i feel like disney has enough money that they could actually split it into three different parks that each portray batuu (the galaxys edge planet) at a different point in the timeline itd make everyone happy and itd also be great for visual storytelling
I think they should make a land themed to the original trilogy where muppet vision is and close to star tours. Then the tunnel that goes to galaxy’s edge can be re-themed to the world between worlds because this would explain the time jumps.
Disney really dropped the ball by basically ignoring the OT and prequels. I get that they were pushing their own trilogy very hard to capitalize on their own story, but the people who are spending the money to see this stuff either grew up with the OT (like me, 50) or the prequels (people my son's age in his early 20's). Back in the 90's and early 2000's, they had Vader, Chewie, and the Ewoks at Star Tours and it was a huge hit. Before Galaxy's Edge opened, at Launch Bay the crowds were all over Vader, Chewie, and the Jawas with comparatively few waiting for Kylo, though the line for BB-8 was pretty long. And pretty universally, the big things people were looking forward to with the new rides was finally being able to fly the Falcon and seeing the AT-AT's, solidly OT connections. I don't think there would be ANY kind of a major uprising if Disney said "okay, you know what? Now we're on Tatooine and you're stepping back in time. Happy?" Yes, yes we would be.
I’m about to bitch about the sequels so I’ll be as brief as I can Disneys trilogy is a remake in format and function: the story and cycle of events are the same verbatim. The characters fill in for old ones in a way that’s akin to jus tracking the original script and crossing out the names. It supposed to be a sequel though. Ultimately it diminishes the value of at least the original trilogy. Again it’s a remake and if this new trilogy catches on it will kill interest for younger audiences in the original. It’s akin to Disney trying overshadow their animated classics in favor of their live action remakes, permanently I mean. Speaking of which, it’s still a mistake to strictly theme the attractions after the sequels. I have no interest in their live action content but I’d still go to the parks if they had say a dark ride set in the OT Era complete with a menacing Darth Vader animatronic. But again the attractions are strictly sequel based The OT is a timeless classic and Disney bought the franchise to bank on that cultural significance but again by making the sequel trilogy like they did and solely basing their attractions on that is going to overshadow the originals for young new comers and diminish their value
I agree. It would be cool to see Vader instead of Kylo Ren or see Uncle Owen's place. See Luke, Han, Leia, Ben, and Lando would be great.

They have an AT-AT at Hollywood Studios in Florida and Boba Fett already has been at Disneyland for a while.
Pod Racer's would be cool. Could be like Tron - except longer with Star Wars theming.
