it could get some minor modifications to improve the story and add in some of the darker elements of the movie. Even if they don't wanna bring back the villain himself, do something with those darker elements of voodoo. or heck, DO bring him back to a point. make part of the plot his attempt to escape his fate from the movie only to fail at the end and get dragged back into The Other Side
There was so much they could’ve done with this ride to give it the truly thrilling experience with an equally thrilling plot. Now it’s just so bland and leaves people wanting for more, but not in the same way splash mountain did. If they did change the ride to follow the movie story, then it would probably do much better. Still never beating out splash, but still much better than whatever this is.

I remember when Disney World was such an intelligent unique place. It’s such a shame to see what has happened to one of the cleverest places I had ever been to. It’s become so generic. Everything unique they decided to view as dated, it’s so sad.
Right, every little detail and effect added something to the story, and now it’s all just there to show that they can do these really “advanced” effects whenever in reality it’s just screens. And yeah the animatronics are cool but not when they’re down 24/7
Its amazing with the lights and effects and its fun. But it lacks story and makes absolutely no sense.
Which then makes for just an absolute downgrade
I hope Tiana's Bayou Adventure will eventually end up like Superstar Limo and Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser! #BringBackSplashMountain
I doubt it, at the very least they might add the villain because that’s what everyone wanted to begin with

@@AndrewMartin-ik7bq The only difference is the animatronics, backdrop/grass, and music. The track is the same along with the “mountain”.
The Problem with Tiana's Bayou Adventure is the story is way too underwhelming and boring, it's like watching Belle's Magical World 1998 or The Hunchback of Norte Dame II 2001 or an underwhelming Disney Junior episode. There's too much dark spaces. I'm sad there aren't as much critters and I don't see a skunk, otter, gopher, 3 possums hanging on a tree branch, or cave bats, no lady butterflies, no pink flamingos, the songs "Never Knew I Needed" by Ne-Yo, "Friends on the Other Side" sung by Dr. Facilier, "Ma Belle Evangeline", "When we're human" should've been played on the ride. Also there's no villains like Buford Tiana's former boss, Lawrence, Reggie, Darnell, Two Fingers. Or even Dr. Facilier. There aren't even shadow spirits or skeletons or dead twisted trees or brambles to make it scary.
The Disney World Imagineers should've followed the events of the movie and called it "The Princess and the Frog" ride and even promote it for Halloween season with Dr. Facilier's Magic Show. I don't have hope for the Disneyland version which I predict will very likely be just as boring and underwhelming like the Disney World version, I'll ride it once and if it's that bad, I'll go on the awful spinning teacups and forget about Tiana's Bayou Adventure ride. Hopefully Tiana's Bayou Adventure will close and get redone to make it more re ridable for us Disney fans like me and kids. This reminds me of A Goofy Movie 1994 scene where Goofy takes Max to a Possum animatronic show which Max disliked very much.
If Disney World and Disneyland refuse to improve it, then I'll wait for over a decade for a second retheme "Pocahontas Around the Riverbend" and hopefully move Tiana's Bayou Adventure to a more gentle dark ride which isn't likely to happen as I'm just dreaming about it.

@@themeparktheories1040 I rode Splash Mountain two or three times. This updated ride is the exact same track with different characters and songs. The drop is still there. It is essentially the same exact ride.
@@kevincobble934You know that there is more to a ride than just track layout right. It be like riding the space mountain track layout outside on a clear sunny day with no other theming in the area and calling it "Space Mountain"
