If they would’ve kept updates consistent they would’ve made a lot more money than a vacant building. But it’s no telling how much the NBA paid for use of the space. They probably made a pretty penny, but it’s a shame to give up something so unique. The Chicago one as well. Just because it didn’t meet initial projections doesn’t mean it couldn’t be tweaked to be profitable. But they would not make the effort. They care too much about short term losses to think about what the long term investment could mean. Sad 😢

The thing is Disney will shelve and cancel ideas simply because they don’t make enough money even if they do make money. For example, Disney infinity (the toys to life game) made Disney money (turned a profit) but because it didn’t make an insane boat load of money like they wanted, it didn’t seem worth it to them to invest time and assets into something they knew wouldn’t make as much as some other of their hair brained schemes

The Star Wars experience was a limited run free PR event that ran for 2 months last year. I don't see any news of anything else coming to the location. It is now vacant again. Hopefully Disney will be smart and do Disney Quest 2.0.

I find it interesting that they’re going with another Star Wars themed attraction in a humongous building right after the Star Wars hotel in the humongous building flopped lol. But we’ll see, maybe they’ve got something cool planned.

you mean the temporary vr experience?

@@jjpercevalOh I think I misunderstood the video. He kinda made it sound like the Star Wars VR was going to be the new permanent replacement, but it looks like it was just a short thing they were offering for a few months.

It was about 3 weeks before Disney quest closed that I was able to go again. It had always been the perfect birthday spot to just go and chill for the day playing tons of arcade games with my dad. During my early childhood I was never into new games and I normally sticked with games like marble madness, or super Mario 64. Seeing Disney quest knowing it would be closed soon was absolutely heartbreaking for 10 year old me, and I honestly never really saw any reason to get rid of it like others saw. I definitely feel emotionally attached to Disney quest as I cry sometimes when thinking about how fun it was and how I’ll never be able to experience that awesome feel that Disney quest brought. I still have hope that they could build a bit of a redesign with some upgraded tech, while keeping that old classic arcade feel. I loved Disney quest.

If they'd implement MY idea at the current building, closing quest would be a success...

Why not make that space into Disney themed escape rooms? Have different escape rooms based off of Disney shows, theme park attractions and movies?

    I think you're crazy.
DisneyQuest is right in my nostalgia wheelhouse, but I did get to do it again shortly before it closed and... it was bad. Real bad. It suffered the same fate as original Tomorrowland... you can't base something around the future unless you're willing to constantly update it to forever be futuristic.

That’s the point. They should have kept replacing attractions piece meal style, keeping costs down while attracting new visitors, instead of banking on attracting new tourists that have never been before. Disney quest would still be a strong lower cost attraction for the locals if they would have just continued what they started instead of letting it stagnate. The problem is their unwillingness to invest and update before things are too outdated.

@@zacharyeversole I just don't think that's really possible anymore. Everyday tech is so advanced now that it's hard to impress people.

Same thing as other people all they had to do was upgrade the rides like every few years or at least every 4 years the atmosphere was just fun bro even when i hit like a little older i still enjoyed the pirates ride thing where u shoot ships and then id love to go get soke snacks and send an email to myself which was cool back in the day lol but just the atmosphere walking around somthing about the air you smelled in it was nice call me strange but i loved the thing make your own virtual roller coaster was awesome
